From bestselling author Ella Fields comes a new standalone love triangle romance. My first love was my brother’s best friend. A lead singer in their band.A picture of rugged perfection. And a chance at something beautiful and true.
The problem with having a first and second love?
That would be loving them at the same time.
My story isn’t some sexy triangle.
It’s exquisite agony.
Fate gave me two men to love,
but none of us knew which one I could keep.

Angst, angst and more angst. Is it possible to love two men? It’s even harder to chose. Stevie’s Heart is put through the grinder again and again. Once you think it will be okay. Another obstacle comes and throws another knife in the mix. So good!
A rollercoaster of emotions, that’s what this story will make you feel.
Many times you are gonna walk away to take a long breath, I did. Ella Fields evokes many emotions with this story.
Stevie journey of love and pain between Everette and Aiden is gonna make you wanna pull your hair out. Decisions need to be made and heartbreak needs to happen. But what decision will it be?
I know this review is vague, but I don’t wanna give anything away. Just know that is an amazing read, that is gonna make you scream out loud.
4 Stars read!
Holy heartbreak! If there is one thing Ella Fields is good at it’s the emotional wreckage she creates in your heart.
Stevie’s story is an emotional roller coaster I couldn’t get off of even when I wanted to. I felt my heart being ripped out piece by piece as I cried like a baby. Everytime something good happened something came crashing down.
Serenading Heartbreak is soul crushingly beautiful. Stevie and Everett’s story is anything but a fairytale. It’s real and raw. Ella Fields has a way of bringing out any and all emotions you can feel. She can rip your heart out run it over and then somehow make it whole again. Ella Fields has a way of emotionally scarring you, and leaving you wanting more all at the same time.
“To fall in love twice was a beautiful rarity. To be in love with two men at the same time was a cruel twist of fate. Your soul was split right down the middle, a piece of you stolen forever,”
Serenading Heartbreak is exactly what you expect when you read an Ella Fields book. She hooks you from the start and never lets you go. I cried, I cursed, I screamed, I laughed, and then I cried, and cursed some more. I’ve never wanted to shake two people more than when I was reading this book.
Ella Fields held absolutely nothing back when she wrote Serenading Heartbreak. Almost every single word was written to bring out deep emotions.
Serenading Heartbreak may just be my favorite Ella Fields book to date! All the stars for Ella, Stevie, Everett and even Prince!!
What can I say about this book that has not already been said? From beginning to end, I just could not get enough. The author just has a way with words. She made me feel all the feels. She made me laugh, cry and she tugged at my heart strings. I had to read this book twice in order to soak everything in. I cannot wait to see what this author has in stored for us next.
Holy smokes! Amazing! This love triangle had me feeling so many emotions that I think my husband was really to get me help. I don’t even have words for a review because it was so fantastic I would hate to ruin it for anyone. IT’S A MUST READ!!! All I can say is Ella Fields can write! I’m so happy to have found her and I will definitely read more of her books.
I have to start this review being honest, when I hear “love triangle”, I always run the other way. I don’t like love triangles because someone always gets hurt. Someone always loses. But Ella Fields has become my one click author, I will read anything she writes because her stories are real, with lots of FEELS, and that angst that I’ve become so addicted to and Ella is the perfect one to give me my fix.
SERENADING HEARTBREAK is about heartbreak (obviously), about falling in love twice and making the right decision in order to get the happiness we deserve. Ella did a beautiful job with this story, with all the emotions and angst it was truly a masterpiece.
Stevie fell in love with two different guys, Everett and Aiden. Not at the same time but eventually she will have to make a hard choice and choose between the two. She will have to follow her heart. I love that this book makes me think A LOT about this situation. Personally, I think that it’s impossible to love two people at the same time, so I was in a constant war with my emotions and with Stevie, because for me, the ONE true love is just ONE. Two is not a possibility. Therefore there is a choice and there is a broken heart.
If you love “love triangle” stories, this book is for you. And if you don’t, please give it a try because I did and I loved it! The characters were so real with all their flaws and problems that make this story so believable that you will find yourself in a storm of feelings that will be hard to survive. I’ll be here with my mending heart waiting not so patiently for her next story.
