September Breeze by Nikki Lynn Barrett is book two of A Cinnamon Bay Romance Series. This book can be read as a standalone. I couldn’t put this book down. There was so much emotion, I just had to read through to see how it all played out.
Brian is a single father of two. His daughters are troubled after experiencing the loss of their mother. He really needs a long term nanny that won’t quit after dealing with his two girls. Tess doesn’t often stay in one place very long. It’s too hard not to try to out run her painful past. When a chance to write songs on a movie set brings her to Cinnamon Bay, she can’t help but want to stick around for a bit which ends up leading her to Brian’s door. Brian needs long term and Tess doesn’t do long term. She changes their lives instantly but will she be able to stick around for them?
I really enjoyed this book! It was definitely emotional at times but you could connect to the characters and were invested in their story.
I am already in love with this series! In September Breeze, we meet Brian, a hometown math teacher, and Tess, a wandering songwriter who has no intention of creating roots. The magic of Cinnamon Bay (along with a little help from the town matchmaker’s!) bring these two together in an emotional story of love, heartbreak, and healing.
Brian is a widowed father of two young girls who, even several years later, are having a very difficult time dealing with their mother’s death. He is in desperate need of a live-in nanny to help with the girls, but the girls have their own ideas about who he should be looking for. Tess is looking for a temporary place to stay and a part time job while in town writing songs for a movie and can’t pass up the perfect job offer! Will the magic of Cinnamon Bay bring these two together, or will their tragic pasts keep them apart forever?
This one brings out all the feels! Be prepared for laughing, crying, sometimes frustration in wanting to tell them what to do and not being able to, and a complete rollercoaster of emotions as you fall in love with this small town and its quirky characters! Definitely well deserving of my 5 stars!
SEPTEMBER BREEZE is a story set in. Cinnamon Bay. Small town romance is totally in my wheel house and books with soundtracks are even better.
This town is filled with quirkiness (most especially in the form of three amazing women who want the best for their town). The characters are relatable and easy to read. There are sweet moments and nose sniffling sad moments.
I am a huge fan of this author and look forward to finding other stories set in Cinnamon Bay.
This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much if not more than the first. This is a second chance book that has characters that pop off the pages and maybe even pull at the heartstrings. Brian is need of a nanny to take care of his girls and Tess is a song writer that needs a place to stay. What will happen when life throws Brian a curveball? Will Tess be there to help? Strong characters that you can imagine being friends with. I highly recommend this book.
A highly entertaining, heartwarming romance that had me laughing, crying and so content a the end. Was a great read from beginning to end and I defiantly recommend this read to anyone who loves small town romance and hard won second chances.
This story takes you on an emotional journey – and because I’m going through an emotional time in my own life, I didn’t have the energy to connect with the characters as much as I think I would have had I read this book at another time. I do love how Nikki Lynn Barrett makes the characters real and puts the story on a realistic timeline so that you can emotionally invest in the story and get the payback of a satisfying ending.

The second book in the Cinnamon Bay series a well written story that once I started I was not putting down until I had finished. Four people come together through the meddling of three older women. They are Tess Dixon a songwriter whose family believed a lie and put her through a lot of heartache, she now can not stay in one place because of it. Then there is single father Brian Taylor who has been diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa an eye disease and his two daughters Tatum who has not spoken in four years and Alice who is adventurous and wild, they watched as their Mother died. There is a great storyline and the pages flow smoothly from one to the other. I recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brian and Tess both lost. He lost his wife when she was reckless and died in front of their daughters causing them emotional scars. She lost her siblings when she was committed to a psych ward for crimes she didn’t commit against their father and they wouldn’t listen to her side of the story. She’s found healing in song writing and the money she’s made to help her build a case against the real criminal. But it’s hard to trust again when your own family doesn’t believe you. The nanny position with Brian was just supposed to be the potential for a place to stay while she wrote songs for the movie set nearby in Cinnamon Bay, but she fell for Brian and his daughters Tatum and Alice and they fell for her right back. Tess is afraid to commit and Brian is dealing with physical challenges which come up between them. There was plenty of humor, sad moments, and love in this second chances summer romance.
When Tess gets accused of helping her father kill himself she leaves her younger siblings which she helped raise and started writing songs. She comes to Cinnamon Bay has a songwriter for a movie filming where when she meets the Taylor family. Brian lost his wife four years ago and now he is raising his two young daughters alone but he needs a nanny and Tess needs a place to stay. This is emotional sweet romance with some adorable little girls and the towns three matchmakers.

I really liked this book it was a good emotional read that will have you laughing one minute and close to tears the next. I love a good single dad romance so Tess and Brian’s book was just up my street it is the second book in the series and I really would recommend it.
All she was looking for was a temporary place to stay. What she got was so much more. Tess is a song writer who came to Cinnamon Bay for a job. When living arrangements were not taken care of, she finds herself with an ad in hand and out of curiosity drives to the home of Brian. One look and he knew she was something special but Tess has so drama she was trying to outrun and make right. When she gets a phone call and rushes back to her childhood home, Brian and his children wonder if they will see Tess again. Will they ever get closure?

September Breeze is an emotional story at times, but I’m so glad I had the chance to read it. I’m loving these Cinnamon Bay books and I plan on reading all of them. This story is centered around Tess and Brian. She’s a songwriter that’s in town to work on an upcoming movie. He’s a single dad, that teaches math and coaches. Tess meets him when the resident matchmakers make sure she sees an ad in the paper and her curiosity gets her to go check out the house. I loved these characters so much, especially Alice and Tessa, Brian’s two daughters. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I recommend this book to everyone that loves an emotional read.
September Breeze was one of those books that sucks you right in and you just can’t put it down. I loved Tess and Brian’s chemistry. My emotions were all over the place. I absolutely loved it, and I highly recommend it.
