Ten years ago, seers across the globe were wiped out, thrusting the supernatural world into figurative darkness. When word spreads that the first new seer in a decade has been found, powerful forces will hunt her.The dead will unite to defend her.And a repressed sadist werelock will abandon his century-long vow of celibacy to claim her as his own. Note: Seer is a full-length novel, but it is NOT A … Seer is a full-length novel, but it is NOT A STANDALONE. While Seer may be enjoyed as a first read in the series, for maximum entertainment, it is recommended that you read the books that precede it.

Wow, loved this sexy, witty, dark-ish story so hard! No spoilers, but the scene at the end required a change of you-know-what ;). Highly recommend!
I enjoyed reading about Kai and learning who the Seer is and what happens between them this story was darker than I expected and got to see a different side of Kai. Lauren who is a sassy college student turns out to be the next Seer and how she responds to what Kai does to her kinda shocked me.. I look forward to reading the next book to find out what happens I recommend this book!
Since the first book I read in the Werelock Evolution Series, I fell in love with Hettie Ivers. When I heard that she was making Seer I couldn’t stop being anxious to read it. Hettie is an amazing writer with a brilliant mind. If you haven’t read her books, please do it now.
Ten years ago Seers were annihilated and Lauren is the first one to come out of the no light decade.
Kai is both a werelock and a wolf that has survived the death of his true mate. He has been a celibate for over a hundred years and has been suppressing his deviant sexual desires. He had a very traumatic childhood and reading about it was heartbreaking. What I love more is that he’s a sadist.
Lauren is a college student, very gifted and sassy. She can see the past and communicate with spirits. Lauren and Kai have a powerful connection. Their passionate raw sex is undeniable amazing. Smoking hot I would say.
This book is a most read. Is an addictive captivating series. Like I said don’t miss out on reading the whole series. My praises to Hettie Ivers for being such an amazing author. I cant wait for the next part of this story.
This book is deliciously dark, wonderfully witty and absolutely addictive…the author has a unique gift with words and has created a fabulous and vividly rich alternative world populated by a diverse group of beautiful men and women, fantastical beasts and creatures. In particular, whether they are waging wars, fussing over petty disputes, or ravishing the focus of their desires, I am completely enamoured with the werelocks who are aggressive, single minded and utterly, incandescently hot.
The protagonists, Lauren and Kai, have a sizzling connection; she is a gifted, sassy, often bemused college student, he is the epitome of an alpha werelock: obsessive, protective and possessive…oh yes and conflicted, sadistic, and celibate, in fact a dominant gorgeous mess.
But it isn’t just the main characters that I find fascinating, because the interplay between all the characters contributes to the overall magic of this series.
Anyone who has not ventured into this author’s books seriously needs to rectify the situation immediately, but be warned….once the unsuspecting reader enters this world there is no way back…I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.
Finally, the much anticipated, autobiography of Hettie Ivers has been released, and in case there is any doubt, Kai is the character that she chose to represent her and her, “special needs.” Which reminds me, has anyone heard from Alcaeus (her husband) lately? I’m starting to get a bit concerned.
Hettie, I mean Kai 😉 is a repressed sadist who does everything in his power to deny his attraction to a very intelligent, widely amazing college student, Lauren. SPOILER ALERT, she’s his mate. Lauren is the Seer destined to bring the, “decade of no light,” to an end. While this terminology will be familiar to anyone who has read the previous books in the series, Hettie does a great job giving background to new readers who may not be as familiar with the story, without being distracting to the storyline.
While sadism invokes dark themes into the storyline, you can continue to expect Hettie’s humor to shine through. I know it seems weird because sadism and humor aren’t typically words that are strung together, but Hettie does a superb job mixing the dark themes of this story with her incredible talent to pull laughter out of the most inappropriate of situations.
Personally, I feel like Hettie should have included a liability waiver with this work of nonfiction. Anyone arrested for public sex cannot hold Hettie responsible just because they were inspired by this particular work of art, and those scenes are INSPIRING.
Seer is Part 1 of a duet, so if you prefer to have immediate access to a completed story line, I advise waiting for part 2 to be published. Hettie does an incredible job at ending Part 1 on a hot note, but unfortunately it still had to come to an end, and considering where she has to take the story next, this was the best place to end it. Trust me, it’s good. One click this story and happy reading!
I started reading the Werelock Evolution in the middle, and loved it so much I had to go back to the beginning and read all the books in the series. I thought Just Like Animals would remain my favorite with the scorching hot club scene opening, but Ms. Ivers outdid herself once again with Seer, which is now firmly at the top of my list. The stories keep on getting better and better (plus I have a soft spot for an outcast, loner, alpha male werelock with repressed sadistic tendencies).