All the angst lovers will love this one.
What a journey this book was. I was happy, sad and fearful of how the story was going to pan out. I do love a love triangle but by heart hates it!
Stevie was young when she met Everett, her brothers best friend and fell for him pretty hard. Everett was equally engrossed with Stevie. She felt it in her soul that she was meant to love him, but timing and him leaving gave her new perspective and then she meets Aiden, who although, it takes her a while to forget about Everett, he eventually weaves his way into her heart. When Everett appears again, everything she thought she had buried slowly starts to rise, but trust has been broken and she needs to decide where her heart lies.
.
Stevie – sometimes I felt she was too naive and needed to speak up more with her feelings
Everett – is a troubled soul and doesn’t always do what is best, but he’s persistent
Aiden – he’s the good guy, the one that makes her feel safe and protected
.
The book titles says it all, there is heartbreak and the skillful writing from Fields that will have your heart all over the place as it pulls you in all directions, loving one, then the other and the angst just builds and builds but let’s not forget about the feels both these men give with their love for Stevie.
.
Yes it a love triangle, but there is no cheating and you will feel love, hate and pain throughout but this is truly an exceptional read.

Wow, this book had so much angst with a love triangle. Two loves to choose from who will it be? The rock star that drinks too much and can’t commit? The ball player that can’t stay faithful? A heartbreaking read and so much drama. I loved it!
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
*4,5 stars*
This book has been such an emotional rollercoaster that won’t leave your eyes dry! It just tugs on so many heartstrings you can’t help but feel for every character written in this story. It’s not your typical triangle love story and if you are hesitant to read it if you think there’s cheating involved, please read it ‘cuz it’s definitely not the road the author is taking. Definitely a must read!
Stevie has always had a mind of her own and doesn’t let anything deter her. When she and Everett first meet, there’s an instant chemistry between them but there’s just something about Everett that has a darker side but she doesn’t know what it is that’s holding him down. When Everett goes on the road with her brother trying to get their band off the ground, it’s not an easy road. Even though their bond has gotten stronger and their relationship changes, it seems they are further apart. And when it goes from bad to worse, she doesn’t know what to do anymore… Now after a long time, she meets Aidan and feelings start to grow between them. Even though Everett is not far from her mind, she has to do what’s right for her and try to let go of the past… But when Everett comes back into her life, he wants another chance. Stevie doesn’t know what to do but when an event happens, it’ll get harder for her to see through it all… Will they be able to move on?…
5+ Stars.
Ella Fields writes angst and romance like no one else does. Most of all this story frustrated the hell out of me, I was chewing my nails and cursing out loud, but I loved every minute of reading this author’s wonderful work.
I think from the minute I started reading this story of a love triangle between Stevie, Everett and Aiden, I fell in love with both men just like Stevie had, but along the way, this author very cleverly toyed with my emotions pulling my heart this way and that. Both the men were so different in personalities, both had good and bad qualities which made it hard for Stevie to decide which man she should choose. Life and the decisions Stevie had to make were at times incredibly hard, I had great respect for this young lady who put up with a lot of crap along the way but still held her head high.
Ella Fields writing is always so good and this book is no exception. The way she captures the chemistry, which is not always good between the three main characters is spellbinding, With some exceptional secondary characters, Ella Fields writing pulled it all together to make this, for me, an outstanding book that I can’t recommend highly enough.
Son of a fucking bitch… I.. Holy shit!
OUCH. My stupid, stupid, stupid heart.
I don’t even know where to begin. Ms. Fields has flawed me.
I’m ruined. I’m completely and utterly ruined.
If you are new to Ella’s books… Be warned that this author is ruthless when it comes to angst. It quite literally crippled me for the last 24hours. I have been sitting and staring at this review section, completely mind fucked and struggling to put into words how I am feeling. I know I felt about the book. It was fucking amazing. IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD! But trying to word that? That’s a lot harder…
I’m sitting here, thinking… Who hurt you, Ms. Fields? Because what I just read is crushing me still and it has been 24 hours.
