From bestselling author Ella Fields comes a new standalone love triangle romance. My first love was my brother’s best friend. A lead singer in their band.A picture of rugged perfection. And a chance at something beautiful and true.
The problem with having a first and second love?
That would be loving them at the same time.
My story isn’t some sexy triangle.
It’s exquisite agony.
Fate gave me two men to love,
but none of us knew which one I could keep.

And once again I have lost my mind, heart and soul to a book written by Ella. This book took me on the most amazing emotional roller coaster and had the most ugly and therapeutic cry built in. These characters were so easy to fall in love with and become one with their story. I felt the flow of the story was fantastic and I did not want to let this one go.
5 stars is not enough and I truly can’t recommend enough! Top 2019 for sure!!!
If you already read EF you’ll know the deal if you don’t prepare yourself. This is quite an emotional read. As I’m reading holy heck I’m loving both guys. You gotta love Everett he’s not the smoothest talking dude but I still like his style. He’s his own worst enemy fighting his demons. He feels he’s not worthy of Stevie so sabotage his chances. Aiden is a prince such a gentlemen very different from Everett.
She loves both and they both love her. The angst of who she’s going to choose and am I going to like her choice made this a very intriguing read. Highly recommended.
Ella Fields never seizes to amaze me with her words. After all the angst in her novels, I literally had to find a LOL book. My heart couldn’t just take more from her. Now she releases another book to tear me apart. Who am I if not a sucker for punishment? Serenading Heartbreak is only the fourth book I read from Ella Fields but I can’t find the right words to describe how she’s slowly creeping up my authors list.
Serenading Heartbreak is different from other books that I’ve read. I’ve been racking my brains but came out emptyhanded when I tried recalling if I have ever read a story as raw as this. We’ve read a lot of love triangles but this is more than words can actually explain. This is the first book, I think, that I have been so indecisive on who I was rooting for. First person POV with only the girl’s side of the story doesn’t even help in trying to figure out what comes next. The twist comes at just the right time that will have you gasping for air just to absorb what just happened. My mind was on a whirlwind having to figure out what I wanted. I wanted to stop but yet I keep on flipping the page hungry for more knives to stab my already bleeding heart. It was just beautifully written and perfectly ended. You may think you’ve got it figured out, but the changes in events will have you second guessing your thoughts until you reach the end of the line.
I’ve been so invested in all the characters because they speak to me, to the readers. I loved Stevie. Then there she goes doing something I didn’t exactly agree on and I wanted to shake some sense to her. I may not have agreed on most of her decisions, but she was beautifully written in a way that she’s hard to hate. Then there Everett –our troubled, bad rocker. Who doesn’t love them? Despite and because of their flaws, we love them. But don’t we also love some sweet, charismatic playboy athlete who’s been her friend and confidante where she can just be herself? Yes, that’s Aiden right there. So tell me? how are we going to choose between them? It was painful and confusing, it made my head hurt. Which is exactly the reason why I loved them so much. They made me feel so alive. So connected to the story.
Overall, I’d give this 4.5 stars out of 5. It’s almost there. I just wished I shed more tears. More being the keyword
Serenading Heartbreak was wow…. an emotional wild ride.
This book had me on the edge of my seat just like every Ella book, I laughed, cried, swooned, and then cried again. This is a love triangle that you didn’t expect, it’s hard to pick a team because you just want all three of them to be happy. Stevie was amazing, I loved her and I do believe she picked the right guy for her, I was so happy to see her finally get what she deserved….HAPPINESS and LOVE.
I will say this, I love Everett so much. He isn’t the easiest guy, but he is the one who had it tougher. I loved how he decides to change and do something about it.
This is another MUST read, just get ready for the ride.e
Wow! Be prepared for a whole lotta angst, gut wrenching heartache, rollercoaster moments which you will not know what way the characters are going or coming and my favorite- a love triangle. YAS!!! Ms. Fields writes emotions in such a way that you will find your rooting for both male main characters- Everett and Aiden. You want them to be worthy of Stevie’s love and that the best man to win. Without giving spoilers away, one of these men wasn’t at his best and had a terrible problem. The other man seemed like the best choice but would he be? That’s what this boils down to. I enjoyed the angsty romance with feels, the love triangle and hope that there will be a follow up story written for the gentleman who was the 3rd in the triangle. I think his story would be amazing. I know, as it pertains to SH, I cried and alternatively spent some time yelling at my Kindle when it came to this read. I was glued from start to finish. It’s emotionally charged, evocative and full of feels.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ******
If I had a hard time choosing between these two men who stole Stevie’s heart….I can’t imagine actually making the choice!
