Vegas, Viscous Exes, and Ventilators.
My life felt like a fast ride on a too short highway. Coming home should be roses and rainbows, but nothing that comes out of the desert blooms free. I was most certainly not free. I’d missed my payment to Blaine, owed the last client a hundred grand I didn’t have, and my father was on his deathbed. To make matters worse, Wes was missing in action. As in, no … action. As in, no one had seen or heard from him in three weeks. Devastation didn’t begin to explain where my mental state was at.
Like anything life had thrown my way, I pulled on my big girl panties, not the sexy lacy ones I enjoyed teasing my guy with, but the kind that said, “This ass means business.”
I had no choice but to make the decision I made.
My ex, the man that ruined the concept of love for me, put my father in the hospital, was about to get everything he ever wanted…at least that’s what I led him to believe.

Las Vegas is full of crazy, viscous Exes, and Ventilations Machines.
Mia’s life felt like a crazy spiral roller coaster on a too short highway. Mia thought that coming home should be all roses and rainbows, but nothing that comes out of it. Mia was most certainly not free. Mia had missed her ninth payment to Blaine who was owed by the last client a hundred grand, that Mia didn’t have yet, with her father on his deathbed. To make life worse for Mia, Wes was missing in action. None of his parents or other friends hadn’t seen or heard from him in three weeks. Heartache didn’t begin to explain where my mental status was at.
Like everything Mia’s life had thrown at her. Mia decided to pulled on her big girl panties. The big girl panties that stated “This ass means business.”I only wore the sexy lacy ones that i definitely enjoyed teasing my guy with. Mia had no choice but to make the decision she did.
Mia’s ex Blaine, the man that ruined the concept of love for her had put Mia’s father in the hospital, and was about to get everything he ever wanted…or at least that’s what Mia led him to believe.
Audrey Carlan is amazing. If i could give more than 5 * i would.
In September, Mia is heading back to Las Vegas to face her ex, the man who played a game that broke her heart and taught her who he really was, the same man who put her father in the hospital. With the happening in Washington D.C., Mia missed a payment to the loan shark, and now she has to face him to try to work something out. She needs to know whether he will work with her or if he is going to ask more from her than she is willing to give. She needs to decide whether there is a limit to what she’ll do to keep her father, her sister, and her best friend safe from this criminal element. Again, we learn so much more about Mia and her family in this month. She has a lot more backbone than she has shown, but she also puts herself out on a limb that might be unnecessary. And Max is ready to step in and step up if need be. He has his own demons and feelings to face.
This series is a beautiful piece of art. I feel that way about a book when the author can paint beautiful, vivid and powerful images in my head. I also consider this, a piece of art because this author wrote this series and it is unlike any other series I have ever read. It kept my attention and I did not set the books down until I finished them, and that is not is not an easy task with me because of my work and I have 3 beautiful younger children. This series made me step back and ask myself if I should step out of my comfort zone more. Thank you for this beaitiful series.
I liked the drama of this installment in the series. It wasn’t just about meeting new people and learning her life lesson. There was suspense and danger and it made it much more entertaining to read.
I love that Mia is so invested in her decision now that she finally made one. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series will go now.
I also am loving the addition of Maxwell to her life. I think it will only benefit her.
