This was such an entertaining story! I’m a sucker for fae and loved the focus on light vs dark. The sassiness and strength of the characters and the inclusion of crystals within the world drew me into the story. I did find it started a little slow, but after a couple chapters, I was easily lost in the pages until the end. I liked the twists and the characters challenging the status quo. I really enjoyed this and look forward to the next book. I also felt the narrator did a great job. I love how Moyen captures the characters’ personalities and infuses the emotions of the story into her performance. It went beyond the pages and really brought the story to life for me.
*I read this as an audiobook.
Such a great first book to get you hooked!
In Seeking the fae you have Lily, the last of the seekers. After the death of her mother, she have barely the time to grive. She learns what her mother job was really about and must continue it. The crystals that keeps Faerie alive have been stolen and she must retrive them before its to late. Her mother had retrive 6 crystal and Lily will need to find the remaining six. Sounds easy but she didn’t expect to find her soulmate. And that this one is a Son of Darkness. He’s the ennemy and she’s supposed to kill him and claim back the crystals.
Another amazing serie from Leia Stone. It has everything that fascinates the readers and keeps its originality. It’s a mixture of mystery, adventure, and romance. Going immediately to the second one.
I absolutely loved this book. I thought the plot line and the character building was superb and there were definite plot twist I didn’t see coming. I cannot wait for the next book! This book was definitely a page turner and Leah stone did not disappoint. She creates these worlds there so believable yet full of fiction and it leaves me as a reader wanting more. You know it’s going to be a romance so you can automatically kind of guess who the two main characters are going to be but Lily and Liam had I absolutely love this book. You know it’s going to be a romance so you can automatically kind of guess who the two main characters are going to be but Lily and Liam had that spark from the very beginning. And their relationship continue to evolve and bend and twist as the book went on and it left you wondering what’s next. But I think the one thing that was most entertaining about this book was the supporting cast and their relationship with the lead female protagonist. And that old adage more will be revealed was definitely true with this book and I cannot wait for the next one it left me wondering what’s going to happen to the elders and what’s going on with the part of fairy outside of the veil and so many more questions. Great job Leia your amazing!!!!
Daughter of Light, book 1 is a fantastic start to this new series. I absolutely love Lily!! She is the last of her kind as a seeker. I felt a immediate connection and loved the main character, Lily. At such a young age she has had to endure a lot and take her duties head on. I love her sidekick Elle!! They are a wonderful team.
There is definitely a bad boy in this book! Liam is #SwoonWorthy. You gotta meet this bad boy.
The author did a fabulous job world building this world and I enjoyed learning a lot of the faerie world. The portals, and learning about the dark world and the creatures in it was fabulous.
Leia pulls us all in again to her magical worlds. This new series takes us to Faerie and the world of the Fae. Lily is the last seeker left. She’s a tough yet tender-hearted Fae. She’s just lost her mother, her only family, and is now expected to step into her mom’s shoes and take over the mission she was on. What she doesn’t realize is exactly who her mom was and what her job entailed. The world of Faerie is dying, their light crystals were stolen by the Sons of Darkness and must be returned to their tree of life for their existence to continue on. Determined for her daughter to have a normal life and upbringing, her mom shielded her from the horrors that their people had been through and the frightening job that she did. Six crystals remain on Earth and in the hands of their enemies and only seekers can find them. Thrust into her first mission and briefed on the evil she has to fight, Lily runs smack into evils arms her first go at retrieving a lost crystal and taking up her mom’s plight. The arms that surround her belong to Liam, a Son of darkness….who is also Fae. The attraction is immediate and it takes seconds longer for the blue lights that recognize soul mates to bounce back and forth from their chests. Soul mates. To her enemy. Ones she has been taught to kill but now can’t because he is everything to her.
Leia never fails with the creativity that surrounds her stories. We have a place of beauty and magic, a world of darkness and evil, a forbidden pairing, and pain and devastation on both sides. The characters she has created, Liam and Lily, have phenomenal chemistry and the sweetness and sharp bite of a love-hate relationship. She guides us through the trials and danger and entrails is with the heat and sensuality. This book gives us a glimpse into a world of magic and the possibility of living out a fantasy life. This is sure to be another fabulous series and I can’t hardly wait for the next story!!
Holy crystals! I’m not normally one to enjoy Fae books, but I have enjoyed Leia Stone’s other books so I gave it a go. Get ready for a fast-paced, crazy adventure! The story is gripping from the first chapter, and keeps up the pace throughout the entire book. There is plenty of mystery, with twists and turns that keep you devouring the book as fast as possible. The only thing I think is missing is more of Stone’s wit and humor.