Both in different times of her life.
Both fulfilling different and necessary parts of her soul.
This story about a love triangle between a girl and the two great loves of her life absolutely snuck it’s way into my heart and detonated. I’m so torn! I’ll say that at the beginning I rooted for one but then I saw the other giving Stevie exactly what she needed in life…so I wanted that for her. So many things played a factor into her decision and I still think even now reflecting on it all that she made the best decision for herself every time. The heart wants what it wants and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it!
Then a grand reveal had my heart wishing she could keep them both but she couldn’t. So I made the choice for her! I rooted for one! It was absolutely EVERYTHING!
Ella Fields writing is exceptional and heartfelt! This entire book was amazing from the beginning to the end. I couldn’t put it down!
My absolute favorite quote from this book!
To fall in love twice was a beautiful rarity.
To be in love with two men at the same time was a cruel twist of fate.
Your soul was split right down the middle, a piece of you stolen forever.
5 THIS BOOK…STARS!! Ella Fields did her job well…..I can’t stop thinking about this book. My teeth hurt from grinding them so hard with all the angst and my heart is so tired it needs to sleep for a week. Stevie, Everett and Aiden’s story will pull you through the ringer, but it is so worth the ride. I am so happy I took the ride, but make sure to buckle up…it will jerk you around. I crave Ella Fields words and she did not disappoint, I devoured this book.
“He was a crescendo, an ever-increasing note, and there was no end in sight.”
I’m going to give you some truths right now. Two years ago I stumbled across this book called Cyanide by Ella Fields. I read the blurb and I said to myself, why not take a chance? That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made because this author has not only given me some of my favorite stories to date, her storytelling is something that you have to experience. It’s been two years since I’ve stumbled upon this author….. And I’ve been in love with the journey ever since.
Some people would be lucky to fall in love. But to fall in love twice and have it be reciprocated? That’s very rare but it’s a reality for Stevie. Falling in love with your brother’s best friend is complicated, but loving two men is even worse. Both were different as night and day but the one thing that they had in common was the woman who they would’ve given up everything for. But when complications arise and promises were broken, three lives will never be the same again.
“This love, our love, it was an entity all on its own. It stalked us wherever we roamed; a living, breathing beast that wouldn’t rest until it won. Until it was just him and me, saddled in its unshakable, never-ending embrace.
Going into this story blind is an absolute must and I’m so glad that I was fortunate to have that experience. These characters are going to test your patience like you wont believe!! This is not an easy romance story and trust me when I tell you that the angst level is pretty damn high on this one. I had to walk away a few times so I could come back with a clear head and regroup my feelings. I didn’t agree with a lot of the decisions that were being made and if I’m being quite honest, I struggled with my feelings for the heroine. Due to it being part of a spoiler, I’m just going to say that she was extremely special and I’ll leave it at that.
Now I know that this book will not be for everyone and that’s ok. This book is an extremely complicated, hair pulling, I think I need a drink, make this pain go away, type of love triangle and there’s no way you’re walking away unscathed. NO.WAY. If you think you’re brave enough to handle this kind of romance triangle, then by all means go right ahead. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Riveting, emotional story of young love.
The author brilliantly created these young characters that came to life and told us a gut wrenching story.
This is the story of Stevie and her story of loving 2 men and how they loved her back.
I was swept into Stevie’s heartbreaking journey. My god this book was brilliantly written as the emotions evoked were raw and “heartbreaking”.
Stevie was created so realistically. Told in her POV, I was taken on her journey of self discovery and young love.
Who will she have her hea with ?
Or no none?
This complex story of of that thing called love, who we choose and why?
4.5 stars!
There are books that you read and there are books that you feel, Ella Fields’ Serenading Heartbreak was one fantastic sensory overload!
Love triangles are a hard to buy into without taking sides. Ms. Fields did a great job of putting her readers in Stevie’s shoes and living the impossible choice she was confronted with. Both heroes had some amazing attributes but they were offset with just as many flaws. There were no perfect characters in this work but they were all genuine and could be anyone of us or people that we know by their very human actions. This was a beautifully messy love story. Everyone reacted from the gut in this work as friendships and hearts struggled with the consequences of their actions and words spoken before thinking. Shattered faith and broken hearts littered the pages of this work. The ambiguity where Stevie stood with the two men she was in love with was believable and well played out until the very end.
Ms. Fields was fearless in her writing, not glossing over and perfecting or fixing reactions to make things ideal. The angst and conflict of this author’s portrayals was phenomenally conveyed. A seemingly hopeless dilemma was worked through with compassion and foresight by this writer. Ella Field’s Serenading Heartbreak stands out as a near miss with tragedy and a definite not to be missed read.