How do I put into words just how amazing this book is? Firstly, the author is known for her angst. She is the queen of angst… Seriously, if you want to hurt, read her books. Do you want an ugly cry factor? It’s all Ella Fields. She SLAYS!
So, in Serenading Heartbreak, we have a love triangle…
We have Stevie, in love with two men… She’s young, beautiful she’s naive, yet she isn’t. Mistakes were gonna happen. Decisions had to be made… and hearts were gonna be broken… INCLUDING MINE!!!
Everett and Aiden. Both love her… Both completely different kinds of men.
One is rough as hell, lead singer of a band and Stevie brothers best friend, the bad boy type… The other is an arrogant baseball player, a best friend, and a charmer and probably the smart choice…
Stevie knows Everett through her brother Hendrix, they’ve known each other for many many years, growing up together. She was smitten with him from the moment they met, and as time goes on, they both grow up and what started as a garage band is on to bigger and better things, which means Everett is off on tour and Stevie is left behind… But that love she had for him never wavered, not really anyway. But it didn’t stop her from having to get on with her life and when she meets Aiden, it’s as though she has a second chance at love again. They were close, they knew each other well and matched for each other… But when Everett comes waltzing back into her life. Everything she has built and everything she knows so well gets turned upside down and she is left loving two men…
This isn’t some sexy as hell threesome, menage kind of romance… God no. Hearts will be broken, emotions will be high and mistakes will be made between all three of them. All three young and learning about life as they go along. This book ripped me to a fucking piece. I wanted to curse the author out and hug her at the same time. I was strung the fuck out and once I got to the end… That didn’t ease, it still hasn’t… I’M STILL STRUGGLING! My heart hurts, my mind is reeling and… Yeah, I still want to curse out the author and hug her. She is a genius and this amazing story is a prime example of why she is crown the queen of angst in my eyes. She plays these characters perfectly. They are all complex and they all have unique traits. Stevie’s personality bounced off both of these men, which is strange because these two men couldn’t be any more different… And if you think I am about to choose who I loved more? I can’t… I cannot answer that…
I wish I could dive deeper into this, but what would be the fun in that? I think I have said too much as is, but seriously? This is pure gold. I fucking loved it… As much as it continues to gut punch me even hours, almost days after the I finished… I will be going back and reading again, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will gut me alive like the first time around.
Ella Fields is in a league of her own in my opinion, she is different, she pushes boundaries and she will have clutching that kindle so damn tight you may break it in two, or throw it across the room… Which is what I did. I cried I laughed, I got angry, I was shaking and I cried, did I mentioned I cried? ….. Ughhhh Emotions! I honestly can’t put into words just how phenomenal this read was.
Highly recommend it. I can’t recommend it enough!
READ THE BOOK! You will not be disappointed!
6/5 Stars!!
Ella Fields is the queen of angst! I absolutely devoured this book! It deserves 10 freaking stars!! It is heartbreakingly beautiful and I would recommend to everyone who needs an amazing read!!
I knew going into this story it would be full of angst, but OH MY GOD. I can’t even begin to describe my love for this story. THIS BOOK DESERVES A MILLION STARS.
Stevie Sandrine meets her first love as a teenager. Everett Taylor is the new kid in town, he is the new mysterious neighbor and quickly becomes best friends and eventually bandmates with her brother, Hendrix. Stevie believes Everett is her soulmate, her one love in life, but she is left heartbroken. She learns to live her life, that maybe things with Everett just aren’t meant to be. In college she meets her second love, baseball player Aiden Prince. The complete opposite of Everett. She loves both men, but which one will be her forever?
Serenading Heartbreak was emotional, it was beautiful and I couldn’t get enough of this story of these characters, of their relationship. This book will WRECK YOU but it will also mend your heart, only to break it all over again. I felt the pain Stevie did. My heart broke for her, but despite the pain she still managed to come out on top.
I know that not everyone is a fan of love triangles in books, and yes that is a major part of this story, but it is beautiful, it is emotional and honestly, you can’t help but fall in love with both Everett and Aiden for many different reasons. Though, there were many, many times I wanted to slap them both!
