“One of the best historical novels I’ve had the pleasure to read in years.” – WorkingGirl Reviews.
“The story was captivating, the characters real, the dialogue crisp. I admit to having cried and laughed and even having wanted to murder a character and beat another one within an inch of his life — which is simply a testament to how well written these books are.” – AmericanEditor.

Loved this book! Eye opening to what people ,who live in other cultures, deal with. Well written and read all of the follow up books, as well.
Depressing. Not at all what o was expecting.
Great book couldn’t put it down. Had to buy the other three in series
Slow-starter but eventually picked up. Was annoyed that it was not clear in the beginning that this was a cliff-hanger; next book nowhere to be found.
You must know, that the story is not an easy read as well as a cliff hanger basically.
I followed the story through all of the series. It was well written and the characters were well rounded. I feel as though I know them personally..
Really liked this book. Very descriptive language. Ending made me want to read the next book.
This series was wonderful. I couldn’t stop after the first book and read them all within the week.