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
Ella Fields never surprises me with her gorgeous stories. I couldn’t get enough of Stevie and her love Triangle. Although I loved Everett, I was rooting for Aiden. Something about rooting for the underdog. Everett was her first love and regardless of his mistakes, first loves have a way of sticking with you when you least expect it. I was floored by some of the actions each guy took to prove his worth and I would never want to be in Stevie’s position. 2 wonderful guys who love deeply in 2 separate ways.
This book had me on the edge till the last chapter. Thanks Ella!!
6 STARS if possible
This. Book. Wrecked. Me. There is really no other way to put it. Ella’s words reached into my very soul and slowly continued to squeeze as I turned the pages. This book is not about one true love but what happens when you have two, and the consequences of that. This story pulled each emotion out of me until I was completely depleted at the end, then I cried until my heart pieced itself back together and I loved Every. Single. Minute.
“You’re beautiful, but when you smile, you’re a portrait of starlit dreams.”
Everett Tyler is every girls fantasy. He has the soul of a poet but with that comes the demons of his past that he can’t seem to shake. He is unequivocally talented, he sings, plays guitar and can play piano. His soul is on display with every song lyric he writes (talk about all the swooning). His lyrics feel as if he’s reaching inside you and twinning his soul with yours. But he is also supremely damaged and utterly self-destructive. He makes a lot of poor choices which get’s him into loads of trouble not just with Stevie but the band and his friends as well. You can tell he’s trying, but is that enough?
“I let myself have it, the one tiny taste of what I’d be walking away from. A best friend. A lover. A future filled with mischievous smiles. ”
From the moment you meet Aiden you will fall head over heals in love with him. He is legit fucking perfection. He is all the things any girl would die to have. He’s genuine and kind. He is okay with being friend zoned just so he can stay part of Stevie’s life while she’s trying to figure things out. He is athletic and strong. He’s. The. Complete. Package. They only thing he isn’t is Everett. But Stevie falls in love with him for all the things he is. He becomes her best friend and her confidant. She is completely honest with him from the start regarding her feelings and his presence slowly chips away at her walls and fills the shattered pieces of her heart.
“To fall in love twice was a beautiful rarity. To be in love with two men at the same time was a cruel twist of fate. Your soul was split right down the middle, a piece of you stolen forever. ”
This story brings back all the feelings of first love. And all the heartache that comes along with that. Everett’s lost and broken soul makes me want to fill in the empty pieces. And Aiden’s sweet calming demeanor made me fall in love with him and the strength his gives to Stevie. This book was so much more than I could have ever hoped for. And by the end I did not envy Stevie in the slightest her love for these men tore her apart. My heart ached for these character’s and the choices that had to be made. But even so Ella created such a beautifully written story that will make you ache but breathe life back as well. Her words have the ability to shatter and soothe. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and get angry, but I promise you will love the journey!
Serenading Heartbreak is angsty read with a friends to lovers vibe that touches on series issues. It was good but I had a few issues with it that are spoilers so I won’t go into go into detail about them. Despite that I found it to be an enjoyable read, one that had me engaged and invested. I recommend to those who love angst and love triangles.

Omg!!!! Perfection! I have a sort of sadistic addiction to love triangles. I love to fall in love with two guys and have them battle it out for the heroine’s affections. BUT they have to be told in a way that I love both guys and this story was utterly angsty bliss. Stevie is a sweet girl that has no idea how beautiful she is…and she falls for the bad boy musician. Her broken neighbor. Her brother’s best friend Everett. He fights his feelings and breaks her heart. AND then there’s Aiden. The flirty player. The best friend who wants more. He steps up when Everett has stepped out. I get chills thinking about the pull and tug from getting her heart stomped on and still handing it over again and again. Both these men resided in her heart and I really didn’t know which way this book was going to go. Literally did not know from page to page until the very end. Such a great job keeping me on my toes and my heart in my throat. I enjoyed this emotional tangle so much and have recommended it to many people who love that angst like I do.
I started Serenading Heartbreak around 8 pm on Friday and finished it around 3 am on Saturday. Upon finishing I was a mess of emotions, so much so that I put off writing this review until I could sort and make sense of all the feelings Ella Fields invoked. This story was poignant, bittersweet, and beautiful, and it touched my heart so powerfully.
Ella Fields’s writing is always gorgeous, and this novel is no exception. I feel this title is particularly fitting, because her glorious prose is almost melodic, serenading me through a wild ride of romance, passion, heartbreak, and love.