Serenading Heartbreak is one of my top books of 2019. It is a MUST READ. Seriously, pick up this book ASAP!
I’m just going to say, one click and read this one! One page, I’m biting my nails, the next page, I’m wanting to toss my kindle across the room. The next chapter, I’m crying… The next chapter I’m swooning and feeling like everything will be ok for everyone involved….then I turn the page and feel that piercing going straight through my heart. I tell ya, I’ve ridden some awesome roller-coasters in my life but this one takes the cake!
How does one pick when you are in love wholly with two totally different men?
This story gave me all the right feelings that are expected when reading a book chocked full of love. Full of heartaches. Full of everything!
You will feel high on a cloud one moment and lower than life the next. One thing though, you will read each page and won’t stop until the very last page!!!
Totally enjoyed reading this one!
Love triangles are my favorite reads. I love angst in my books. I love to feel the push, pull, heartbreak, and anguish. But they have to be done just the right way for me to feel all the feels I’m looking for and this one was!
First loves I think are the hardest to overcome. To be so young and vulnerable and even a little naive. To let your heart go for that first time… it’s hard to get it back. To fall in love with someone else and let that first love go is almost impossible but that is where “Clover” finds herself. Loving two men at one time. Trying to let one go for the sake of the other one. I felt the anguish and heartbreak right along with her.
This was well written and I loved all of the secondary characters too!
Serenading Heartbreak was an emotionally charged rollercoaster ride read like no other. My poor heart had no clue what lay ahead and still hasn’t fully recovered from this book. There have been some books that I’ve read for the pure enjoyment and others like Serenading Heartbreak that I just couldn’t help but feel every emotion possible all within the span of a truly poignant read.
From first love to new love and finding one that’s forever these amazing characters took me on a turbulent journey that pulled my emotions every which way possible. I fell in love with both Everett and Aiden and couldn’t imagine having to be in Stevie’s shoes. I was so torn as I experienced the exhilarating joy of first love to the utter devastation of its loss and then the hesitant hope of new love. I sighed, swooned, raged, ranted and let’s not even mention the tears I shed as I rooted so hard for these characters.
By the end my heart felt like it had been through the blender after being repeatedly broken and put back together again. The angst, heartbreak, and every emotion possible I could feel consumed me while reading this book. Some loves are messy, raw, painful, yet extraordinarily beautiful like the love found inside the pages of this spellbinding and emotionally charged book. Serenading Heartbreak is a definite must read that will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
To fall in love twice was a beautiful rarity. To be in love with two men at the same time was a cruel twist of fate. Your soul was split right down the middle, a piece of you stolen forever.
Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields is an emotional, breathtaking, heartwrenching story! The angst is real with this one ya’ll! I finished Serenading Heartbreak days ago and my emotions are STILL all over the place. The angst, the love, the heartbreak, I just… I can’t even describe it. If you are looking for an angsty af love triangle, Serenading Heartbreak is the one for you. I’m struggling with writing this review, you guys. I really don’t want to give away ANYTHING! This is one of those brilliant books that are just that much better if you go in completely blind and form your own opinions of each and every amazing character.
What happens when you find your first true love, and then are lucky enough to find a second true love… and then having to make the ultimate decision.
Choosing between the two.
Stevie Sandrine was smitten with the dark and dirty, brooding bad boy across the street the moment she saw him. Everett Taylor quickly became her brothers best friend and bandmate and as the years went by Everett started to see Stevie the way she saw him. Much more than just his best friends little sister.
Hearts are such unpredictable things, you can never control to whom they might sing.
But as they were growing from kids to teens, to adults, their band was as well.
Just when Stevie and Everett finally give in to their attraction, the band takes off on a tour across America.
Leaving a heartbroken Stevie behind.
The love she had for Everett never wavered but after having no contact with him Stevie tried to repair her broken heart. Convinced that she’d never love again.
He’d been my dream since I’d first laid eyes on him, and I gave up on him when he’d turned into a nightmare.
But Stevie learned the hard way that love has no bounds, there are no rules to love, no rhyme or reason. It just happens, most of the time when you least expect it.
