Montgomery Ink: Boulder Book 4The Montgomery Ink: Boulder series concludes with a fake relationship where the heat and emotional connection are anything but false. The moment Madison McClard’s parents tell her that her ex is getting married, there’s no getting out of their latest scheme. One moment she’s trying to get out of their clutches. The next, they’re telling her exactly who she’ll marry to … who she’ll marry to save the family name. The one thing her parents don’t count on, however: Aaron Montgomery.
Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to lie. Still, as soon as he overheard Madison’s dilemma, the words fell out of his mouth. Now, he’s fake engaged to a woman he barely knows, who also happens to be his new brother-in-law’s cousin.
As the deception mounts, so does the attraction. They told themselves it was only a ruse, but as feelings ramp and dangers surge, this Montgomery may have just met his match.
He simply has to fight to keep her.

The Montgomerys of Boulder now all have their HEAs thanks to Seduced In Ink. Aaron Montgomery starts stealing glances at someone he should not be interested in, his brother-in-law’s cousin. Madison is already considered part of the Montgomery family, there is no good that can come from this. When she is being berated by her parents about not measuring up, as they try to force an arranged marriage on her, Aaron rides into the rescue and proclaims himself her fiancé.
Aaron’s family understands about a fake engagement, but still warn him about hurting Madison. Madison’s parents see the charade as what it is and redouble their efforts to marry her off to an “appropriate” match.
Carrie Ann Ryan has such a wonderful way with words as she crafts her characters. I want to be a Montgomery!!
You can never go wrong with a fake engagement story but especially this one! It was so easy to relate to the struggles and insecurities that Madison has. This made it easy to fall in love with how strong she is! Aaron lives up to the legacy of all The Montgomery’s we’ve met so far! He is so adorable and loving. He helps both him and Madison gore as people that it was so fun to read! You won’t ever regret reading this book.
This was an amazing read I loved Aaron and Madison, this was a funny take on sometimes love comes unexpectedly. I think the fact that Ms. Ryan can still give us an amazing and unexpected story in this family series is astounding. You would think after so many stories about this family she wouldn’t have anything else to write about but she keeps giving us amazing stories and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.
To help get Madison’s family off her back Aaron blurts out that they are engaged. Getting her parents to believe it is another story, one with another man in the wings who they want her to marry. Both characters had points where I wanted to smack them LOL, but I loved their journey from semi-friends to lovers. Aaron was so sweet and loved how he stepped in for Madison the way he did. This is the last book for the Boulder park of Montgomery Ink. It can be read as a stand alone. I have read most of the original Montgomery Ink books, but this is the first of any of the spinoffs I have read. It was very easy for me o follow along with this big family even with the missing books.
Seduced in ink was a fantastic read! I really enjoyed Lincoln and Madison’s story! The book had great storytelling elements, character development and a happily ever after to die for! I laughed and cried a little with this book. Crying was due to some laughter. I really enjoyed my time back in the Montgomery world. This review was voluntary and done for an ARC.
I have to confess I am way behind on this series, I love the Montgomery family and I really need to catch up.
This book opens with Madison attending a gallery showing for here cousin Lincoln. He is in a relationship with Ethan Montgomery and Holland Yeaton, one that not everyone, including Madison’s parents approved of. More than that Madison takes a lot of crap from her mother in an effort to be what her mother expects her to be.
Aaron Montgomery is just one of Madison’s Montgomery friends, and he overhears a conversation that infuriates him. Without really thinking about it he steps in and this story takes off.
The thing is Aaron has always liked Madison but was afraid to take it further than friendship. Madison on the other hand has a successful coffee shop ‘Sin in a Cup’ where she serves coffee and sinfully delicious cupcakes. However around her mother her entire personality changes from friendly and outgoing to subdued and mostly obedient.
Aaron’s goal is to strengthen Madison’s resolve to take a stand then they could both just walk away friends.
Like all impetuous plans this one has more than a couple flaws. Which of course is what makes this book, fun, flirty and down right steamy.
A thoroughly enjoyable read with sizzling heat, laughter, tears and so much more!
Madison is a bakery owner and has a difficult relationship with her parents. Aaron is her friend that helps her by telling her parents they are engaged. They find themselves in a friend’s with benefits relationship that turns into something more!!! They both have to fight for their love!! This is a great fake engagement story!!!
