Seducing the Billionaire is the first book in J.M. Stewart’s new series: The Blue Room. I was captivated from the opening pages. Jenna Mancini has lost all confidence she has in herself. Her ex-boyfriend body shamed her and his hurtful words are constantly in the back of her mind.
When Jenna decides to take her chances at Seattle’s newest club, she meets Hunter Thane. Hunter is successful managing the vineyards he inherited from his grandfather. But what many don’t know is he is hiding a secret. A secret that has shaped him into the man he is today.
As Jenna and Hunter grow closer, can Hunter overcome the secrets that have held him back from experiencing his life to its fullest? And, can Jenna learn to overcome her issues or will her past come back to further haunt her?
Seducing the Billionaire is a fantastic book that I couldn’t put down. I’ve followed Ms. Stewart for a long time and her writing keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I received an advanced copy of Seducing the Billionaire which I chose to read and review. This is my true and honest review.
Jenna Mancini carries a wounded heart and shattered confidence, and craves to rediscover the woman she used to be, before her ex-boyfriend broke her. She wants to feel desirable again, be confident in the woman she is, not the one he wanted her to be. So her best friend suggests she join her at this special club for a night or two of fun, guaranteeing it will help her get her confidence back, and help her heal.
Meeting a man like Hunter Thane there was completely unexpected, their connection was instant, and their attraction to one another was undeniable. Both were only looking for a convenient intimate connection, which they found, but they also found an emotional connection too. Hunter managed to bring out a side in her that she hadn’t seen in a while, and she found a way to sneak past all his defenses and bring him a sense of comfort he never knew.
But bringing emotions into their arrangement also brings the possibility of complications neither of them want or need in their lives…
Beneath the pages of this expertly crafted tale lies a story of two wounded souls who turn to one another for a physical connection, and wind up discovering a deeply emotional one too. This was a heart-wrenching story, the pain caused from what these two had endured could be felt in every word, but what their union brought to the pages was quite beautiful. Watching them find the courage to embrace their painful pasts, heal one another, and open their hearts to the possibility to love was inspiring. When I first read the synopsis for this one I thought I knew what I would find, but I have admit this one surprised me a bit, it words were so touching and emotional… and of course uber sexy too! Highly recommend this one, it’s words will take you on a thoroughly satisfying journey!
3.75 stars—SEDUCING THE BILLIONAIRE is the first instalment in J. M. Stewart’s contemporary, adult THE BLUE ROOM erotic, romance series focusing on the exclusive $ex club The Blue Room. This is billionaire, club co-owner Hunter Thane, and tech writer Jenna Mancini’s story line.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Jenna and Hunter) SEDUCING THE BILLIONAIRE follows the building but struggling relationship between billionaire, club co-owner Hunter Thane, and tech writer Jenna Mancini. Jenna Mancini struggles with issues of low self-esteem reinforced by the emotional abusive actions of her latest ex. With an invitation to the exclusive Blue Room $ex club, Jenna finds herself attracted to a man whose demons continue to control his life. Enter the Blue Room co-owner and billionaire Hunter Thane. What ensues is the building but anguished filled relationship between Hunter and Jenna, and the potential fall-out as Hunter is unable to let go of the memories; and Jenna’s past returns forcing our heroine to question her relationship with Hunter Thane.
Jenna Mancini is a woman with curves but her ex boyfriend destroyed any semblance of self-esteem with his constant belittling of her size. Meeting Hunter Thane finds our heroine struggling with issues of trust, issues that are reinforced with Hunter’s actions and inability to move beyond the past. Hunter Thane doesn’t do relationships in the face the disastrous fall-out of what was and what could have been. Struggling to move beyond the heart break and pain, including his fear of being touched, Hunter battles his fear as he slowly finds himself falling for our story line heroine.
The relationship between Jenna and Hunter begins as an arrangement; a ‘sex’ only arrangement that turns into something more as Hunter learns to let go, moving forward towards a happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Jenna’s best friend Selene, as well as Hunter’s business partners: Jake, Liam and Max. There may or may not be a relationship developing between Jake and Selene.
SEDUCING THE BILLIONAIRE is a story of betrayal, heart break, falling in love and letting go of the past. The premise is engaging; the romance is steamy but I struggled to feel the palpable sexual attraction perhaps due in part to the continuous reminders of Jenna and Hunter’s damaged self-esteem and heavy hearts ; the characters are broken but recovering.
Jenna and Hunter meet in a sex club. Yea, that caught my attention when I read the blurb. Both have personal baggage relating to their bodies, which helps them to connect and recognise each others’ fears.
Hunter is not your usual billionaire romance hero, in that he isn’t the arrogant, self-centered type. I found him very likable especially when he set out to dispel the negative notions she had about her body owing to her ex-boyfriend. As their mutual attraction and emotions grow, they both learn to trust and build each other up. In the end, they find happiness they hadn’t expected.
I enjoyed the romance between Jenna and Hunter. Despite the fact that the story starts out in a sex club, the story is more sensual than erotic.
I also liked the secondary characters, especially Hunter’s friends whom I gather are all going to be heroes of their own stories in this series.
This was a good one to kick off a new series. Both characters pulled me into the story. They both bring a ton of emotions out of me. I was sad and angry for what both endured, but also happy because they found something beautiful in each other to heal. Hunter he instantly grabs at your heart. He’s reserved for reason, but Jenna brings out the desires he has kept locked up. Jenna and Hunter have a ton of chemistry that burns up the pages. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
The definition of love is not to tear down but to build up. Seducing the Billionaire takes a new approach to an empowering message. Jenna and Hunter break your heart before they inspire your soul. Stewart tempts with an alluring tale of heartache, courage and healing. Learning to be whole has never been so sensuously, soulful and heartachingly, uplifting. Love has a way of surprising and Hunter and Jenna make falling a beautiful surprise.
