A standalone, contemporary romance that’s faster, steamier, grittier . . . but with the emotional impact you’ve come to expect from New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan.Wealthy socialite Olivia Barton never imagined her fiancé would disappear on what was supposed to be a routine business trip. She’s even more heartbroken and confused when a hired private investigator tracks him half a … private investigator tracks him half a world away, to a seaside town in Colombia. But the country has recently been ravaged by a massive earthquake and deadly tsunami, shutting down outside communication and making travel all but impossible. Still, Olivia is determined to make it to Colombia to find the answers she so desperately seeks. What she needs is a guide—a mercenary.
The man named Thomas arrives in shadows, an unmistakable air of danger about him, promising to help lead her through the ruined, crime-infested country. But when Thomas and Olivia find themselves fighting an undeniable attraction, danger takes on a whole new meaning. Then again, in the lush jungles of South America, all the rules are different and Thomas and Olivia are about to discover that sometimes the thing you seek, isn’t necessarily the thing you find.
THIS IS A STANDALONE SOLSTICE NOVEL. Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Mia always has a way of making you think hard about your choices and the decisions you make for your own life. Allowing yourself to feel and to be loved is almost always a pivoting part of her characters “flaws” if you would call them that. Thomas has a job to do. Get wealthy, foolish Olivia to her missing fiancé in Columbia. He’s sworn off love because love makes you weak. He never saw Livvy coming and soon decisions will need to be made in order to keep his isolation and well maintained life, such that it is. I suppose I saw the climax coming so it didn’t hit as hard as it probably should have (the dangers of reading so many books is you get jaded lol), but in the end it was a story that had me glued right to the end.
I enjoyed listening to this. The narrators were very good and brought this passionate couple to life. Their travels to Palomina, Columbia not the only journey they took. Resolving her feelings for the man who jolted her, and his for his awful childhood. They shared so much of themselves. The chemistry sparking from the jungles of Columbia to the beachside towns devastated by earthquake and tsunami.
The utter devastation came with the discovery of lies by everyone she cared about. Trust? Loss? Love?
He’s a mercenary. What future is there? She wants it all; deserves it all.
Mia Sheridan never lets me down and Seek was another good book.
Seek is a different kind of book than Mia Sheridan normally writes and it’s a definite must read!!! It’s fast-paced, action-packed, with suspense and has just the right amount of steamy romance. Also, I loved the twist at the end and it was nice to see a familiar character from the Sign of Love series. Olivia is a strong and determine heroine on a quest to find her missing fiancée in Columbia. Thomas is a sexy, tough, ex-military, alpha man who is emotionally unavailable and has been hired to help Olivia find her fiancée. During their mission, Olivia and Thomas come together in more ways than one which leads to an explosive and edge of your seat adventure. Don’t miss out on this awesome book!!!
Thomas and Livvy really hit me in the feels. Olivia’s perseverance in finding Alec because he is her “family” was made even more heartbreaking by the outcome. And poor Thomas! His telling of his past brought tears to my eyes. These two broken souls, who really didn’t see themselves that way, found each other in the strangest of circumstances. And found love and real family in the process.
How much ‘worth’ do you place in someone else’s life? For Olivia Barton – the reality of that question weights heavy upon her shoulders. With her fiancé missing after what was supposed to be a business trip, Olivia is faced with the burden of uncovering inconsistencies about his whereabouts. As the reality of a natural disaster comes barreling down upon her indecision, Olivia decides that she must uncover the truth surrounding his disappearance.
With a tsunami devastating the town of Colombia, Olivia knows that she might not find her fiancé alive. A stark contradiction from the wedding the two were planning. With limited communication, harsh traveling terrain, and no way to communicate with the people of Colombia, Olivia sets out to hire a guide to lead her to the ravaged country so far from home.
