Montgomery Ink: Boulder Book 4The Montgomery Ink: Boulder series concludes with a fake relationship where the heat and emotional connection are anything but false. The moment Madison McClard’s parents tell her that her ex is getting married, there’s no getting out of their latest scheme. One moment she’s trying to get out of their clutches. The next, they’re telling her exactly who she’ll marry to … who she’ll marry to save the family name. The one thing her parents don’t count on, however: Aaron Montgomery.
Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to lie. Still, as soon as he overheard Madison’s dilemma, the words fell out of his mouth. Now, he’s fake engaged to a woman he barely knows, who also happens to be his new brother-in-law’s cousin.
As the deception mounts, so does the attraction. They told themselves it was only a ruse, but as feelings ramp and dangers surge, this Montgomery may have just met his match.
He simply has to fight to keep her.

Seduced in Ink is the next in the Montgomery Ink Boulder series, and what a funny adventure this one is. This book can be read as a standalone, but it’s always best to read a series in order in my personally opinion. Ms. Carrie Ann Ryan has gifted us with a lovely story of a woman learning herself and seeing her family in a different light. A story that is sure to make you scream in anger and laugh at the funny in the next moment.
In this grand adventure we meet Madison, a sassy business owner of a sinful bakery and alpha hottie; Aaron, the famous artist. Madison is under the thumb of her horrid parents, who now want to marry her off to a total stranger. Now be warned now readers, Madison’s parents are going to make you want to spit, but grin and bare it, the story must go on. Aaron is a family friend and in the attempt to help Madison out from the viper tongue of her Mother, comes up with the grand plan to tell everyone that they are engaged.
That’s right, a fake engagement.
Over the course of the book, Madison and Aaron navigate the waters of a fake relation that feels anything but fake. From sassy exchanges with Madison’s horrible parents, a weird man that her Mother keeps trying to “sell” her to that give her the creeps and hot nights that fuel hot dreams, Madison and Aaron wormed their way right into my favorite couples list! 4.5 stars for the lovely author.
This book starts out as all good books do, with a craving for cheese! I mean, what else can you expect from a Montgomery Ink book, but no, really, this book combines friends to lovers, which this branch of the Montgomery cult, uh, clan, does extremely well (except for Liam, but then again, he was first, and didn’t realize his younger siblings would all fall off script, little brats) and a fake engagement. Dearest Aaron, reader of romance novels, advice giver on all things romantic, has been hiding his attraction and breaking all the tenants of romance, for Madison. Madison, quiet rebel, peace keeper, and co-reader of romance novels, falls into the same trap. You can’t see what is right in front of you when it is you involved. Of course these two have fun, of course these two know each other, and of course these two fall in love. While the bad guy *snicker* was never in doubt, and the inevitable trip to the hospital was a forgone conclusion, the how, where, why, and who were changed up. The last of the Boulder Montgomery’s has their HEA, and onto Fort Collins next!
I really enjoyed Madison and Aaron’s story. This is a fake fiance, friends to lovers story that was sweet, sexy and swoony. When Madison needed the support, Aaron stepped up, but it really wasn’t a hardship as he already had his eyes on Madison. Madison needed the space, that Aaron provided, to deal with her parents. Quickly the farce became real, emotions were involved, and their friendship expanded into more. I have always enjoyed the sense of family the Montgomery’s provide for those close to the “clan”.
Seduced In Ink was an absolute perfect name for Madison and Aaron’s story. It was seduction in its entirety. Their story drew you into a world that felt like a story within a story. It held me captive to the words and the pages and had me feeling as if I was standing within reaching distance of the characters. Their personalities made a mark, their emotions could be felt and the love that ignited between these two was felt soul deep. It was passionate, frustrating, emotional, steamy and enchanting. A story that you not only read but experienced with your heart. Madison and Aaron were characters that you not only loved but connected with instantly.
Aaron Montgomery is a good guy (hot too, but that’s another thing). So when he hears his friend Madison being verbally beat up & strong armed by her mom, he can’t help but step in. And say he’s her fiancé. After the initial shock wore off, they decided to go with it, to give Madison time to stand up for herself to her mother, who doesn’t quit on trying to push someone else on her (she’s a hard pill to swallow). Soon things start heating up for real, and fake gets kinda hot. There are still hurdles, like a jerk and a mom, but they work really good together to face and conquer them. And turn a friend helping a friend into real love.
Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again! Seduced in Ink is a delightful fake fiancé romance that will leave you with a happy heart. Madison isn’t a mouse. She runs her own business and gets things done. Except when it comes to her family. When her mother springs an arranged marriage on her Aaron Montgomery helps her out of a jamb by saying that Madison had already accepted his proposal. Then the fun begins. This story is filled with love, laughter and female empowerment.
