Seeking Charity (Seeking #2) was a good read by Josie Riviera. Charity ran away with the Romany Gypsies and left everything behind. Although she ran away, she secretly longs for the ease of English life. Daniel Hayward recognized Charity’s voice immediately. But he never though he would see her again since she died years ago. I enjoyed reading this book an cant wait to read more by the author.
I liked the first story in this series and I liked this one even more. The Welsh countryside, the Regency manners and the sharp counterpoint offered by the Romney band. The runaway Charity is gentle and loving but also as fiery as her red hair would suggest and in many ways, her rebellious spirit is far more suited to the Romney lifestyle than her father’s rigid, unbending and abusive expectations.
Daniel, her old crush is the typical Regency male; proper, ruled by expectation and sometimes completely oblivious to what’s happening under the surface of British high society’s rigid social mores. They’re very different, but their story is adorably sweet and their H.E.A. is well deserved.
This one’s well worth your time if you’re a Regency romance fan.
This was nice historical Christian romance with heart. Charity had to leave home for her own safety and finds the Romany Gypsies to take her in. All is well until she meets someone from her past that can change everything. Good story and great characters.
A short sweet inspirational story about second chance love.
Good storyline and interesting characters. Daniel and Charity were childhood friends. She ran away at 14 and everyone was told she had died. When Daniel happens upon her in Wales, she must overcome her fears.
I read this as part of The Seeking Series.
Ms. Riviera is definitely one of my favorite authors. She always delivers a story that is sweet, inspirational, and heartwarming. This one certainly follows suit. This is such a sweet story about two wonderful characters. Daniel and Charity have been best friends since childhood. Daniel has always been her protector, but the one thing he couldn’t protect her from was her abusive father. Charity couldn’t take it anymore and ran away joining a band of gypsies, leaving everything and everyone she loved behind. Her father told everyone she died, and Daniel has been mourning her ever since. As Daniel is travelling, he comes across a woman that resembles Charity and he hopes and prays that she is his Charity. This is a really beautiful story not only about love, but faith and hope. This is the second book in a really wonderful series. I hope there will be a book 3 soon!

A delightful tale.
I read this delightful tale on a dark Sunday morning, but it brought a bit of sunlight to the day. It was a tale of a young girl who ran away instead of taking anymore abuse and the young man she left behind. Years later these two souls meet again and the love that had begun in their youth grew stronger. There is also a faith believed lost found again because it was never lost. High praise for the work I highly recommend it for any age. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Charity has to run away from her father & joins the gypsies. Then her love from years ago discovers her. A very nice, sweet story of finding love again. I received a free audible copy of the book. Enjoyed Ms. Petersen’s reading of the story also. This is my voluntary opinion.
“Seeking Charity” – Seeking Series, Book 2 By: Josie Riviera Narrated by: Tessa Petersen
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook novella. It is a clean light/easy reading historical romance. I received from the author the chance to request an ‘audio code’ for this book, and, I was one of the lucky ones to respond in time to win a code. Thank you Josie Riviera.
My honest opinion of this book is … It is a worthy read. Hope you agree. Happy Reading ! !
This is a wonderful and sweet, Christian regency novella. I liked the bit on romany culture. It’s always fun to learn something new when reading books. The characters and storyline were good and enjoyable also.

It did take some doing on my part to get into this book. But once I did it was a pleasant read. The author seemed to have done a good deal of research in the Romany Gypsy language and culture. I learned that it doesn’t interest me much and perhaps that’s the reason the first chapter dragged on in my opinion. Charity and Daniel’s story made up for it as their love blossomed with their Christian faith. It was a sweet romantic tale from childhood to adulthood and I loved it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Loved this story so fun to follow Charity as she makes her decision on which way her life should go. Would recommend.
Charity has lived as a Rom for 6 years after fleeing from the cruelty of her father. Daniel and Charity grew up as best friends but she had never told him of her father’s punishments. A chance meeting or guidance from God bring the two together in Wales. I enjoyed this story.
Girl runs away from Father’s cruelty and joins a group of gypsys. Meet a long time friend and love. Enjoyed reading. Thank you.
This is a Very Enjoyable Book!
In her youth, Charity’s father was abusive, yet God has given her an awesome friend in Daniel.
At the age of fourteen, Charity ran away and ended up living with Gypsies in Wales.
Six years later, Daniel takes a trip with his sister to Wales and sees from a distance a woman picking blueberries who looks like Charity. He can’t get this woman out of his mind.
This is their story. Really liked it!
Josie Rivera has crafted a beautiful, clean historical romance by interweaving her knowledge of the Romani culture with the lives of Charity Weston and her best friend, Daniel Hayward. When they were growing up, Daniel was her playmate and her protector from everything except her father’s mental and physical abuse, administered under the guise of Christianity. When she finally ran away from her proper, “Christian” home at age fourteen and joined a band of gypsies in Wales, her father told everyone that she had died.
Daniel has mourned Charity for the past six years and at age twenty-four he still has no desire to marry anyone else. While traveling through Wales with his sister, Penelope, he spies an unusual looking Gypsy woman who looks amazingly like Charity and the following morning he sets out to find her praying that God will guide his steps.
This story is more than a love story; it is also a story of faith and hope. I liked that the author made Charity intelligent, with a strong character, in spite of her difficult upbringing. This was a delightful, clean romance that was fun to read.
Seeking Charity by Josie Riviera
Starts out with us learning about Charity and her life in the gypsy troop. The customs are so interesting to learn about.
She’s run away from her father because of what he does to her and she’s happy to have to steal to get food, if it comes to that. It’s just a fact of life, or they’d die.
Even after changing her name she rmembers a boy from her younger days and he finds her again. She thinks it’s to bring her back to her father but he’s told her other news.
You wonder if they can ever get together or just be friends the rest of their lives. Liked this book a lot but the time frame caught me off guard. Loved hearing of the colors of clothing.
Recipe for Welsh Cawl Stew, note from the author, excerpt from seeking fortune, in the series, acknowledgements, about the author, other works by the author are all highlighted at the end.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Charity left life as she knew it 6 years ago. A life of endurance and suffering at the hand of her father. But, at the same time, she left her best friend and champion, Daniel. The young man who brought peace into her troubled life. In the meantime, she has adopted the life of a gypsy. Yet, can she completely ignore her yearning for what was and might have been?
Daniel never quite recovered from Charity’s disappearance, not quite believing her father’s declaration of her death. Now, 6 years later, he can hardly believe that he’s found her – in Wales of all places. But, the question remains as to if he can convince her to make a life with him instead of the gypsies. As her secrets are revealed, will she be able to trust him?
This is a sweet story of second chances and how true love can overcome past hurts and pain. Charity’s faith in God had been damaged, but Daniel was able to reassure her and help her return to the faith.