Stevie, the heroine and narrator, falls in love with two very different men, and while she falls for them at different times in her life, the loves overlap and coexist, causing turmoil, confusion, and angst. Her journey is romantic, sexy, passionate, plagued with drama and pain, and still filled with beauty.
The writing is so powerful that I experienced every high and every low right along with Stevie. When she fell in love, I fell with her, and when her heart broke, mine ached in empathy. And somehow, Ella also managed to make me laugh (even once while I was crying), and feel excitement and giddiness.
I’m still twisted up about Serenading Heartbreak. I can’t decide on any single emotion it made me feel at the end, but the story felt so real, and so true, that the only thing I’m certain of is my absolute love of the novel.
I should be use to having my heart taken on a wild ride when reading a book Ella writes and this is no exception. First of all a love triangle for the win. Some triangles can be extreme and some just don’t make sence but when you find love not only once in a lifetime it is priceless. But nothing will ever take over your first love.
Ella has a way to weave her words into a masterpiece that is as old as time. She keeps me thinking and I had many “Oh not she didn’t” moments when reading this one.
I have read all of her books and let me just say she is one of a few indie authors that I have done this with. That to me makes her one of my definate go to automatic One-Click authors even if she wrote an instructional book.

I had to take a day after finishing this book just so I could process it and be able to write this review.
I know you might have heard this from me before but it’s still true – I have never read a love triangle quite like this one. And just to think Ella was afraid it was just gonna be another love triangle like any other… boy she has no idea. This book was I don’t even know how to describe it…it was a masterpiece. I’m remembering everything while I write this and it’s making me want to cry…it was so angsty and emotional and I just loved it so so much.
Ella truly made me feel everything alongside these three characters.. I felt, I hurt, I cried for all of them and I loved them all. Which is what is so incredibly different for me… whenever reading a love triangle I always always have a favorite that I ship with the heroine right from the start… but Ella god darn, she made me love them both equally and she made me feel so understanding of Stevie and her actions/decisions. And that has never happened before… I never truly love the heroine or agree with her actions and I am always so frustrated about what happens but Ella made me love Stevie so hard and I understood where she came from and I agreed with everything she did. She put herself first and gosh I applauded that so hard.
Stevie fell in love with two very different guys and she loved them both at the same time. All of them made mistakes but that didn’t make me love them less, it might have actually made me love them more. Oh wow, I’m still emotional here. I’m gonna need a reread soon. And you guys, the lyrics…the freaking lyrics… they were amazing and completely wrecked my heart.
Gosh there is so much more I could say about how much I loved this book and how much it made my heart ache. But I’ll wrap it up soon… I just gotta say that I loved basically every character in this book… Stevie’s family, best friend and co-workers and Everett’s band, they were all amazing characters and I just loved them. Life would be grand if Ella was planning to write books for each band member…starting with Hendrix (Stevie’s brother) and Adela (her bff).
Serenading Heartbreak was an extraordinarie love triangle that will wreck your heart, having you falling in love alongside Stevie and take you on a complete rollercoaster of feelings. Ella created a masterpiece here and I am so incredibly proud of her and just astonished at how amazing she is!!! Gosh, her books just get better and better and this book surprised me in the best way! There are no words to how much I loved it!
Serenading Heartbreak has no shortage of angst and in true Ella Fields fashion she will shred your heart into a million pieces, put it back together just to tear it apart all over again. Stevie, Aiden and Everett will make you laugh, cry and drive you down right crazy. This love triangle was beyond messy and Im still trying to wrap my head around it all because I loved these characters so much. My heart still hurts because even though I knew one of these men wouldn’t get the girl it still sucked. So much heartache! This book will keep you up way past your bedtime and leave you with a killer book hangover, but so worth it!!
There’s a reason Ella Fields is one of my favorite authors. She does angst like no one else. She pulls me in and I end up an emotional mess in the best way. Stevie is in a love triangle. She falls for Aiden, but when her first love, Everett, comes back on the scene she knows she’s going to hurt someone she loves. She loves them both so fiercely. My emotions were all over the place. This book was amazing and had all the feels I crave as a reader! Read this book, you won’t be able to put it down till them end. Then it will leave an impression on your heart forever!
I say this with so much love Ella you are the QUEEN of angst.. guys this book wow just wow!! i feel like with every book that comes out of yours they just keep getting better and better and then serenading heartbreak came into my hand and i was completely blown away..
The angst, the romance, the connection between the characters and i guess it is love triangle was just explosive and there were times i was on the edge of my seat.. there were tears and so much emotion reading this book i am lost for words and i didn’t want it to end.
congratulations lovely on such a beautiful book everyone this is one of my top reads of 2019 <3
