A Thief and a Prince? Really??
Prince Zhang Jin is with his brothers at the annual Qi-Zi ceremony where all of the eligible young women are paraded in front of them in the hopes that one of them will pick a bride. Every year is the same and none of them want to be wed. This year the ceremony is disrupted by the guards dragging in a women all dressed in black. They caught her trying to steal The Jade Phoenix, the ultimate treasure of their people. Suddenly Jin’s dead grandfather appears by his side and tells him it is time and then enters his body. He forces Jin to claim the thief as his bride. Then he leaves, expecting Jin to do what? He has no idea, but he will honor his word.
Francesca La Rosa is caught trying to steal the Phoenix. She can’t figure out how she was caught, but she expects to be executed for her crime. She is shocked when the most handsome of the Princes announces that she is his bride. Yeah, like that is going to happen. But a girl has to take what is handed to her until she figures a way out of the situation.
This is a very emotional journey for both Jin and Francesca. Will they ever be able to admit to the feelings they are developing for each other. And why is Francesca after the Jade Phoenix?

This is the anniversary addition of this book and was a wonderful story. The storyline was interesting with action adventure and a theif . The characters Prince ends up with a bride he didn’t except and Francesca is just a stunned. This was a great adventure with wonderful characters and a amazing ending.
We have met Jin briefly before when his sister Mei finally met her match in a certain spacefaring shapeshifter!
He has to endure the meet and greet that encapsulates the ceremony for him and his brothers to possibly meet their wives. His life is just the way he wants it but a ghostly ancestor takes over his body and he ends up claiming a bride…pity she was just hauled in front of the royal family for attempting to steal a sacred jade.
Francesca had a bum deal for most of her life. Then she met a great shufu warrior and he taught her everything she knows about the outlawed form of martial arts. Now on a mission to carry out the act of revenge they had planned, she is after the sacred jade and she’ll do just about anything to get it. But will she marry Jin in order to get what she wants?
There is a great deal of attention paid to the customs of China, from where most of this planet originates, before colonising this planet. Francesca is no shrinking violet and an intriguing mix of naïve and manipulative! Jin squabbling with his various ghostly ancestors is very funny and I could just seem him stalking down corridors looking like a mad man, talking to thin air!
Prince Zhang Jin has been possessed by his grandfather and now he is engaged to a Thief and the thief Francesca La Rosa will do anything and does to get her revenge. She is there to avenge the man that saved her from slavery. She drives the prince crazy because all he wants is to remain in the palace and learn the history of the Zhang Dynasty but this woman has touched something deep in him and he wants her but he cannot trust her but he can do nothing because his grandfather while possessing him told everyone who was in attendance at the showing for all the princes the women that were being presented as brides, that he was going to marry Francesca, who was caught by is grandmother and brought to the family cursing up a storm because she thought she was about to get the prize and get away. This is a fascinating story you will enjoy the characters the living and the dead are fun. I received a copy as a gift from the author. I am providing an honest review with out obligation.
Honor her past at the expense of her future. Claim happiness but betray her past. Two choices that can only end in guilt. What does beautiful thief Francesca choose?
Prince Yin, steeped in history and tradition, seems unlikely to pick someone like Francesca as a wife when he has refused the parade of nobles that came before her.
This book set in the future intrigues the reader and keep us wanting more.
Yin and Francesca have chemistry working for them, but trust is harder to come by. With the past and present at odds with any relationship, can they get beyond it? Is there a future for them together? Can they find love?
This is no easy task but reading their struggle and getting to know them has been a real pleasure. Ms Pillow never disappoints and she certainly didn’t this time.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
3.5 stars. Dynasty Lords Series: Seduction of the Phoenix Is a romance of a prince raised in a dynasty that is very traditional and full of honor who falls in love with a woman who stole one of their most treasured jewels. She has always been a thief but the one thing she did not expect was to fall in love with the very man who has been sent to kill her. I didn’t enjoy this story as much as the others but it was still interesting.
Jin and Francesca have a wild story about revenge, ancestors taking over, marriage to a stranger, stealing and so much more. The author has a well written storyline with terrific characters who jump off the pages and into your heart. Cheering them on was easy as the story unfolds. Loved the bond they slowly achieve and the teamwork that happens to get to the bottom of what is going on. Fate plays out in a very unique way. Love this series and can not wait for the next part.

