Author Interview
Q: What makes the Wishful series special?
Wishful is a collection of southern romance novels honoring my Mississippi roots. When I started the series, I set out to highlight everything that I love about living in the small town South–all our quirks, foibles, and dreams provide a fabulous (and often funny) backdrop to contemporary romances about stubborn, independent women and the men who love them.
Q: Who would dig these books?
Wishful is a southern romance series written for anyone looking for love in a small town. If you loved Hart of Dixie and miss the residents of Bluebell, you just might fall in love with Wishful. It’s a town where everybody knows your name and hope springs eternal! Many of my readers also enjoy the books of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kristan Higgins, Melanie Shawn, Ava Miles, and Jill Shalvis.
Q: What order should I read the books in?
This southern romance series has been written so that each story is a standalone that wraps up with a happily ever after by The End. That said, if you want to read them in chronological order I suggest this:
* To Get Me To You
* Be Careful, It’s My Heart
* Know Me Well
* Just For This Moment
* Wish I Might
* Turn My World Around
* Dance Me A Dream
* See You Again
Q: Are there crossovers with other series?
YES! My Meet Cute Romance series of novelettes includes two Wishful stories.
* Once Upon A Coffee
* Once Upon A Setup
My WISHING FOR A HERO series takes a look at the more suspenseful side of Wishful.
* If I Didn’t Care

Enjoyed this book
This book had a very happy ending. I really like it.
As I began to read this story I thought, “Oh good, it’s going to be a good, charming second chance story.” In a sweet charming town something like the town Fools Gold in the books by Susan Mallery. Well, that would be a yes AND a no in answer to those thoughts.
The town did have a small town feeling to it, where gossip is a mainstay but they also know how and WILL band together to have each others backs. But there was also more depth and emotion to the story than I was expecting. All going on while Sandra was helping pull of her son’s wedding to Norah, who was another good character. Problem after problem kept cropping up when it came to pulling off that wedding. But it does also bring about the face to face between Trey and Sandra. Th story really have more depth to it than I was expecting.
Sandra has lived quite the hellish life at times but she also has quite a bit of love that surrounds her too. Her son Cam is someone that she gave up so much of her own personal happiness for. Happiness that had to do with her feelings for Gerald or Trey as she knows him as. Her family surrounds her almost to the point of making her feel like they don’t trust her judgement when it comes to men or personal decisions. They didn’t realize it till later but they just love her so much, it was overpowering to her at times. Her mother Helen added a bit of spunk to the story even though she only showed up a few times.
Gerald/Trey moved on in his life after he lost Sandra but that doesn’t mean he was happier. But he did success financially, helping build up the family business even more prosperous than it already was. He still wondered about Sandra though, was there any future for them?
There is an unexpected twist towards the end of the book which I thought was a nice touch. All I will say is that it had to do with Sandra’s ex husband.
Do Trey and Sandra get their H.E.A.? You betcha. But it won’t be all sunshine and roses to get there because look at all the baggage they have to work through? But it was worth it, I enjoyed the process.
I think I will be looking into some more stories in this series especially since there was a quick look into a couple of them at end of the book. I’ve got my eye on “You were meant for me” Book #10.
Finally! A romance for readers my age. This is a second chance romance, the characters having known each other in college. But they headed in different directions and come back together almost 30 years later. I love reading about a chance for love and happiness after your kids are grown. Full of romantic tension and a few laugh-out-loud moments, Kait Nolan doesn’t disappoint.
So sweet, young love found again.
Great read
Enjoyed this book!
Good read.
As usual, I could not put it down! Love these characters!
This was a sweet story — enjoyed it very much
I loved this book. It’s Trey & Sandy’s story. They fell in love while they were in college but she was married & decided to try to make her marriage work. Now it’s 30 years later & they meet again in Wishful, Mississippi & they’re both divorced. I recommend it for a very enjoyable experience. Hope you like it as much as I do.
Loved it. Thank you!
I read this book first before any of the others in this series, but I reckon that by the time I was halfway through the 1st book in the series I was hooked on the town of Wishful.
Ms Nolan’s prose is such that while I’m reading the words translate straight into images in my mind even before I recognize the words themselves.
It’s an okay story but the author left some things not tied up. For example: What did her ex do to attract the feds?
It lost a star ( I give it 2 out of 5) for using the last 29% of the “book” as previews for the other books the author has written. When I get a book, I want the whole story. I don’t want wasted space on my Kindle with “previews” of other books the author would love for me to buy. That turns me off. I’ll find other books to read without this author’s “help.”
I enjoyed this second chance love story with a mature couple. Sandy and Trey were 50ish and that made a good story with people who had life experiences. This was a short fun read that was well written with great characters.
See You Again is a delightful second chance romance featuring a middle-aged couple, Sandy and Trey. I love stories with older couples because I can really relate to them. Sandy and Trey have dealt with life’s trials and tribulations and come out stronger and wiser. I was pleased to see the issue that caused them to separate 30 years ago was addressed in a straight forward manner early on. Trey’s idea for a surprise date was a dandy. It definitely set the stage for the rest of their relationship.
I love the town of Wishful. A community that pulls together to help their own is a wonderful place to live. Even with everybody knowing everyone’s business, I would love to live there.
I strongly urge you to read See You Again. Kait Nolan’s books are well-written and filled with unique characters you will fall in love with. Guaranteed.
A standalone read with a HEA. Low on the sex scale. This is a series but you can read this book as a standalone. The Mayor finds her first love from college. A really good story with an older hero and heroine. I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. A little drama but a fun, modern day read. Good entertainment.