Shrouded in mystery, Thomas appears just when Olivia needs him most. A confusing individual that Olivia hires to take her on the journey through some of the most treacherous terrain she will ever encounter. Thomas and Olivia head out on their search for answers. Facing unbelievable odds to uncover what has happened to the man that Olivia thought she knew so well. As they begin to spend more time together on their journey, Olivia and Thomas quickly discover they possess an undeniable attraction for one another. Adding another ‘inconvenience’ to their journey.
As with all things, the two learn that nothing is as it seems. A reality that will quickly alter the outcome of their search.
Seek is the latest release from author Mia Sheridan. It is jam packed with twists and turns that surround our two main characters. Some will have you desperate to uncover more in this tainted tale of dedication and quest for answers. The mystery surrounding both Thomas and Alec pushed the plot into the unknown. Strengthening the desire to see where Olivia’s search for the truth will lead.
While I think Seek was a GREAT book, I figured out the ‘twists’ pretty early on. The book would have been out of this world had there been less clues sprinkled throughout the novel. Otherwise, it is a solid story plot that will leave you glued to the pages. Another ‘bonus’ that fans of Mia’s will enjoy…..you will discover a slight connection to another Sign of Love book!
Wonderful story and characters
Olivia’s fiance’ Alec, goes missing and she hires an investigator to help. When she learns Alec is in Columbia she seeks help from a guide. Thomas was not what she expected. She didn’t expect to start feeling things for the man who was helping her find her lost fiance’. He is mysterious and at times cold, yet Olivia sees the good beneath his rough exterior.
Thomas is hired by Olivia to take her to her fiance’ in Columbia. As an ex-navy seal, he was an excellent choice for the earthquake, tsunami-torn Columbian terrain. And while he had a job to do, he couldn’t seem to fight his attraction to Olivia.
They run into quite a bit of trouble along their journey and it only serves to bring them closer together.
I read my first Mia Sheridan book, ‘Leo’ in March of 2013. Since that time I have become a HUGE fan of her storytelling. Her books are generally angsty, sexy and hold a message. Sheridan has always been one of my top favorite authors. So, keeping it real here, this was my least favorite book from Sheridan.
I was looking forward to the thrilling element the blurb promised and while there was some intrigue, because the story was rushed, the thrill was lost. Also, the characters fell flat for me. The instant attraction/love was over the top and everything just felt rushed. I didn’t get a chance to connect with the characters and believe in them before they connected with one another. Olivia at times comes across as self-assured and then other times as immature. Thomas was a tortured hero and by all accounts, I should have loved him. But there wasn’t much depth to his character.
Having said all of that, I can’t wait to read what Mia Sheridan writes next because out of the 11 books from her I’ve read, my average rating is 4.6!
4,5 “I was really doing this. My God, I was really doing this” stars
When Mia Sheridan tells she’s going to release a book, what do you do? You put it on your TBR list without even reading the synopsis, right?! I haven’t read all of her books, but I’ve read enough to know that this is different from what she usually writes. And when one author risks another genre, we get a little suspicious. However, you don’t have to be. Not at all. Not only did Mia bring a story that is the kind I love to read, but she SUCCEEDED in doing so.
Alec, Olivia’s fiancé, disappeared two months ago and that made her hire a P.I. to look for him. And then came the first clue: he was in Colombia. Olivia wanted to go after him, but the country had suffered from earthquakes and tsunamis, making it very dangerous to travel there. Determined to find out what really happened to Alec, she hires a mysterious man to protect her and take her close to the answers she wants.
The two characters are presented vaguely and in the course of the story we learn more about them and we come to like more and more. Olivia is stronger than she looks and she’s super charismatic. Thomas is mysterious, calculating, cold, serious. However, his attitudes make us sigh and swoon. He has questionable attitudes, though I would never condemn him. Once he is opening up, there’s no way we would say no to him. The men Mia creates are wonderful and he is no different.
SEEK is not a huge book, but it is quite intense. It’ll make you glued to the pages and you will let go only when it gets to the end. I am the proof of this, since I maintain a huge bags under my eyes for preferring to continue reading than going to sleep. You can’t let go until you know what happened to Alec.
