In this suspenseful New York Times bestseller, a chance encounter between a successful lawyer and a rebellious bad boy will change life as they know it forever, as their pasts catch up with them . . . Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With a history of violence and bad decisions behind him and the threat of prison dogging his every step, he’s determined to walk a straight … determined to walk a straight line. To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly toward his teaching degree and avoiding everything that proved destructive in his earlier life. Reminding himself daily of his hard-earned lessons, the last thing he is looking for is a serious relationship.
Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican immigrants, is the picture of conventional success. With a degree from Duke Law School and a job at a prestigious firm in Wilmington, she is a dark-haired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track record. And yet Maria has a traumatic history of her own, one that compelled her to return to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed.
A chance encounter on a rain-swept road will alter the course of both Colin and Maria’s lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and ultimately, themselves. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, they dare to envision what a future together could possibly look like . . . until menacing reminders of events in Maria’s past begin to surface.
Rich in emotion and fueled with suspense, SEE ME reminds us that love is sometimes forged in the crises that threaten to shatter us . . . and that those who see us for who we truly are may not always be the ones easiest to recognize.

Another moving story that I couldn’t put down. Nicholas Sparks never disappoints.
Nicholas Sparks has been one of my favorite authors since 1995 when he wrote The Notebook. I know when I read one of his books I will one cry and two love it. Well this book is true to form. I really loved this story. It was a little different then most of his books but it was still great. Didn’t make me cry to much but did shed a tear. Christopher Ryan Grant does a wonderful job of narrating this book and making it come alive.
Nicholas Sparks is a great storyteller. He makes you feel like you are a part of the book as you relate to the characters. “See Me” is a great read. I had a hard time putting the book down.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about “See Me” by Nicholas Sparks, which is saying a lot because many of Sparks’ books are hit or miss for me.
I keep reading nearly everything he writes, though, because the ones I like, I like A LOT!
In “See Me,” I have to say that his characters, more than the story itself, made the book. I loved Colin, even with all his troubles, which were and weren’t his fault. Mostly, I loved that he was so honest about who he was and what he’d done in his past. I found it to be very refreshing, even when everyone around him was telling him, “You don’t always have to be so honest…” His answer for everything, “Okay.”
While his co-characters got frustrated, I was talking to my Kindle, saying, “I get you, Colin! I do the same thing, and I know it drives people crazy.”
I also liked Maria. She — most of the time — had a lot of patience with him, and she was just simply likable, as were her parents. The fact that my grandmother was naturalized and worked her butt off to make it in the U.S. probably accounted for my compassion for them.
All that said, if you like character-driven stories with a happily ever after you have to work a tiny bit for, you should like this one!
So in love with this book. Felt like a movie in my head.
I read the prologue of the book and almost chose not to complete it because I was left confused. As I continued, I grew to like the characters more. The relationship blossomed quickly and the trust and dependability of the main characters friends was charming.
I could not pull my face away from this book. It is absolutely wonderful and i recommend it to anyone. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat
I’ve been a fan since the beginning, and was not disappointed with this story. I’m not about spoilers…
Another great Sparks read. We all have a past and how we change and grow can define us, but what happens when the past meets the future. Great characters and while a big book a fast read because you don’t want to put it down.
Great read!
Loved it. Another winner for Nicholas Sparks
This book started out slowly and I almost did not continue. It got more exciting and unpredictable with an unrealistic ending. Not Nicholas Sparks best book.
A good beach read
Loved Colin’s straight forward answers and how he turned his life around. Would have liked more of his perspective at the end of book.
it kept me on pins and needles all the way through.
A page turner. Keeps you interested and wanting to read more.
Held your interest
I enjoyed this book, but I am not as much of a mystery fan so I was a bit disappointed in this turn of genres for N Sparks. But I know I am in a minority:)
Absolutely terrific! I thought his best yet.
Very god.
