“One of the best historical novels I’ve had the pleasure to read in years.” – WorkingGirl Reviews.
“The story was captivating, the characters real, the dialogue crisp. I admit to having cried and laughed and even having wanted to murder a character and beat another one within an inch of his life — which is simply a testament to how well written these books are.” – AmericanEditor.

I had put this book down twice not intending to finish it, finished another book and decided to finish this one. Not my kind of story line at all, I feel robbed, I dedicated so much time to read this and regret it tremendously.
Ok. Very predictable
not a feel good read, but realistic
I want a book that ends, even if it is part of a series. This was more like an installment.
It began a little slow, but the character development was worth it. Very poignant and endearing.
Read this book and the two other in the series. Very well written and descriptive of England and New York.
you can put this one back on the shelf. It has nothing to offer.
The author made me hate many of the characters in the book. In doing so, it is difficult to say I enjoyed the book. However, these characters have haunted me as I moved on to other books. So I have to say, “Well played.” To the author.
This book does not provide any real closure. Disappointed in how the story ended.
Hated the ending…..left hanging
This book was well written and extremely engaging. It also had a number stereotyped characters. I can’t rate as good because the book ended with a cliffhanger. It was not clear that this book was part of a series. However, even if it was, this story, was not adequately finished. Often books end without concluding every story line of every …
A well written book in the first of a multi-book saga. A story of a young girl whose life is forever changed by events beyond her control.
If I read it, it was excellent !!!!! I READ IT. JAK, jr.
Couldn’t get interested in it, disappointing.
Very maudlin.
Too long. Story went on and on
Heart rending story line. I was hoping for something more uniquely New Zealand. The only thing kiwi is the place names
Started to read this book. Just couldn’t get into it. After a few boring sessions of trying to gain interest, I just gave up.
One in a series with reoccurring characters-sadness, Joy, pain, thrumph, love
Goes The gamut-with emotions, action & wondering what’s happening next
Wish author could cont series
