I loved the modern take on witches that was portrayed in book one and the second instalment does not disappoint! Sisterhood, love and betrayal, Lucifer, goddesses, evil warlocks and alternate realms… if you a looking for a strong female character to cheer on, then look no further than Al, as she goes on an epic rescue mission to save her missing friends. This book has some exciting twists and turns and it cannot be second-guessed, however, I was a little lost at times and would have loved a little more of a link between this book and the first one, as it was a little while since I read the first book and hence felt a little lost until my memory got jigged along the way. Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to the third book and I think the combination of kick-ass sassy ladies, magic, and the strength of friendship, just cannot be praised enough. If you like supernatural themes, then this book will not let you down (Though I’d definitely recommend you begin with the first book!)
Awakened is the first book in the Semiramis series, and we start of with Al, who is our main female. She is a strong character, who also seems a bit absent-minded at times. She is working in a place where she is unhappy, but has Daisy there to keep her company. Things change when she has a car accident, and her life changes forever.
This book is told in two (uneven) halves as you could call it before and after the accident. Obviously, there is not that much from before, and you spend most of the book with Al as she meets Warlocks, Gods, Goddesses, and Angels. She has a dry sense of humour which was delightful to read, and really came across well on the page.
Awakened is well written, with characters that jump off the page. Be warned though, there are a lot of them so you will need to keep track of who they are. With a few editing issues in words being misspelt, this was nevertheless an intriguing read. I was slightly disappointed we didn’t meet Daisy again after Al’s accident, especially when Philip is there so much.
Ending with a cliffhanger, this is a book to be enjoyed, and will definitely leave you wanting more. Absolutely recommended by me.

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
Awakened starts with Al on one of those stressful mornings we all have, just trying to get to work. Told from the first person, Al is finding it hard to fit in and settle down, and has been plagued with nightmares of dying and voices in her head.
A day that begins with office politics, messy desks and missing files, takes an odd and dramatic turn with a car crash on the way back from an investor lunch, and Al’s idea of the world is turned upside down as she finds herself in a world of witches and gods, and a past that is far more complex than she ever imagined.
Awakened is a great entry into a new world and new characters. The writing really pulls you in and even when you’re as bewildered as Al, you’re quite happy to go along and find out what happens next. It’s fast paced and you just keep turning those pages!
An interesting book that kept me guessing. The story starts with Al-Alexia being a frumpy overly stressed out office worker, cowed by life and fellow office workers. That confused me because later she’s an intelligent, lovely and highly desirable witch with a healthy libido. (are we talking the same person?) But the story develops with witches and Gods sharing the plot and it is an intriguing mix. Nicely done. Now I need to read the rest of the series.
Alexia thought herself a relatively normal person dealing with the same mundane things that most people deal with, crappy neighbors, annoying co-workers, and horrible bosses, until one day she arrives at work to find that someone has been going through her office. She thinks little of it until the day progresses into worse, with a near fatal car accident that sets her on a journey of discovering whom she is meant to be.
This book is a great paranormal fantasy infused with magic, creatures, sexy scenes, and most of all, an awakening! The complex back story and magic system combined with the adventure, Wiccan beliefs, and feminine empowerment make this a delight that will keep you coming back for more!
Awakened was the first book I’ve read by this author, and I found it to be very intriguing. Alexia was a complex character who was tormented by her nightmares, the constant voices in her head and visions of her own death. Until, she learns the truth and that might be more frightening than she could have ever imagined. I just love magical, mysterious books that hook you in with every turn of the page. Warlocks, gods and angels are just stories, right? Wrong…
I highly recommend Awakened to anyone who loves a great fairy tale.
The hardship in Alexia’s life is the beginning of her journey to her true calling. The story will pull you in! This is a brilliant start to a saga designed to introduce you to a world of Gods, Angels, witches and otherworldly creatures. You will feel a kinship with Alexia in her awakening!
Alexia takes you on an adventure of her lifetime. Filled with gods and goddesses, their power, magick, dynamic characters, friendship, and so much more! It’s page turner that you will not want to put down until you’ve done reading it!
A perfect mix of fantasy, mystery, humor, mythology and very likeable characters
Every chapter you read just makes you want to read the next one, which, when reading the final word left me pleasantly disappointed, nothing more to read but 2 more books to look forward to……

An interesting and unique premise that combines myths and legends of Gods and Goddesses, and perpetual rebirth. The fact that Al is unaware of who or what she is and discovers her past lives alongside the reader makes for an interesting voyage for the reader. Full of mysticism and magic there is also a romance element that is steamy at times. A unique and engaging story that combines real world, fantasy, and well researched myths and legends.
Al is working and doing the job that she likes, but she is not happy. She is forced to go to a meeting with an investor with her boss. They are in a accident, she is in a coma. She is transported to a different location. She is told she is a vessel and she has to find the Tablets of Destiny. She will have to face using her magic and facing her past.
With her life in danger, she will do what she has to do what she needs. With friends from the past to help her. She meets a man that she is attacted to. Things will catch with her and she will learn more about her past, she wish she never learned.
This book was a rollercoaster ride for this character. Things are thrown at her at every turn. She is trying hard to learn and do what she needs. There are mermaids, angels, gods and more in this book. You will enjoy reading this and will want to read the next book. I can’t wait to read the next one.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This isn’t a non stop action, full of sass, or laugh out loud funny story but it doesn’t drag on with nothing happening either ~ it’s just a great mix of everything together that keeps you reading!
Great characters and world building, I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
A great summer’s read!
Book, one starts out with Semiramis meeting her fellow sisters and the knowledge that she is a vessel for a certain Goddess. She also discovers that many times she is repeatedly killed by the enemy but always comes back. She comes back for a purpose to destroy the potions that will lead those to the tablets of where the future is written. She is constantly in danger from Thomas and who he works with. She meets other Gods, merfolk, and discovers more about herself and her lineage. She also meets Lucifer who will be of more help to her than she knows. She has three sisters in the Earth realm to help her on her journey. Then, the one God, the most powerful, takes her as he does in every lifetime to his home where he plans to keep her. She has fallen for a mortal man and him her very intensely. Lucifer blessed him with certain powers that are yet to still come out. In a battle at the end, everyone she loves is destroyed, or so she thinks! She also discovers who keeps killing her and why! She ends up in the last place she expected and also finds out more about what will transpire! It ends in a cliffhanger so be prepared! I received this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