And that’s when life throws Aiden Prince, the charming, cocky, clean-cut baseball player, directly in her path.
After some convincing on Aiden’s part, Stevie takes another chance on love. From friends to lovers, to so much more.
A love that rivaled another.
But when Everett suddenly comes waltzing back into her life everything she has built with Aiden is turned upside down.
Stevie is being pulled in two separate directions with two very different futures awaiting on her depending on who she chooses.
Her heart belongs to two men, but it beats for only one.
What do you do when you are in love with two people?
WHO do you choose?
HOW do you make a seemingly impossible choice?
You deserve to be someone’s entire world. Their first and only choice.
Two incredible men entered Stevie’s life at completely different times, but each when she needed them the most. She loves so fiercely and so deeply that she has enough love for not one, but two men. Without a shred of doubt, both of these guys are completely in love with her. Both of them are completely different. Both have made mistakes, neither is perfect. But decisions have to be made and hearts are going to be broken. How can you give your whole heart away when all the little pieces already belong to someone else?
…when the heart was desperate, it was capable of ignoring whatever it needed to.
You guys, my heart will never be the same. I’ve been on a rollercoaster ya’ll! Seriously, I have laughed, I have cried (yes, I freaking cried!), I’ve yelled, I’ve cussed, I’ve thrown shit… Ella Fields is an absolute genius when it comes to writing angsty romance, and Serenading Heartbreak is the definition of ANGST! This story… what a phenomenal read. Serenading Heartbreak isn’t the kind of book that you’ll forget as soon as you are finished with the last page. This one is going to stick with you for a long time to come. Every time it’s mentioned you’ll remember all the feelings that this one invoked.
Like the sun and the moon, we’d always revolve around one another, doomed to dance on opposing sides of fate.
I fell for both of these guys just as quick as Stevie did. They both have that SOMETHING that makes it damn near impossible not to. I am completely torn, you guys. I have no idea how Stevie was able to make a choice because there is absolutely no way I could have. I loved both of these guys so, so much. They both have their flaws, but when they love… sheesh, when they love they love so hard. If this type of book doesn’t invoke some kind of emotions from you then you aren’t reading it right!
Up until the last few chapters, I was STILL undecided on who I wanted Stevie to choose. Who am I kidding, I’m still undecided about how I feel about her choice. But ultimately, I do think it was the right one. A love like that… how could she have possibly made any other choice? Ultimately, the heart wants what the heart wants. I, on the other hand, I still can’t choose. Don’t ask me too. I won’t even try.
I was so invested in these characters. I felt like I was right alongside Stevie. I didn’t want her to choose. I didn’t want to see either of these incredible guys hurt. I wanted everyone to get a happy ending. But in the end, there was a choice to make. Thankfully it seems that eventually, BOTH did get their happily ever after.
We were never supposed to make something out of moments. We were always meant to build something out of lifetimes.
These characters. Unbelievably realistic. They all have their own unique personalities and flaws. The secondary characters, the band, Stevie’s best friend, Hendrix, they all added that little something extra to the story. I would LOVE if Hendrix got his own story… maybe with Adela?
Love was a messy, drunk-ass son of a bitch.
To Miss Ella Fields, I don’t normally write DIRECTLY to the author in my reviews, but with this one, I HAVE to. You are the QUEEN of fucking with my emotions and completely ruining me. I am literally RAW right now after finishing this book. You have pushed my boundaries and you have broken my heart, a few times now! And then slowly but surely, piece by piece, page by page, put it back together again. BRAV-FUCKING-O!
Serenading Heartbreak is an absolute MUST READ. If you are looking for an angsty, emotional story about three young adults learning about life and love. Then Serenading Heartbreak is the story for you. Trust me, they don’t get much better than this.
I highly, highly recommend Serenading Heartbreak!
When things get hard, you don’t run away, and you don’t give up. You plant two feet into the ground, remember the roots you’ve grown, the life and love you’ve nurtured, and you fight.

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL STORY! I mean honestly, you can’t get much better than this. I would give it many, many more than 5 stars if I could!
STEAMY AF! Not only do we have one male lead that’s sexy and all alpha as hell, but we have TWO!