I love everything about the story. The plot is well developed, the characters are complex and multi-dimensional, the dialogue is extraordinary, and the pace is perfect. There’s nothing not to adore about Lauren and Kai. What I love most about Ms. Ivers brilliant writing is the humor. For me, Ms. Ivers’ superpower in her story-telling talent is her wit. It shines like a brilliant gemstone throughout her work, sometimes a flicker of light that evokes a giggle, and at other times a bright eruption of fireworks that merits belly-aching laughs. The effect is always a warm sensation brought on by sheer enjoyment, a ray of uplifting light that makes real world troubles disappear for a few, wonderful hours.
Congratulations, Hettie Ivers, on hitting a bullseye with the purpose behind all the hours spent in crafting this story. Thank you for giving us the ultimate entertainment. I can’t wait for the conclusion.
Wow….just wow. I absolutely loved this book. I stayed up late to finish it and I am pretty sure the entire book is highlighted. This was my first book by Hettie Ivers, but I cannot wait to read the next one…yes, I may have already asked her when the next would be out, because I am so patient *shakes head*.
The books starts out in a prologue of the events leading up to the present. It was a very fascinating storyline and I could not get enough of it. In this world there are werelocks, with magical capabilities and can shift into werewolves….some of them are a bit of a handful *winks*. Seers are the humans they seek out to see the future and interpret visions. Kai is a werelock that had lost his mate Maribel. Maribel had been in the ether and figured out how to break the mate bond, with very dark magic. When she did this it caused a huge effect on all the Seers.
Fast forward 10 years and one of the last Seers, Lauren, is having erotic dreams about sexy stranger-danger, her words, not mine. Lauren was a sarcastically spunky college girl and I just loved her personality. She just calls it like she sees it and she doesn’t hold back ever, which I also loved. She attracts the attention of Kai and then quite a few others of his kind. One of the werelocks, is there to protect her and is mostly always with her. Would he like more with her, probably, but she is just not attracted to him like she is Kai. She is unaware of all the werelocks at first, but even though she knows what she is, she hasn’t really honed or practiced her skills, since all the Seers are no longer. Her mother also cracked me up, the two of them had me laughing out loud. Her mom also came up with a codename, if you will for the werelocks, SGLP’s, which is suspiciously good-looking people…and it just cracked me up…like I can’t even. This first book of the duet, goes through the two of them fighting their chemistry, well Kai more than Lauren and unfolding more of the storyline. Kai tries to stay away from her, but he just can’t, the attraction is just too strong. He leaves for a bit, but that last about a hot second. He has never been with a human and is worried his wolf will go even more to the dark side. His wolf is a bit of a handful, so he is always trying to rein him in. Seriously, the heat with these two *shakes head*…whew.
This was a safe read for me, I know he did have a mate, but when she severed their mating bond….she became null and void in my world. Plus the fact that she was so evil…enough said. He has been celibate like a 100 years or something like that, so a long ass time. These two had heat to spare, I mean they were hot af, with all the erotic dreams and those them in general. Kai was darker, so for me this was a darker read, but I really did eat it up. There was baby batter, yup thought you all would like that. The storyline was very interesting and developed. I loved all the main and secondary characters as well. It was so detailed, I felt I really knew the story without having to read the previous books. I was so impressed by this book, and I truly cannot wait for book 2 in this duet. It had everything, a great storyline, great humor, sexy af, well developed characters. Am I stalking the author…why yes, yes I am, thank you for asking *winks*. Next book please….I know, I know, subtle like a Mack truck.
Dark, delicious, and enthralling…with enough humor to lighten the mood and create laugh out loud moments. I love this series by Hettie Ivers and have been waiting anxiously for Kai and Lauren’s story. Her characters are so realistic that they pop out of the pages to live in your imagination long after you close the book. While the darkness will chill you, the romance and heat will melt you until you are a puddle of goo, at which point you won’t know which way is up. I couldn’t put this book down once I started and am positively crushed that we have to wait for part two, but I know it will be worth the wait. It’s the not knowing what will happen that has me so on edge – authors can be so sadistic sometimes, but I LOVE it! Five don’t even think about passing this series and this book up stars!!
Seer was one of my most expected releases for 2019, and it didn’t disappoint.
Throughout the series (which I highly recommend you read from the start as it will make the books so much more enjoyable), Kai has always been a mystery. Now we finally begin to learn the story of the last of the Arctic werewolves. Please note that this is part one of a duet.
The seers throughout the world were killed ten years ago, now the next generation of seers develops their powers—a big deal for the highly superstitious werelock community. Everybody is waiting anxiously for the promised next great seer to be found.
