more
I found the storyline intriguing. I almost skipped to the end because I had to know the ending. But I enjoyed the book and the letters were a very novel approach.
This was actually a very good book. I enjoyed the characters and the fact that it was clean and funny. I found myself smiling as I read it and that’s always a good sign. The addition of the riddles made for an interesting read.
The Power of Words
“His simple words send them both on an unexpected journey” – and what a journey it was! Great plot, great writing, and deep characters. I enjoyed seeing this story unfold. The conclusion was a bit too drawn-out at the end, but still a great read.
This author writes with emotion and with knowledge. I love her characters and her plot. And the settings feel right too.Good book.
It was good as far as romance books go. I liked that they got to know each other before instantly being in love. It was a quick read.
I enjoyed this book, but it dragged in spots. I was glad when we finally found out what LHF stood for.
3 1/2 Stars. The book was just ok for me. The portion of the book where the male protagonist was trying to figure out who the anonymous business partner was went on so long that I almost stopped reading the book. I found that the book had a lot of repetitiousness.
A lovely book an accomplished author a good read an interesting story.
Well done
Very well done. Nice slow build to the romance. Both characters mature and the feelings develop over time. There is a bit of deception and some danger. Great free read.
This is an excellently written novel , not the usual plots or situations that are quite repeatedly used in regency historical romance stories . The H and h meet but had to go their separate ways. The h, an heiress who manages the financial empire she inherited from her father secretly financially helps the H to start a business in India. So they start writing letters to each other to keep up with the joint business or partnership they started. The h does not divulge her identity , just signs her letters as LHF. She gives business advice to the H and teaches him her father’s business savvy. They eventually become the best of friends even confiding their innermost feelings to each other. All this time, the H thought LHF was an elder gentleman, one of the friends of his sister’s husband. So they were communicating for seven years and the H finally comes back to England quite a rich man because of their business partnership. So the H wanted to find and meet his best friend LHF. When the h tells H she is LHF, he felt betrayed and so it took a little bit more time before they got to their HEA.
Loved this book. It drew me in from the first page and never let go until the last. Beautiful !
Not great literature but a clean engaging story.
This book was so frustrating. For me, it was more frustrating than interesting.
Loved it. Will be looking for other books by the author. Will recommend to friends.
A great story. So sorry to see it end.
It was easy to read, I enjoyed the characters
good read
Well written true Regency with great dialogue and an entertaining plot.
An enjoyable book/story. I looked forward to reading it each evening. Too much repetition about how/when she should reveal her true identity and about Blake’s trust issues and if/whether he can forgive her. Skimming past all that made for a faster read.
This was a fast fun read.
I like the characters. I would read more from this author.
I read of lot of Historical Romances. Would probably read this again at some point.