First Impression? Ok, so we have another book where friends have to pretend to be getting married, to prevent some horrible thing from happening. Just like every other friends to lovers book out there, right? Nope. I should have known better! This author is one of my go to authors for a reason. She takes an over done trope, and makes it into a fantastic story that completely takes me by surprise! I’ve gotta say, I’m always glad I picked up and read one of her books. And this one is no exception!
Madison is a confusing character. At times, she is so strong, such an amazingly brave woman, but at others, she is timid and afraid. She has a horrific home life, but also such sweet memories of a better time. And Aaron! He is absolutely loyal, giving, and perfect for Madison! Together, the gave us a story that was both sweet, and funny! Add in a whole lotta drama, and a little bit of danger, and this author has another winner on her hands! I couldn’t help but laugh at times, and feel sad at others. There was also a healthy bit of “what the heck?!?” and just a dash of “Oh no, she didn’t!!!” Let’s just say, my emotions and thought ran the gamut reading this book, and I’ve fallen in love with yet another set of Montgomerys!
The final book in the Montgomery Ink: Boulder gives us HEA for Aaron (finally) & Madison..Yay!
It was a hard fought battle for Madison & her parents when Aaron steps up as her fake fiance.
Loved what came of Guy…what a guy.. 🙂
We also get a wee bit of introduction to the Ft. Collins cousins – can’t wait to see what fun they bring!
Aaron is so grown into a Montgomery! And Madison the quiet one has a lot to give. Aaron and Madison have both been on the sidelines of previous Montgomery stories. What a spin on Madison’s family life. I felt horrible for her. Love shouldn’t hurt like that. I was thrilled with Aaron and his stepping up to be there for Madison. The trials and time that these two really went through proved that they were meant to be together. It was a great and intense story. It did introduce future matches and stories. While this is a Montgomery story, you don’t need to have to read previous stories to enjoy.
I love that Aaron Montgomery finally gets his story!! He is the last single Montgomery brother, the consummate best friend. Madison has been adopted into the Montgomery clan because her cousin Lincoln is in a triad with Ethan Montgomery. Madison loves her bake shop and her life, as long as her parents stay away. That had been working, until they found out her ex was getting married and decided that they need to marry her off to save their family name. Aaron overhears her mother berating her and telling her about her arranged marriage when he pipes up with the news of their engagement! They have been friends, but now they must pretend to be in love. It should be a simple thing to do, until lines start getting crossed and the feelings become real. Neither will admit their true feelings until Aaron almost loses Madison to an unhinged, scorned suitor. Love the drama, the story and the relationship that grows between them. It was the perfect ending to the Boulder Montgomery’s!
A wonderful fake boyfriend romance, or well, fake fiancé. I’ve really enjoyed reading Madison and Aaron’s story. It had all the emotion, character growth, and romance I’d hoped for. Madison is treated more than a little shabbily, often cruelly even, by her parents, and she has trouble standing up for herself. It’s not easy to go against your parents, and when her mother takes her cruelty and controlling behavior to the next level, Aaron intercedes and poses as Madison’s fake fiancé to help get some of the pressure of her. Lies tend to complicate matters, of course, even well-intentioned ones, and as Aaron and Madison get thrown together more, it gets more and more difficult to sort out what is real between them and what isn’t. Aaron and Madison have great chemistry and appreciate each other for who they really are. I loved them together! I also loved how playful and sensual they are and how caring. Aaron can get protective and a little jealous, which is understandable given the uncertainty about where they stand. Communication is key, as he should now, what with all the romance novels he reads. Loved that about Aaron! Madison is a strong character, if not in as obvious a way as other more outspoken characters in the series, but in her capacity for love and forgiveness. She learns to stand up for herself more, which was awesome, and I was so happy with how things eventually evolved between her and her parents. Apart from the wonderful romance and great character development, there is also some suspense and danger thrown in, upping the tension levels and emotional intensity of the story even more. Unexpected twist there, loved it. Loved this entire story.
Loved it. It is very well written. Madison has nasty parents that wants her marry a stranger so she can be settled. Aaron a great friend comes to the rescue but they both have feelings for each other. Can they admit the are love with each other or not. I really like how the other characters for the other books come into play. Oh and I am sure there will be cheese since it is a Montgomery book. Cheese is a must
‘When I read … I scream at them and tug at my hair.’