I love books where we try to guess through clues that the book gives about what happened. A lot of the end I already suspected and my only complaint is that the resolution of the climax was very fast.
It has cute moments, tense moments and super hot moments. SEEK was a beautiful surprise and I really hope that the author continues to explore this side more. I highly recommend it!!! The author was fantastic. Mia “really did this. My God, she really did this”.
4.5 stars
“She was sunshine. Warm and bright, too sweet for this cruel, dirty world. Too good.”
What a beautiful contemporary romance by the amazing Mia Sheridan. This author is one of my favorites and I would read anything she writes. So when out of nowhere she announced Seek would release soon, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the book. This book is about Olivia (Livvy) and Thomas. Livvy hires Thomas to get her to a seaside town in Colombia. She needs him to get her safely there. I loved that the book was mainly set in Colombia, I haven’t read many books set in South-America so it was refreshing.
“You dream like I do. Only… you’re more selfless than I am, Thomas. You dream for others.”
Thomas is very closed off and is focused on the job. Livvy is just a sweetheart and that was obvious right off the bat. The prologue showed a piece of Thomas’ past, and that scene broke my heart. It gives the reader an insight into why Thomas is the way he is. Throughout their trip in Colombia these two become closer and an attraction grows. I loved seeing their attraction develop, and the dual POV really helped me getting to know both of them better. Even though they seem the opposite, there are things they can both relate to. There were a couple of plot twists, of which I predicted some. My heart broke for Livvy when the truth was out in the open.
“The dim yellow glow bathed Livvy in shadows and pale yellow light, made her look ethereal, a goddess with flowing hair and alabaster skin. Even the moon loved her. How could it not?”
The author did such an incredible job in telling the story and the characters were great. I loved them both so much, and seeing them coming together was just beautiful. They both deserved to be happy after everything they went through. Their love making was so passionate and emotional, I just felt and believed everything. Seek exceeded my expectations and I didn’t want this book to end. I wish there was an extra chapter or two focusing on the future, because the epilogue wasn’t enough for me. I would love a novella focusing on Livvy and Thomas OR another stand-alone focusing on Thomas’ friend Josh. I highly recommend this book: It was emotional, romantic, suspenseful, heartwarming and more. Readers who have enjoyed previous books by Mia will love this one as well.
My Review Title: Quick suspenseful read!

I am slowly getting back into romantic suspense novels, and Seek was my second romantic suspense novel in about 3 weeks. It’s a sub-genre of romance that I used to be highly addicted to about a decade ago before I got burned out.

Story rating:
I enjoyed it although in hindsight I wish I had read the e-book first and only listened to the audiobook when I wanted to reread it. The female narrator Callie Dalton was very consistent, had good instincts for tone and emotion overall, and did a decent male voice. The male narrator Stephen Dexter was excellent with accents, but he hand struggled with consistency, emoting appropriately and doing the female voices. Another narrator like Jacob Morgan or Zachary Webber would have done this story better justice. I also think this story would have been better enhanced by a duet narration style.
What I liked about this romantic suspense novel…
Sexy / Easy-to-read / Entertaining / Action-packed / Page-turner / Quick read / HEA
Favorite scenes: The book’s opening scene and the epilogue scene.
I loved Brody’s nostalgic recount of how Lobo became his fury companion for a brief time before Brody’s brute of an uncle signed Lobo’s death warrant. And then the epilogue with Brody greeting their newborn made me smile with happiness for their new family unit. Life had dealt them both a tough hand, and it felt time for the universe to do them a solid by blessing them with not only love but a baby to nurture and add to their circle of love.
And I loved the tie-in to Stinger, a character from one of Mia’s previous novels!
Mia Sheridan has a way with words! Her stories pull you in and release you with a warm feeling. I am in love with this story! I read it straight through in one sitting! It is mysterious, challenging, emotional and fast paced.