Cliffhanger Warning: NO cliffhanger. There is a happily ever after, for everyone. But it happens AFTER a whole lot of heartbreak.
.
Five heartbreaking stars
I went into this book knowing how Ella Fields writes and kind of thinking l had an idea of what to expect, I was wrong, so completely wrong…
The thing about Ella is that she has the incredible talent of breaking your heart into tiny little pieces but she finds the way of putting it back together if you have ever read any of her books, you know what I mean. If you haven’t, then read this beautiful story and you’ll understand. She is called after all the Queen of Angst and she is!
So, about Serenading Heartbreak, where do I start. I am a spoiler-free reviewer and I want to share my experience, reading it without giving away the whole thing.
I remember last weekend after reading the epigraph and the first chapter only, my first reaction was…Oh, fuck! She will smash my freaking heart and I wasn’t wrong, she did! I had this nagging feeling throughout the whole time I was reading it; I felt as if my heart was in my throat and my chest was squeezing the air out of my lungs. It was that good!!!!
Stevie, man! She was what we would say between a rock and a hard place when it came to her two beautiful and very different men.
“Love was a messy, drunk-ass son of a bitch.”And her love story was. There’s no other way to describe it. It was a messy love story and not because of the way it was written, not at all. But because it was easy for me to get it, I mean I have never been in that situation but that’s the thing about Ella, she made me feel as if it was me and that is something so remarkable and it gives you an idea of how good she is with her words.
Stevie and Everett and Aiden. To end this review, I’ll just say that I was 90% into the book and I had no idea what how it was going to end. I loved Stevie, she was brave and vulnerable but strong nonetheless. And well Ever and Aiden made it very hard for her to decide what to do.
Thank you, Ella, for another great story!
ARC provided by Candi Kane but it was reviewed because I chose to do it.
I just…
I mean…
Uhhh…
This was…everything? This book was everything the cover shows. Gorgeous flowers surrounding words that represent beautiful pain.
Alright so I’ll start by saying this, I’m always honest with you. This is about a love triangle. And as far as love triangles go, this about matched the definition of the genre. Stevie was truly in love with two men. And so was I.
I loved them both equally and wholly differently. I think that in the end, I might have chosen differently because I’m older and I have different expectations but nothing about these two relationships was easy. Both were littered in too many feelings, too much baggage. They were intertwined, twisted, and folded into each other in the scariest of ways. She loved both men and both men loved her. She had to choose but most of the time, the decision was made for her. It wasn’t until life got in the way that a decision had to be made.
Don’t let this scare you away. Even if you don’t like love triangles but you’re a reader who likes to push yourself? This is the book to do it with. Push yourself and take the plunge. I can’t tell you what happens or who she picks but I can tell you this: I agree with, I’m extremely happy with, and I’m one hundred percent confident in her decision. This book was phenomenal. At the end of the day, books are sometimes an escape. But other times, when you crave a story that will impact you, show you something about yourself, teach you patience and the true meaning of love…this is the book you should pick up.
Not only was it brilliantly and flawlessly written, but it was also a beautiful story about life and understanding that sometimes it’s messy. It’s messy as hell. And you absolutely cannot tell your heart who and what to love. You can’t change how the wind blows. You just have to ride the wave and that’s what I did.
I pushed past my uncomfortability, took a deep breath, and rode the wave. And I’m really really happy that I did. This was amazing.
If you love angst, off-the-charts chemistry, laughter, friends-to-lovers, a whole lot of swoon, and a dash of painful reality…this is the book for you.
Well done, Ella Fields. Well done.
*ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review*
Serenading Heartbreak is early in the top 5 books I’ve read this year, and that’s saying something when I’ve some amazing books by some even more amazing authors. Ella has a way of writing that captures the heart of her characters, bring them to life front of center of her books.
Stevie, Everett and Aiden’s story grabbed my attention from the very first and didn’t let go. Their story is heartbreakingly beautiful, full of every emotion possible, and left me breathless. This story is about trust, loss, faith and believing in the good of people. It will leave the reader gasping to the very end!