Even though the concept of the fake fiancé is a little cliché, I really enjoyed reading this story. To be fair, the basic story line was predictable but the character building and the little details made it fun to read! I would not recommend it when you are looking for a more serious story but it is great when you just want to enjoy a nice book and read.
I love how Madison loves her family no matter what, and for some reason I love the fact that she owns a bakery café And I love that Aaron is a reader, because there is something fun and recognizable about reading about a reader as a fellow reader. Don’t you just love that sentence XD I love the quote that I added in the beginning, Aaron says this at some point (I removed a part to avoid spoilers). And all I thought when he said this was: ‘What do you think I have been doing you idiot?! But better late then never I guess’.
The Montgomerys have a place in my heart and coming back to them always feels amazing! We’ve been through quite a lot of sets of cousins and honorary Montgomerys already, and I can’t wait till we visit Fort Collins!
I absolutely loved Madison and Aaron. Omg the story and way it unfolded I didn’t want it to end. I loved every page. Carrie Ann spins a story that sucks you in and is emotionally gripping. Such a great read.
Seduced in Ink is the amazing conclusion to the Montgomery Ink: Boulder series. Even though it stands perfectly fine on its own, I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t want to read the entire Montgomery Ink series from start to finish. I love the interweaving of characters throughout her stories and across the various series!
This was a great fake fiance, friends to lovers story with the perfect blend of angst, family drama, emotions, and steam. Aaron and Madison shared a connection as friends and I loved watching them explore their relationship as lovers. Excellent addition to the series!
Welp, of the Boulder bunch, I think this couple might just be my favorite! This was definitely my favorite contemporary book of Carrie Ann’s so far this year!!
I could not wait until Aaron got his own book, and holy crap did I get what I wanted!!! He was everything I thought I wanted, and soooo much more! I absolutely loved that he ended up with Madison. After reading Sated In Ink we really got to see how she got the short end of the stick when it came to family. The Montgomery’s really have a way of showing you that blood doesn’t mean much and her parents were THE PITS! But, I adored how Aaron came in to save the day! SUCH a Montgomery thing to do! Some of the reactions, especially Lincoln’s, had be cracking up!
From the beginning you could totally see the chemistry between Aaron and Madison, and in true MI fashion, they were super good at ignoring that. It’s really hard when you are friends and have feelings, especially when they are so close to everyone around you. BUT I think these two, of all of the couples, had every reason to get together. Once the “fake engagement” happened I couldn’t wait to see where Carrie Ann took us. I think that is why this one is my favorite so far, I truly had no idea what to expect, and my mind was blown. Madison is really different from the other women and I think that helped set this book apart a little more.
Another reason this book was my favorite was because of the crazy twists and turns we got. We got the perfect amount of emotions, some really crazy drama, and some super intense love. It was the perfect trifecta! You really have to read for yourself to get the true effect, I can’t give anything away, but this book was pure gold! There was funny and sexy banter, cupcake descriptions that left you drooling, scenes that left you drooling and so much more of everything else!
I loved this story! It was a fun read for me. We have gotten to see both Aaron and Madison in the previous books in the series but this one can be read as a standalone. Aaron steps in to help Madison out when he sees her parents, mother especially, being cruel and arranging a marriage she doesn’t want. Aaron says that he is her fiance so she can’t get engaged to the other man. This embarks them on a journey of spending more time together as they try and get Madison’s parents to back off and give her some breathing room so she can figure out how to stand up to her mother and stop caving in to her. I love the way that Aaron and Madison build their relationship. They both start feeling more for the other one quickly and while they go through some denial to themselves they pretty soon get past that and just try and enjoy where they are at when things start becoming more real. There was a few twists and turns in this story that will hold your attention but with Aaron and Madison I didn’t really need them. They were enough to hold my attention from beginning to end as they tried to work out the situation they had gotten themselves into and the feelings that they had for each other. This story was fun and entertaining for me and I really enjoyed it!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
love this series
love the montgomeries
Aaron and Madison grabbed my heart
intense emotional broken twisted heartstopping love story ready for more
This is a story about friends to lovers, forgiveness and repairing relationships that have been damaged.
dison. When her mother corners Madison and introduces her to the man she arranged for her to marry, Aaron throws a wrench in that plan when he announces that they are engaged. As they stumble through this “fake” engagement to get her mother off her back, Aaron and Madison hide their true feelings for one another fearing that when this charade of an engagement ends, one or both could get hurt. It takes a horrifying incident for feelings to finally come to the surface and for a family to come together.
