SelasSent to the surface of the prison planet Dactyles, I’m appointed to clean up the mess created by the Warden Benard. In addition to restructuring the management and ferreting out any of the previous warden’s supporters, I have to supervise the matings of a few lucky males.Branching out beyond the dome, I work to notify all the prisoners that Benard’s no longer in power on the planet. Not … no longer in power on the planet. Not everyone believes me though, and I’m captured and held as a prisoner.
When mating marks develop on my body, I’m shocked and confused. There are no more females, right?
And does it really matter when I’m about to be executed by the previous warden’s crazy followers?
Karen
Struggling to live up to the professional aspirations of my family while attending college, I find myself less and less interested in becoming a doctor or lawyer as they expect. I’m much more interested in continuing on with the active lifestyle and Aikido training that makes me so focused and relaxed.
When I’m abducted by aliens at a study group with friends, I’m told if I give up my family and life on Earth, I can have the life I want. But it also comes with a little catch that definitely sounds… interesting.
Is there really someone out there that’s perfect for me?

A great storyline! Hard to put down! Intense and Emotional! Hot Chemistry! I truly enjoyed this read! Get it and Read it!
This is the first book I’ve read in this series and I loved it. I have already started collecting more of the series. This story is really captivating. Human girl, Karen, in school to become a psychologist and bad to the bone in Aikido (martial arts). In a study group on campus she is abducted, along with her friend, by aliens and offered the opportunity for a new life. Selas is the alien that she is heading to meet when he is kidnapped by hostile prisoners. Karen will turn these alien males on their heads with her actions. See, she’s not going to sit by and let the males go save her man. She knows right where he is and she’s going. She makes a name for herself (without even trying) by rescuing her mate and two other males by using her martial arts skills. She also saves the life of one of the guys she rescues. This is a fantastic tale and Karen is one fiery, kick-butt woman. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
This is the eighth story in the The Quasar Lineage series. You don’t have to read the previous stories to enjoy this story, but you will understand a lot more if you do. Most of the other characters will be in this story too.
The centeral part of this series is that on the planet Quasar, there are around ten men to every female, so they have ‘family contracts’ with a female where all the males of that family will become like a husband to that female. She could have many husbands. The males, for some reason or another, cannot perform without an injection of a certain drug. Thousands of years ago, there were even numbers of men and women and they had mates. They would have what looked like colorful tattoos appear on their bodies when their mate was nearby. They would be perfect mates in all ways and would want to be with each other, never separated. They could feel each other’s emotions. But for some reason, that stopped thousands of years ago and with a shortage of females, it was now this reverse harem for their planet. When one of their ships came too near Mars, near an Earth ship that had a human female in it, one of their men got his mating marks. When that man’s brother found out about it, just before he was to be ‘married’, he took off to Earth to find his mate. When he tried to ‘beam her up’ he accidentally beamed up a total of eight college girls, one of them his mate. It seems that there are ‘little grey men’ who are in control of the space around Earth, and they seem to be able to see the future, so they help the remaining girls find their mates. Maybe even more Earth women can be collected for more Quasar men can have their mates too.
In this story, our girl Karen, is told that her mate is on the Prison Planet, working for the Council, to get the planet straightened up. The former warden was corrupt and was running the planet as her personal kingdom. Him and his followers got the good food, abused the prisoners as they came in and could do anything. The old warden was arrested and put into general population and has escaped and is in the wilds of the planet. They are trying to get the prisoners who live outside the prison dome to come back, since it is now safe. But the former warden has told them all lies about how the Council is killing off all the old prisoners so they can repopulate the planet with the new mated couples. Karen’s mate was trying to reach out to the wild prisoners when he was captured. She could feel him through their connection, but they didn’t want her out of the airship they go to rescue him in. When they aren’t looking, she sneeks out and finds him. While she is watching, one of the wild prisoners slits the throat of one of the three men who are strung up. She knows if she doesn’t act now, her mate will be killed. She gets in there with her pipe that she is using as her jo, and kicks their butty. She has been studying Aikido since she was 10 and she still practices every day, even in space.
Sela was from a middle class family, so he had no ‘family contract’ with any female, so he knew he would never have a family of his own. He worked hard to rise up the ranks in their military until he was the second-in-charge on the ship Discovery. Then he was put in charge of the prison planet and told to get things straightened up. It was decided to place the mates there to populate that planet, since they wouldn’t really be welcome on their home planet. He has gone a long way to clean it up, but with the former warden in the wilds and riling them up to attack and steal the females, he needs to get things straightened up and capture the former warden. When he was out on a peace mission, he gets captured. While he is strung up, he gets his mating marks. The former warden tells everyone it is a trick, not real. While they are out fighting against the guards trying to get Sela back, one of the guards slits one of his guys throat. Then this whirlwind of a person comes in and saves them all, including the guy with his throat slit. That ended up being his mate. He is floored on how this small human woman can take down men who are bigger and taller than her and not even get hurt, let alone rescue three men.
You really need to read this story to see what else happens, and it also ends where it looks like there could be more to this series to come.