Spiritual Love
Michelle M. Pillow’s first book in her ‘Dynasty Lords’ series is magnificent. There’s mystery, adventure, suspense and romance. Zhang Jin and Francesca, the main characters, seem like an unlikely pair. He’s a prince and she’s a thief. At the annual gala where all the Prince’s of the Zhang dynastymust attend and pick a possible wife. Jin nor any of his brothers had any intentions of choosing a wife again this year because they still wanted their freedom. Until guards bring Francesca into the palace to stand before the Emperor and Emperoress, kicking and screaming obscenities. The spirit of Jin’s grandfather speaks to him insisting he take Francesca as his bride. You need to read this book because things really start to heat up now. Wonderful story that I found hard to put down. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
Pillow knocks it out of the park again with this first book in her Dynasty Lords series – a series spun off from her Space Lords books, but easily readable without reading the Space Lords books. In Seduction of the Phoenix Pillow explores the Zhang Empire, where honor, tradition, and the ancestors are ways of life. It’s a fascinating world with a distinctly Chinese flavor to it, but with intriguing post-Earth elements – like the fact that ones ancestors can be seen, and spoken with. Both Prince Jin and ambitious thief Francesca La Rosa are compelling characters, and their relationship starts off with a bang and never stops surprising. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable romance story, with twists and turns to keep you guessing, and enough angst and emotion to lock the reader to the page, and a strong focus on the romance itself, though there are other aspects to the tale, of course. Fans of the Qurilixen World books won’t be disappointed, but at the same time, this is a great first read for those new to Pillow’s universe and unfailingly exciting romantic adventures.

This was not at all what I expected, and not in a good way. This Qurilixen World Novel-Dynasty Lords was a bit of an uneven read for me, there were chapters that were a struggle to get through and frankly I found myself skimming and even skipping chapters. Jin and his brothers are required to choose a bride and while viewing the potential lineup, Francesco is dragged in by guards. She was attempting to steal a valuable artifact and was caught. Jin’s dead grandfather appears to him and tells him she’s the one, so he claims her. The story has twists, turns, action, and steam. Not a fast read and a bit ponderous.

Nice read with a little action, suspense, romance and a funny sense of poetic justice in the pairing of the main couple. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Prince Jin doesn’t want to have a wife. But he has no choice and during the bride choosing ceremony the guards bring a woman in who has tried to steal the Phoenix. He chooses her as his bride. She still ends up taking the Phoenix and Jin must find her. Good book with mystery, adventure and romance.
Entertaining story; enjoyed the Asian inspired elements and the enemies to lovers scenario. Not huge on the whole royal must marry scenario, or Francesca’s rudeness, but still a fun read with some good passion and sweetness. Jin is a sweetheart! I just wanted more from Francesca. Overall, I enjoyed the read and look forward to reading more in this series.
Michelle M. Pillow works her magic on this book. The characters and story line were well written and entertaining. This was a great addition to the Qurilixen World.

This is an interesting paranormal read. It is fun and nicely developed. I really like the characters but one drove me a little batty. This story is about Prince Zhang Jin and his little determined thief. It is nicely developed and keeps you captivated until the last page.
I started out reading this author when I downloaded her Dragon Lords Series, this book the first in this new series is very different, not at all what I was expecting but I have to say it had me hooked even though some of the chapters were a little difficult to get through. That said I’m glad I continued reading because the storyline although different is well thought out and the characters are well-drawn.
I look forward to reading the next book.
This is part of the dynasty lords books. They are a Qurilixen world book. I enjoyed this book. I like this series and author.
Princess Mei’s (The Pirate Prince – Lords of the Var Book 5) brother Jin gets his story told (though truth be told – I was hoping that Haun’s story would be first).
I liked Francesca more than I liked and Jin. Tha whole Zhang family (with the exception of Mei) are really steeped in honor and tradition and can barely see past it. Francesca is following the path of her Master and it leads to a conflict with the Zhang family.
The story is good and brings back some favorites from The Pirate Prince. Once again Zhang ancestors set events in motion. Though not action packed (like the Dragon Lords or the Lords of Var) this story has lots of personal reflection for the two main characters.
I am hoping the the author will expand the Dynasty Lords and give all of the Zhangs a story.
Slightly confusing at first, then turning into revenging the past, unwilling seduction, conflicting emotions, theft and escape a revenge that wasn’t and so much more