Enter Lauren, the granddaughter of a famous seer. She is in college, living on campus, working in a coffee shop, and mostly trying to mind her own business while doing her best to ignore all the spirits that wander around in the old buildings.
What she doesn’t know is that the werelock community is watching her closely, especially Kai, who is supposed to have an eye on her for his pack, yet his eyes are more fixed on the woman than the seer. But the other packs are on her heel as well, so Kai is by far not the only werelock roaming the campus. Large number of suspiciously good-looking people? Check.
In typical werelock manner, Kai can’t resist appearing in Lauren’s dreams and then erasing her memory of the sadistic sexual encounters he creates there. And boy, are they hot. After over 100 years of celibacy, all Kai wants and cannot allow himself is the seer he is getting too obsessed with.
While Lauren is struggling with an increasing number of visions, dreams, and spirits constantly craving her attention, Kai is fighting his attraction to the human and trying his best to stay away from her, keeping his wolf and their common sadistic longing for Lauren in check as best as he can.
But can they stay apart? Hell no!
I enjoyed this book very much and am dying to read the second part. It is, just like the other books in the series, a good mixture of the suspenseful general storyline and the story of the individual couple it is about, packed with lovable characters (and some killable ones), humour, and steaming hot (and kinky) sex. Hettie Ivers’s writing has sucked me in from the first book, and I swear, that woman knows no shame, so get ready for a hot good time with the werelocks of your dreams. Haven’t dreamed of werelocks yet? You will after reading Werelock Evolution!
Kai and Lauren will have you glued to your seats with this one. The drama is all over the place with these two and it keeps the story lively. He is darkness personified and she is in denial of her powers choosing to repress them. The two together are like a rocket launching when the fuel ignites. This story is a great read and the writing is superb! I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
What a ride this story is. It has a lot of mystery and drama. It is a darker story with Kai and Lauren. But boy does it allow you see a side of Kai that you never expected. Lauren is this sassy and oh so gifted young lady that tends to make me laugh at times. Seeing this darker side of Kai opens up so many doors. It has you waiting on anticipated breath to find out what happens. Lord was I sad when the story ended. It is a exceptional written story that draws you into this wonderful world. It keeps you until the end and even then doesn’t let go due to you want to have more and more of the story. Most certainly worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.
~There should be a Sexy Stranger-Danger Alert on campus…~
Wow! The buildup between Kai and Lauren is extreme and intense, one of his challenges being relentless sexual frustration in his attraction to this young seer as well as the situation created by someone in Kai’s past, still creating a mental and emotional hold on him a decade later. Lauren is unknowingly coming into her powers, now that she has reached the magical age for seer development. Suddenly, there is an influx of strangely beautiful men around campus, even more ghosts invading her life, and well, the hottest of dreams as well as the most horrific. Casper, her roommate, and her manager are secondary personalities which lend more relative “regular-ness,” helping to keep her grounded and watch out for her, but soon things between Kai and Lauren go past the point of no return.
I. Cannot. Wait. To. Read. Part. Two! I love the stories this author writes; the quirky traits in her characters and fun episodes are always so well matched against the deviant and dark threads, into an expertly woven tale of her extremely well detailed, complex worlds and dimensions.
I am loving the Werelock series and all the books that tie into it. I highly recommend you read No Light better yet read the whole amazing series first as it explains this fantastic world. Lauren is a seer and Kai a wolf shifter. Loved getting to know Kai more and seeing how he dealt with the death of his mate Maribel and how he struggled with his desire for Lauren. Lauren and Kai are great characters and I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next for them.
Seer was a great well-written, dark, twisted and intense read w/sizzling chemistry between Kai and Lauren. Couldn’t put it down. Great continuation of the Werelock Evolution series. Ends in a cliffhanger- can’t wait for the next one.
Soooooo Kai’s story did not play out like I thought it would. He has some dark tendencies that play out in dreams.
Lauren is exactly like I pictured when thinking about someone who could finally capture the attention of Kai.
It’s more than you could imagine while slowly teasing you with what is to come.
It ends way before you want it to!
If you have been following Hettie’s werelock crazy train so far, were you really going to just stop at No Light? If I have lost you already that means you’ve now realized Seer is not to be read as a stand alone. I mean, you can if you’d like, no one is going to stop you. But be prepared to know that if you do I’ve just put you in the same category as people who eat the crust off their pizza first. Just plain crazy!
Kai has been a character I was curious about since he was first introduced to us. Dark, brooding, tortured. As we dive deeper into his character we are able to recognize and dare I say empathize with what makes Kai, well, Kai. Simply put he was the enigma that needed to be explained. His baser instincts deemed to be tactfully fit for his sorrowful past and his unknown future. Why did he survive Maribel’s death, what is the true reason of the Rogue’s existence, what is to become after the decade of No Light? These are all questions that he is still trying to wrap his head around as well as us readers/followers.