Olivia Barton is searching for her fiancée Alec, who disappeared on a routine business trip to Miami. After many weeks of no communication Olivia hires a PI who locates Alec in Columbia. Olivia wants to go to him, see if he needs help or to find closure. The only problem, Columbia was hit with an earthquake followed by a tsunami. The coastal town where Alec is located has no communication. She hires “Thomas,” a mercenary/ex-Navy Seal to help guide through the rough Columbian terrain to Alec.
‘He was a type of man I’d never come into contact with before, had no reason to. Until now. He was dangerous, obviously used to the shadows, when I lived in the light.’
Thomas has many sides to him. He is Alpha, tough, raw, gritty and extremely proficient at his job. He is also very closed off. Thomas is mysterious, intense and undeniable hot. He has his reasons for being closed off.
“I was a hunter, by trade and by nature-I couldn’t change it any more than I could change the color of my eyes….”
Olivia is a ray of sunshine. She always wants to help people. Olivia seeks the positive and tries to see the good in people. This, even though her beginning was not so positive. She is not your typical wealthy socialite.
“She was sunshine. Warm and bright, too sweet for this cruel, dirty world. Too good.”
The story is not what it seems. As it unfolds you will be on the edge of your seat. Realities come fast and hard. There are dangerous situations. There is a chemistry between Thomas and Olivia that cannot be denied!
There was a peep at the end when a character from a Sign of Love book appears. If you have read her other ‘Sign of Love’ books it will make you smile! If not, no worries! It was just really cool the way the character tied in at the end. Sort of an “ah ha” moment!
My only tiny complaint is that I wanted more! The epilogue was good but I am greedy! A little bit more may have really put me over the top! But that is me! I love my epilogues!
Classic Mia Sheridan at her finest! You will not be disappointed!
5 stars!

What can I say about Mia Sheridan’s books…
I’m a lost cause, I just couldn’t not love this story!
SEEK is a little different, though: a little more savage, a little steamier, and I loved it.
It was like enjoying my favorite dessert, but adding the best topping to make it even more delicious!
SEEKS still has Mia Sheridan’s writing, with great characters (tortured souls, brave, addicting), a great plot, the perfect pace, and of course an amazing love story.
But SEEKS is also “more”: more passion, more heat, it was overwhelming, really. Maybe because of the danger awaiting, maybe because of its male character, a little savage, a little animalistic…
And Liv, she seems so fragile, she comes from a wealthy background, after all, but as we get to know her, her past, and as the pieces fall into place, we learn that Liv is passionate, honest and really brave. She needs to face reality and answers, to get closure and to move on. As hurtful as they could be.
And sadly, Thomas and Liv don’t seem to have any future together: they have their own demons, their own dreams, too different lifestyles …
And again, the truth at the end of this journey may destroy any feeling or any “thing” they could have been
I devoured this book in one day, it was wonderful to read.
So, why giving it “only” a 4.5 stars?
Well, because I just wanted a little more of my favorite dessert!
A little longer Epilogue, an Epilogue after the Epilogue….
But’s that’s me being greedy.
I always am with Mia Sheridan’s stories!
Grab this book, ladies, it was a wonderful surprise!

What can be any more perfect than reading a surprise release by Mia Sheridan? Nothing that’s what. This 6 star story consumed me from the first page read to the last one. I had read 2 pages and already I knew she would be gutting me raw.
Olivia hires a man to help find her missing fiancé. Thomas is the hired man that will help her through Colombia. They have a plan but nothing will go as planned. That’s all I’ll say.
This is not only a romantic adventurous story but also one of suspense. There will be twist and turns. I was left baffled and speechless by how the story plays out. These characters were perfectly crafted for this story that made me feel a wide range of emotions. If the readers are like me and have read every story written by Mia, there will be a moment of nostalgia from a previous character from one her amazing books.
Bottomline is this a must read. Don’t miss out on this amazingly written story.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
