This is a box set of three tales extremely loosely connected to each other, but with that aside, I don’t even think it’s very good tentacle smut in the first place.
First tale is a love-’em-and-leave-’em in as romantically as this could possibly be… but not even that heart-rending is that’s what you’re looking for. It really could had been so much better, being one of those bittersweet tales of star-crossed lovers, but it wasn’t. But compared to the other two, it could had been the best if you’re jaded like me when it comes to editing.
Second tale IS the bittersweet fairy tale that does eventually end as an HEA, one that I think is the best in the book. BUT… it isn’t. It could had been enriched to the point it wouldn’t had just been tentacle smut but something far more romantic with tentacles. My only complaint is that too many pages was devoted to mere mortal sex that was extremely gratuitous even though I have an inkling that the author felt it was needed to explain the heroine’s actions at the end. Trust me, she could had been just a great voyeur for a sex scene that could had been cut down to one page, and she would have had the justification she felt she needed. Trust me, that section could had been axed out and it would have had made NO CHANGE for the rest of the story.
The third… it had the trappings of a good sf short story, but it was SOOOOO poorly edited, I almost left it unfinished. It’s extremely rare for me to stop reading, yet I came awfully close to doing so. First of all, WHERE WAS THE EDITOR? Or was it really called a writer’s spellcheck on her computer?? First of all, you hunt MUSSELS in tide pools, not MUSCLES. I would have laughed if it wasn’t so awful. I repetitive saw “common” being the word chose to represent “come on”! Geez!!!! This was such an amateurish mistake that even a writer could have discovered if she made an effort to do a read-through by reading it aloud. Obviously, I guess her reading audience didn’t deserve such attention… What hurts is that the author had the basis of a really cool sci-fi tale BUT failed terribly. Too rushed. Extremely poor exposition. This tale wasn’t meant for the short story length given, which was really disappointing. There was a chance for some impressive world-building had she had taken the time.
Here’s the kicker. The tentacle sex wasn’t even that good. On a scale of one to ten, I would had given it a three. Why? Tentacle sex wasn’t really there! The only difference between this book set’s tentacle sex is that the penis was now a tentacle. Maybe a few suction cups were mentioned in the first book, but that was it. Nothing memorable in Book Two or Book Three. Sorry. I know what good tentacle sex reading is supposed to be like, and this was nothing close. It just reminded me of how octopi have sex. The male octopus has a specialized tentacle which is the SMALLEST of the rest. Some species has the male ripping his off and giving it to the female for proper impregnation. Even this would had been a little more memorable than what I had just read. I’m just glad I read this via KU rather than have bought it.
No, I am not recommending that you should buy this. If you need some smut to get you through the night, you might have better stuff to read in your existing library than this. If you’re curious, go ahead, but even my favorite short story of alien sex is a far-cry better than this. Sorry, dear author, but I’m just calling it as I see it. If you had me help you with editing, I’m sure we could have produced something fabulous is you wanted to work with me. In the future, read some good tentacle sex or watch some Japanese anime tentacle sex for ideas. These could help.

Sounds impossible, but we got s good story here. I was very pleasantly surprised that this book had a good world building story. The characters were great, even though I thought it was impossible with tentacles involved, thoughtful and sensual. An all around good read.
A fun set of stories to pass the time! Nice and quick to read one book follows the next . Good characters nice and steamy reading!
This was a super short novella it was interesting to say at least. One thing I would say that Amanda was very naive in some way. She gets impregnated by a alien species who tell her to come back to the cave to give birth. I was like ” Ok then what”!!!! Doesn’t she have a say on if she wants to be with her childrens??? And really where is she suppose to go after this experience!!! It just didn’t make any sense to me. This novella left you hanging there was no real resolution maybe for the alien but not Amanda. I felt like I just read the beginning but that all it was and I can’t really say there was a cliffhanger ending because there wasn’t. I’m just left with lots of questions and a mess of confusion. I received a free copy via Booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
