#1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown delivers nonstop suspense and supercharged sexual tension in a thriller about tainted heroism and vengeance without mercy. Kerra Bailey is a TV journalist hot on the trail of a story guaranteed to skyrocket her career to new heights. Twenty-five years ago, Major Franklin Trapper became a national icon when he was photographed leading a handful of … icon when he was photographed leading a handful of survivors to safety after the bombing of a Dallas hotel. For years, he gave frequent speeches and interviews but then suddenly dropped out of the public eye, shunning all media. Now Kerra is willing to use any means necessary to get an exclusive with the Major–even if she has to secure an introduction from his estranged son, former ATF agent John Trapper.
Still seething over his break with both the ATF and his father, Trapper wants no association with the bombing or the Major. Yet Kerra’s hints that there’s more to the story rouse Trapper’s interest despite himself. And when the interview goes catastrophically awry–with unknown assailants targeting not only the Major, but also Kerra–Trapper realizes he needs her under wraps if he’s going to track down the gunmen . . . and finally discover who was responsible for the Dallas bombing.
Kerra is wary of a man so charming one moment and dangerous the next, and she knows Trapper is withholding evidence from his ATF investigation into the bombing. But having no one else to trust and enemies lurking closer than they know, Kerra and Trapper join forces to expose a sinuous network of lies and conspiracy–and uncover who would want a national hero dead.

Loved the book and the characters! Trapper is a good/bad guy Sexy! Understanding Trapper and you will understand the title of this book.
Love her books
Couldn’t put it down!
Love this book
I love all of Sandra Brown’s books. Wouldn’t hesitate to read any of them. Suspense, romance, great character development. I’ve read a bunch of them twice! Go Ms. Brown!
I was good but it was easy to figure out.
Audio CD
Male protagonist: Channeling a Texas style Dean Winchester, he’s a grumpy, long-tall-hunky-drink-of-water with a hero complex and issues with his father.
Female protagonist: Reporter with a beauty mark.
Your typical suspense story with a land deal as the McGuffin (a McGuffin is an object or device in a movie or a book that serves merely as a trigger for the plot) that starts the ball rolling and endangers the hero, heroine, hero’s dad….everybody.
Nice to say that the body count is not too high or too graphic, but the suspense and the villain were a little anti-climactic. The sex scenes, no other word for it, were pretty intense. Being a manwhore really pays off sometimes.
All in all, sufficiently enjoyable book to listen to.
Yes, read this. Another great Sandra Brown book.
This was an audio book. Typical Sandra Brown format – you know what you are getting – a little mystery, a little romance, a surprise or two thrown in.
Lots of twists and turns in this book. I love the mystery and intrigue portion of Sandra Brown’s books, but this one bordered on pornography. The detailed sex didn’t really help the story line. I felt like it was there just to cause a shock.
I did like that you were left guessing up until the end. Just as you thought everything had been revealed, the author has another shocking moment that leaves you reeling.
Haven’t decided if I’ll read any more books by Sandra Brown. The sex scenes were just too over the top and graphic for my taste.
Good brain puzzler and lots of action.
Kerry Bailey is a top TV journalist who has recently moved to Texas. As a 5 year old, she was one of a few survivors of a bombing in a Dallas Hotel, saved by Major Franklin Trapper. After her mother was killed and her father critically injured, she was taken away be her aunt and uncle, adopted by them and her named changed to protect her from the press. Eventually, she put two and two together. Now as the 25th anniversary approaches, she wants to personally thank her hero and interview him, but after he refuses her calls, she contacts his estranged son, former ATF agent John Trapper. He doesn’t want anything to do with either of them, but when both the Major and Kerry are attacked after the interview, Trapper vows to track down the men responsible for the attack and the original bombing and keep Kerry safe.
The characters are very well developed, and the plot full of twist and turns. I read the book in one afternoon, because I did not want to put it down.
Not on par with other Sandra Brown books.
I love Sandra Brown. This book was challenging for me to get involved in though. I must have gotten it from the library at least five times before I was able to finally get to a point that I was interested enough to finish it. Once I got to that point, it was great. Slow going for me though. Not her best work for me.
Awesome!
Sandra Brown delivered a great book with characters you started to love, and the story line was on point
As with most Sandra Brown books, she writes great characters. Liked the story as well, it was an original story as well.
Always enjoy her books. She never fails to keep things entertaining and sexy.
As usual always a good read by Sandra Brown
I found this book to be so-so! Have loved Sandra Brown’s books in the past, but have found it a struggle to read the last two of hers that I have read. I don’t know if she has lost her edge or if my reading taste has changed. I found Seeing Red to be a slow start—seemed to just go back and forth–until the last half of the book. The characters were likeable enough and there was some action, but it was like reading the same thing over and over. I may go back and read one of Ms. Brown’s earlier books to see if it is my reading taste or her writing that has gotten stale. I gave it 4 stars because it was gramatically well-written and because it finally picked up speed and was a pretty good book in the end.