Karen was taken from Earth and told that her fated mate waits for her arrival. It was a lot for her to take in and accept but there was nothing that mattered waiting for her on Earth so she was prepared to at least met the man that caused the mating marks on her body. Everything that they said was true, it was hard to believe for Selas as well. He had never expected to find a mate, didn’t even yearn for one and yet upon meeting Karen, she was the most important thing in his life. This story hooked me from the start, the attraction between Karen and Selas was explosive and immediate, they would have to accept each other’s desires and demands for there was no going back for either of them. I liked how each of them had to accept that having a mate had life changing consequences, having to consider anothers wants above their own and to consider other points of view before making a decision. Their happiness together made making these changes easy for both of them. A rewarding read and a satisfying ending to an engaging story.

Another wonderful story in this amazing series. I really wish I could give this more than the 5 stars as I think this is a brilliantly written story that is full of action, some suspense and romance. This author has never disappointed me with anything I’ve read by her, granted this is the only series I’ve read by her but it’s brilliant and I always look out for the next book in the series. I suggest anyone who loves sci-fi romances to read this entire series.

Karen, martial arts master in her field, was abducted along with her friends from college was sitting in a study group. She is then on a mission to locate her mate who has the very similar markings that she does who is being held hostage. She can feel his anxiety and tension as he knows that his fate to being killed is coming soon. Meanwhile his mating markings appear on his body. This is a very interesting book. I read another book from the series and loved it. The beginning is a little rough, I got confused at the beginning of the book. It smoothed itself out. A HEA, didn’t feel like a cliffhanger. There are other characters from the previous books but it was definitely able to stand alone.

Karen is the last of the original humans that was stolen from Earth. Karen and Selas are perfect for each other. The chemistry between the two was very sexy. Selas couldn’t figure out why he was getting mating marks on his body as there were no more human women left. Karen finds Selas ties to a pole waiting for execution. She saves him from death using the Aikido she learned. Selas and Karen work together to fix the prison planet that Bernard, the ex warden, messed up. Exciting story. Each book gets better than the last one.

The eighth book in The Quasar Lineage series this is a series that when it is complete I want to gather all the books and reread them one after the other from the first to the last one. Karen and Selas’ story has suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, a prison world, mating marks, and romance. I enjoyed reading this book. Another wonderful story in this series. I didn’t find this author till the 6th book in this series so I have some catch up to look forward too. So far she hasn’t disappoint me in this well written series when I read the story of Selas and Karen the last women of the study group who was taken from Earth. Selas was sent to the prison planet to straighten up the mess of the previous warden. Karen a up in your face type of women who’s interested in the martial arts was sent to the prison planet by the Greys. When mating marks appear on Selas upon his arrival and he meets Karen- sparks fly. Can these two find their happiness among the drama and dilemmas that is thrusts upon them? I’m sad that this is the last of this series because I want more. We shall see! I volunteer to read and review this ARC via Booksprout.
I was captivated from the beginning with how well the characters were developed and engaging. And having the storyline flow smoothly made for a very enjoyable storyline to read.

I really enjoyed reading this entertaining alien romance, it has a intriguing story-line & plot. The unique characters are well developed and interesting. There are some character crossovers from the previous book but this book is complete & standalone.
There is: an alien male (Selas) to sent to clean up a prison planet (Dactyles) after the previous warden (Bernard) turned out to be corrupt, a strong-willed & fierce human female (Karen) trained in martial arts was abducted from earth & promised a mate, dimension portals, human females, aliens, a Quasar Council, deceit, untruths, mating marks, threats, danger, adventure, action, drama, intrigue, twists & turns, manipulations, attractions, doubts, advice, jealousy, warnings, confrontations, mating rage, surprises, steamy scenes, contentment & a satisfying happy conclusion. I would recommend this alien romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.
I really hope this is not the end of this series.
Because I am not ready for it end!
I cant tell you too much, dont want to ruin it.
Just know, this series could go on for a VERY long time!!!
I was worried for Selas and Karen at the beginning.
She is do fierce and independant. Nearly fearless.
While Selas was described as cold and brash.
But boy howdy do things heat up!
I would highly recommend this book and this series.
Happy reading!
