Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrews’s chance to reclaim his title as light heavyweight champ is shattered when he’s injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he’s healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional’s care–Reid’s best friend’s little sister, all grown up. Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She’d do … anything to catch the eye of a doctor she’s crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of his career, Lucie jumps at the chance. Soon Reid finds himself in the fight of his life…winning Lucie’s heart before she gives it to someone else.

When injured MMA fighter, Reid Andrews, shows up at his new physical therapist’s office and it turns out to be his best friend’s little sister, Lucie Miller, he’s taken aback. How can gorgeous, grown up Lucie possibly be the little girl that used to follow him and her brother around? But Lucie is definitely all grown up. She’s an excellent physical therapist who intends on treating Reid, even if Reid isn’t too thrilled to go along with what he perceives will be the same ol’, same ol’ instructions that won’t have him healed in time for his next fight.
But when Lucie tempts Reid into a arrangement where he shows her the way to seduce another man, a fellow doctor, suddenly Reid’s not too sure he wants to show her how to please another man. Can both Reid and Lucie keep this arrangement casual? Of course not, not in romance and not in Seducing Cinderella. Will Lucie be able to bring herself to forgive Reid when he breaks her heart, but comes back and asks for another chance? Or will this tatted up bad boy have to concede that he broke her heart and leave without showing her that he’s turned into the Prince Charming she’s been looking for?
Seducing Cinderella is a steamy, fun brother’s friend romance. It’s one of my favorite tropes and Gina Maxwell has done it proud. Not much angst, just sexy, a little sweet, and the ending is perfect!
A totally adorable story. It is funny and endearing. It unfolds so naturally, it’s just like retelling a story to your girlfriends. That takes great talent from an author. The characters were lovable and you could ride all their emotional roller coasters with them effortlessly. I am very impressed with this work.
This was a good one. It was sweet and steamy and the “oh yeah this isn’t real” trope is always fun. I’ve had this sitting on my kindle for years now and so glad I finally picked it up.
Seducing Cinderella is still one of my all-time favorite books. Gina Maxwell delivers a story that drew me in from the very first words. The way she crafts this story of Lucie Miller and Reid Andrews is truly a fairytale come true.
With the extremely sexy Reid by her side, Lucie sheds her shy, wallflower persona and becomes a siren all the while falling for her ‘tutor’. And while Lucie helps Reid with his shoulder, he falls for his ‘student’ in the most erotic of ways. Their chemistry is off the charts steamy with ‘lessons’ from Reid that had me fanning myself and often.
Maxwell has updated this book with a few extras, including the heartwarming epilogue I have been waiting for! Together with the right amount of heat and mutual desire for each other, Reid and Lucie remain a favorite couple all these years later. The story gets going quickly and I was able to read it once more, in one sitting. It’s why I fell hard for Maxwell’s words all those years ago and why she remains a go-to author for me to this day.
When you’re looking for a love story that will capture your own heart and soul, look no further than Seducing Cinderella. This 5+ star book has it all and more.
I love the trope of one character helping the other to win the affections of someone else, only to fall in love with each other. This story was particularly well done. I especially loved that the heroine’s makeover was to give HER more confidence, not to impress her crush. I’ve reread this one a few times!
I loved this book. It had everything you could want in a love story.
Enjoyed this book. Read it in an Afternoon. Lots of laughs!
A well-written story with great characters who help each other overcome their issues, and end up falling for each other.
One of my favorite reads
I really enjoyed this book. It definitely seduced me. The characters were wonderful and had all the feels. It had you hot and mushy, teary and heartbroken and the happily ever after, what more could you want. Loved it.
This was my first MMA read and my first from Gina Maxwell. Reid Andrews is still my first book boyfriend.
Reid is injured and needs physical therapy to reclaim his title. When he meets his new therapist, he comes eye to eye with his best friend’s little sister…all grown up. She agrees to help him if he agrees to give her lessons on how to land the doctor she’s had her eye on. This book will make you laugh, cry and swoon.
My college roommate recently introduced me to Gina L. Maxwell’s books, and I’m glad she did. Our library system only had Seducing Cinderella, but after reading it, I ordered all the rest that are available in Ingram. So now, even more people will have the enjoyment of reading her. If you’ve never had that pleasure, after you read this review, make sure to purchase some of her books.
This is a very steamy romance. And you know what made it even hotter for me than the sex scenes? Even though, at first, Reid thought of Lucie as his friend’s little sister, when she wanted to be with him, there was no big brother rushing in to save Lucie’s virtue. She is an adult, and Maxwell wrote her as one.
Another thing that is great, is even though this was the first published book for Maxwell, it doesn’t read like it. It is very well edited, the story flows perfectly, and her character development is outstanding.
And I realized the ebook came out before the paperback version I read, so it was in 2012. It came out just a couple of months after 50 Shades of Grey. I really wish, Seducing Cinderella, would have became a national phenomenon instead. There is much more depth to this book. And to me, Lucie is a much more likeable character. As well as the type of person I would like to see more woman be; strong, independent, and not continually questioning her sexuality.
I am looking forward to reading the second book in the Fighting for Love series, Rules of Entanglement. A rule abiding D.A., a wedding that needs to be planned, and a sexy MMA fighter, sounds like a hot Friday night read to me!
Best book boyfriend.
I’ve been doing a group re read of this book and boy did I have a much better experience this go around! I had read this book before but didn’t have the same experience that I’m having now. I now see what the hype was about this book. Sorry it took me this long Gina! I’ve read other books by Gina Maxwell but this one right here took me to the MAX!!!! It started off as your typical “hot guy” helps the “shy girl” land the “guy of her dreams” but it became so much more. Way more. Walls are torn down, insecurities are shown, Reid and Lucie confide things in each other that they’ve never told anyone else. They slowly start to fall in love and all was right in the world until…..it happens. Once it happens I was so done with Reid. One thing you can’t do is take back words and in my opinion what he said to Lucie was a real low blow. Reid didn’t redeem himself enough for me and I ended up disliking him at the end of the story. I also purchased audio narration and the narrator did a good job with bringing the story to life.
i liked the book