Lauren. Our Seer. Her purpose was deemed extraordinary even though she has yet to fit that into a box of purpose she is familiar and/or confident in. You see her questions and mindset change throughout when new evidence is brought forward. I look forward to the impact she is undoubtedly going to make on not just Kai but for all werelock’s and subspecies alike.
Mike, Babs, even Emil (new editions) all bring equal parts to make this story an enthralling balm to our werelock fix. Because it is just a fix. We always need more don’t we? But don’t worry we are getting more. Make that a Duet! With appearances from our known faves thrown into the mix also!
Perception is everything. I’ve equally fell in love and/or distaste with how all characters are beautifully portrayed. What a journey this series has become. I look forward to every installment that brings me closer into the world Hettie has created. I’m in awe, this book was everything, and it leaves nothing but excitement in it’s wake!
Remember when your parents taught you about stranger-danger? Somehow I don’t think they were talking about a repressed sadist werelock lol.
Ok, on to the book. First, I love all books by Hettie Ivers. You can’t go wrong with her stories. They’ve got growly alpha males, kickass females, lots of dirty talking, and sarcastic humor that will have you smiling for days. I expected to love Seer just as much although I do have to confess Kai was not my favorite person in the Werelock Evolution. I should have known a master like Hettie Ivers would not only make me like him, I fell for him in a big way. And for those of who that know my reading preferences, sadistic werelocks aren’t really my jam. With Kai, there were so many layers to him. I just wanted to cuddle him while praying he didn’t bite my arm off haha.
As much as I loved Kai’s character, I loved Lauren as well. She is the perfect foil for Kai. The push and pull between them had me eagerly swiping the pages on my tablet while secretly dreading the end of the book.
I can’t wait for the next part of the duet. I give Seer 5+ stars and highly recommend it. If you haven’t read the whole series, give it a read now while waiting for the 2nd part of the story.
Phenomenal! This beautiful sadist popped onto my Kindle and I read the whole thing in one sitting. I got Seer as a highly anticipated ARC and I’ve been waiting to post a review because honestly with Seer there was just so much information to process. This installment in the series was definitely a change of pace from the previous book Just Like Animals but then again Kai is literally an entirely different beast! Watching Kai struggle against his wolf and Lauren questioning her sanity at every turn was entertaining. There was serious moments, witty moments. Moments that I was just sitting there thinking that I was going to throw my phone if some people didn’t get their shit together lol. I absolutely loved the cameo with Alex and Milena! Always a pleasure to read scenes with them. But I have to say the character that was definitely trying to steal the show in Seer was Babs! I need SO much more of Babs in the next book. Please! Overall, Hettie’s writing as always is next level and her world building is amazing. Give me all the words!
OMG…Seer was paranormal at its finest. Hettie Ivers is know for giving us stories that will grab you and not let go and Seer is no exception. The story was engrossing and just downright riveting. I could not put it down as I absolutely adore this style of writing.
Seer is Book 6 in the Warelock Evolution series and is the first book of a duet. I’ve always loved Kai and was so excited for his story and I’m pleased to say I was not disappointed. Kai is the definition of a complex yet well-developed character and we learn more about him and his past in this story. He will definitely have you intrigued and Lauren the female protagonist easily hold her own against him in this story. Yes she’s the new fledgling Seer but her sassy attitude will have you wanting more. The connection between these two sizzles yet its sum total of all the characters as a whole that makes this story superb.
Be prepared to laugh, have your heart broken and everything in between as the story unfolds. Questions will be answered and new questions will arise and in the end you will be satisfied yet anxious for more.
Seer was a phenomenal read worthy of more than 5 stars. This was a great continuation to the Werelock Evolution series. I loved it and would highly recommend this page-turner to all lovers of paranormal romance.
Sinful, dark, twisted, intense and smoking hot, Kai and Lauren’s romance gets off to an epic start in this the first book in their story. Yes, you will have to wait to see how it all concludes in the next book. Also I highly recommend that you read the other books in the Werelock Evolution series. Characters reappear, events are referenced and there are story line elements that continue to unfold as the series progresses. Please be aware that this book is extremely steamy. Kai is a sadist that has held his desires in check and been celibate for a long time. Now that his restraint is crumbling things are going to get feverishly cataclysmic. The attraction and chemistry between these two was nuclear and their scenes scorching. The story quickly pulls you in and just doesn’t let go. Gripping, highly emotional, dramatic, suspenseful, dangerous, action packed, kinky, sinister and yes even humorous, this book delivers on every single level. I loved this book and I will be counting the days to the release of book two.
