This is the second book I’ve read by this author and this one is even darker than the first. Once I started reading this though I couldn’t put the book down for more than a few minutes that I needed now and then to take a deep breath and compose myself to continue with the story. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Wow, I have read a variety of dark subjected books but this one, I think it takes the cake. First off, heed the warnings. This truely is a dark and disturbing read as a young married mother is kidnapped while she ran to the store to get Children’s Advil for one of her sick kids. The man that kidnaps her is beyond a monster. The feelings and detail shared in this story is something that stays with you after the story is done. I am so happy that things turn around for Serenity. She is rescued. How does one truely come back from that experience? A amazingly strong and determined woman that’s who and the love and support of a real man. Wowzers.

This is the story of hope and resiliance against all odds. I was very fortunate to read this book originally and was offered this reworked story. Skye Bailey is an extremely talented writer. She writes about uncomfortable subjects but still manages to pull you in. This is my original review of this book which is still appropriate. “I cannot begin to describe what I think about this book! Serene is definitely not what this poor woman is thinking. This author has put together a story which is so depraved one cannot possibly imagine a happy ending for Serenity. She is kidnapped by a monster and the things that she has to go through are truly horrendous. What an imagination, although I am sure that in some place at some time these things are really happening to women in their real lives. Although this story is brutal , the way Serenity deals with it is truly magnificent. This is a very dark read and it has stayed with me. I recommend you read a much lighter tome after this one. Having said all that this is a really terrific story and I do recommend it but with a warning because it is very dark.” This is my review and I was compelled to read this story again and I stand by my remarks. An extremely talented and brave author.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. The darkness that fell upon Serenity, was very dark. The story pulled you in straight away and the tears that you shred from what she went through, and it had heat pouring out with eroticism and emotions were all over the place.