I wish I had slowed down because I really couldn’t wait for more by the time I finished it. I appreciated the fact that Stone isn’t afraid of conflict; especially when it comes to Lily’s romantic interest, Liam. Lily begins as a naive fairy who only sees the world with sunshines and rainbows, yet grows in character to become a force to be reckoned with by the end of book 1. She’s inspiring despite the adversity she faces trying to save her world and I can’t wait to read more!
I have just finished reading a book that I felt, I had been waiting for a really long time. The moment Leia told her group about the upcoming release of this book, I just knew it was going to be everything I needed (and oh how right I was!)
Okay, let’s get into it. I loved, loved so much about this book…it doesn’t hold back, and I loved how quickly it gets right into things. No dilly-dallying. Time is of the essence. And oh boy how true that is. The fate of the Fae world depends on it…well what’s left of it.
But lucky for us, we have one very strong-willed chica on our side (Lily) and along with her very good friend (Elle) and others, they are determined to turn it all around. You see though, Lily is a Fae but she’s a very special one, the last of her kind now. After the tragic death of her mum, which btws broke my heart!! Made her crucial to the survival of Faerie. She’s a Seeker. Which means she has a very special ability of tracking down basically anything…but most importantly these special crystals – or seeds from the Tree of Life – The very thing that practically gives life to their land. But you see these crystals were stolen…which leaves Faerie in a very dire situation. And so she must move fast and track them down as fast as possible, before Faerie crumbles.
But that isn’t the only problem…you see many years ago there was what they called the Dark War…and many fled Faerie because of it. Taking these life-giving crystals, so they could survive on earth…for without them they would die. But this only left a small portion of Faerie stable. Anywho, The Elders told Lily about this lost history, that was never shared with their people (Hiding things from people is never a good sign right? Never trust a person who keeps things like this from you!) …and they told her that from this Dark War came these beings called The Sons of Darkness. Or Dark Fae. And she was told they were abominations. You in yet?
But when Lily goes on her first seeking mission something very baffling occurs. She’s in place, has found the crystal and these beings, but one is not like the others. It is one who the Elders said was the most dangerous, the ones with black wings. But the most baffling of all things happen…she bonds with him, like soulmate bonds!…and there’s a light show and everything! The guy (Dark Fae) is totally oblivious to what is happening, but he can def feel the effects, as he is clearly intrigued by her…and he does not try to kill her. Win? right?
I totally adored Lily and loved how it was narrated. Even though Lily was struggling deeply, her compassion and fighting spirit weren’t willing to just rollover. And after she found her new soulmate, things start changing fast. I don’t want to give too much away, but they eventually team up to get the crystals and try and find a solution to all the problems…but there is a bigger threat yet, that is going on…and hopefully, together they can work it out.
But I need to get this out, I fell in love with her soulmate from page one! He intrigued me beyond anything I can explain. I wanted to know his story (and btws totally nailed it on the info about him…just sayin’ hehe)…but I want to know more about him. But so far I love him and the development of the relationship between him and Lily. Although felt very quick, totally understood why it needed to be that way. Love them already.
There’s a lot that happens and unfolds in this book and I really loved the journey it took me on. Loved all the characters and learning more about this world. It was incredible. Love it so much!
The friendships are amazing and they are so loyal to each other… I also really like the new friendships that bloom as well between a very powerful Fae that is locked away in like this in-between world, Mara, she is like the keeper of this special door. You want to know more about that don’t you? Guess you’re gonna have to read it.
This book has everything, I kid you not. She even meets a flippin’ Mermaid! Which opens an even bigger door to this story. I don’t know what more I can say, if you aren’t convinced yet…But hopefully, I have because this book is worth reading!
I absolutely cannot wait until I can read more in this world. Thank goodness it’s only like one month until the next book.
Happy Readings
Oh my this was such a great beginning to a new series. I absolutely love every thing this author writes. Lily is absolutely amazing. She is full of courage and light, while Liam who considers himself dark is more like gray. He is dark but kind and giving. The book kept me captivated to the very end. It left me needing more. I can’t wait til book two. It’s going to be amazing I’m sure
What an intriguing and exciting concept for a new series by the very talented Leia Stone! This book started with a bang, grabbed me and had me completed invested in Lily and Liams stories! We really start to get to know Lily in this book and her world, and the devastation that is happening to her world. And we get just a glimpse of Liam and who he is…there is so much mystery surrounding him and his life and I really hope we get to see more of his life in book two!
A great thing in this book is also the supporting cast…both good and bad! Elle is a strong and capable guard that I just love her parts in the book, Mara has a tragic past and you can see her love for Lily’s mother come through the pages. Then there are the elders…are they good or bad, I am yet yet to decide. But the true evil is the winter king…he is a terrible Fae that you just want to see Lily destroy! This book was really fast paced, full of twists and turns, drama, mystery, heartache and danger. I cannot wait for book two to come out…highly recommended!