I really loved this couple and their story but when you add the cheese obsession and her cupcakes into this, it is even better. Seriously though, this was a great story. I liked their friendship and when her mother went off about Madison and brought Guy into the situation, here comes Aaron to save the day. I did appreciate that when Aaron made his announcement that Lincoln went right along with it, like it was known when in actuality it wasn’t but that’s what family does, and I love the Montgomery family and their friends who’ve become family, who are supportive no matter what. I must say the line about her parents being ‘passively-aggressively evil’, spot on, especially her mother. Guy was crazy and not in a good way. I knew when they were invited to the lodge, it was not going to be a good thing and it was not. However, in a way it was a turning point for Madison and her family and hopefully they can keep up the new attitude and outlook on life, we will see. One of my favorite lines in this story is, ‘Said the serpent to eve’. Great story and the ending was spot on.
I absolutely loved Aaron and Madison’s story. This is a friends to lovers/fake engagement story. Aaron has had a thing for Madison for a while that he kept quiet and Madison while think she’s not good enough for Aaron has hid her crush as well. As they both stumble through this fake engagement you go through all the feels while cheering for these two to get their HEA. Their chemistry is hot AF. Once again Carrie Ann shows you the real struggles some families go through. I love how relatable these stories are. I am always in need of more of the Montgomery’s. I can’t wait for more stories from Carrie Ann. This is a 5star read for me.
This book was in my opinion, everything a “fake relationship/fiancé” romance should be. Madison and Aaron were complex, well crafted characters that were easy to relate to and feel for, the chemistry simmered just under the surface of every single interaction the couple shared and the deep unspoken emotions perfumed the air like lilacs on a warm spring breeze. You can expect to catch a major case of the feels as the fun and emotional story progresses. Heart, humor, poignancy, sweetness, friendship, drama, heat, and both the blessing or the curse that family can be, have starring roles in this amazing read. I loved it! This is my independent, impartial review.
Wow, I really liked this book. It is nice to see Aaron finally get his HEA. This has its ups and downs but also great times. I couldn’t put book down once started.
I loved Aaron and Madison together, they may of started out as fake engaged couple. But it didn’t last long that way because feelings began to appear. They have to go through a lot to get where they finally tell each other about their feelings.
I loved Aaron just wanted to help Madison find her way, and become the woman she wants to be.
From friends to fake engagement to something more. What a dilemma Madison finds herself in. I dived right into this amazing book. You will be hooked and I was. Guaranteed. Loved the characters and banter.
Another great Montgomery romance. Aaron and Madison are great friends and they make an even greater couple, they just have to admit how they feel. Throw in Madison’s interfering mother, a Guy who wants to marry her for his own selfish reasons, a fake engagement and a mega storm and life gets very complicated. This story has lots of feels. It is always fun to catchup on what all the Mongomery’s are up to, and of course you know there will be cheese.
I’m a sucker for a friend to lovers book and especially in the guise of an engagement. The Montgomery’s won’t stand for hurting one of their own and Madison is family even without the name attached. Now if only they can tolerate her mother long enough to address their own feelings.
I loved Aaron and Madison! This was a very enjoyable fake engagement story. I love the Montgomery family and am always excited to read another story in the series. Aaron and Madison have great chemistry together and this book has all of the feels.
We meet Madison McClard, everyone’s favorite cupcake maker and Lincoln’s cousin, and her overbearing mother. Aaron Montgomery is too kind for his own good and cannot stand for anyone to belittle good hearted Madison anymore and becomes her fake fiancée.
Aaron and Madison are trying to pull off the ruse of their “engagement” to Madison’s family, all the while letting the Montgomery clan in on the plan and trying to navigate this new path themselves.
When a guy named Guy steps into the fold trying to shoulder himself into Madison’s life in an arranged marriage, Aaron and Madison are trying to stay friends first, but have a difficult time when natural attraction takes front and center.
Aaron and Madison maybe one of my favorite Montgomery couples and this was a great read!
4.5/5 stars
An angsty story of courage and conviction…
This fake engagement had to be subliminal suggestion, because these two belong together. We get hints that they have spent time together as friends for a while and were attracted to each other but felt they couldn’t date because of their close relations. In this character driven love story Aaron and Madison’s POVs take us through their hopes, fears, and some HOT sexy feelings. Madison has been going through some bad times with her family but she finds out if you stand up for yourself and stick with it you just might get what you want most in life. A sweet understanding man for a partner and an HEA to live for.
I really enjoyed getting to know Aaron. We had glimpses of him in the other stories and in Moments in Ink, however this gave us a up close view. He was trying to rescue Madison without letting on that he had more feelings than friends. Madison would not let herself hope that Aaron liked her more than to help her out of a no win situation. They had so much chemistry that it flew off the page. Her big “brother ” Lincoln is watching to make sure Madison doesn’t get hurt however I think the men know Aaron wants more. Yo9u have to love this family as they rally around this couple and how they also help the “fake” relationship along. This is a great conclusion to the Boulder clan of the Montgomery’s.
What a great conclusion to the Boulder Montgomerys. We got to see old friends, meet some new ones and had a wonderful time watching Aaron and Madison find their way to each other. I loved how Aaron was teased about reading romance novels and how his cousins were always there for him. He had always liked Madison, but had never acted on it. When he stepped in to protect her from her mother, things just kept going. Excellent read. Loved it
I got this book from the author for an honest review
