Dr. Bethany Morrison is used to being the responsible one. The serious doctor everyone relies on. She isn’t used to needing a rescue–especially from a sexy, lighthearted firefighter like Nate Prudhoe. And yet ever since she moved to Lost Harbor, Alaska, he’s been there for her. Is it any wonder she turns to him in her most embarrassing moment—when she needs a fake boyfriend? Nate’s more than … more than aware that Bethany doesn’t take him seriously. And that’s fine; relationships, a family of his own…those things aren’t for him. Not when he knows how painful the loss of a loved one can be. But when he discovers a mysterious injured runaway hiding out in the firehouse, it’s his turn to ask the lovely doctor for help.
As winter closes in, the line between fake and forever keeps disappearing. How could Nate know that every moment spent with Bethany would chip away at the shield around his heart? How could Bethany guess that Nate’s brand of laid-back fun was exactly what she needed? It may take more than a snowstorm to make them see it’s okay to want it all…and to grab it before it disappears forever.

With every one of Jennifer Bernard’s books in this series, I fall more in love with Lost Harbor, Alaska, and its people. SEDUCED BY SNOWFALL is book three in the Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Lost Harbor is charming and the characters are fun, unconventional, and oh so loveable. Bethany Morrison, Lost Harbor’s new doctor, is smart, accomplished, responsible, and has no self-confidence. When a patient sets her up with Nate Prudhoe, she goes, even though she knows he isn’t the right man for her. Nate is an EMT and a jokester, appearing to never take anything seriously. Nate knows his date with Bethany won’t lead to anything, but he can’t resist teasing her and really enjoys loosening her up.
Surprised at how much she enjoys her time with Nate, when her family comes to town, including her Dad whom she can never please, she makes up a pretend boyfriend and ropes Nate into helping sell it. But as spend more time together, including helping a mysterious runaway, Bethany thinks maybe Nate can be a Mr. Right Now, which she’s never had, while she’s looking for the one that will win her Dad’s approval. Nate’s all for getting closer, but starts wondering why a casual relationship isn’t working for him, especially since he has no plans to settle down. His carefree, joking attitude hides the little boy whose heart never recovered from the tragedy his family endured.
There isn’t a part of this novel I didn’t love. Bethany and Nate are two people with baggage that really complement each other and they are just fun to watch. Bethany’s relationship with her sister Gretel is the most honest one she has, the two love each other and each is the one person that accepts the other for who she is. They are each other’s biggest cheerleader and advocate pushing the limits of their comfort zones.
Lost Harbor is such a joy to visit. Bernard has created a town and filled it with people that you can’t wait to hang out with. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. I know I am not alone in hoping the series goes on for a long time.

Seduced by Snowfall is the story of an emotionally detached man with a heartbreaking past and the serious, new doctor in town. A moose, a sister, a runaway and a lot of snow conspire to bring Nate and Bethany together this winter.
I read an advanced copy of this book
Opposites attract!
Bethany and Nate are total opposites in their approach to life but there is some undeniable chemistry between them. I really loved how each character not only accepted but embraced their flaws and the way others could help them.
The S.G. storyline was very interesting and I feel like it’s only the beginning and I’m the only one feeling the possibility of a Detective and Fire Chief match?!
I can’t wait to go back to Lost Harbor!
I received a complimentary review copy of this book but all opinions are my own.
sweet and steamy! the perfect book for a snowy evening curled on the couch 🙂
Jennifer Bernard’s “Seduced by Snowfall” was an enjoyable read, with likeable, well-developed main characters, an engaging plot, and a beautifully described Alaskan setting. I have to admit that I have never had any interest in living in or even visiting Alaska before, but Ms. Bernard’s descriptions of the scenery and lifestyle really made Alaska come to life. It was enough to convince me that a visit to our 49th state should be on my bucket list. (That said, I think I will plan my visit for the summer; I don’t think I would handle a blizzard quite as well as the characters in this book did!)
The male lead character, firefighter and EMT Nate Prudhoe, was very easy to like. He came across as laid back, charming, and flirtatious, but he was hiding a tender heart beneath the surface. Nate cared deeply about helping others and seemed to make friends wherever he went, but swore off more serious relationships after a childhood tragedy forced him to confront the pain of losing a loved one. That vow was threatened when he met Dr. Bethany Morrison, who was dealing with childhood baggage of her own thanks to an overbearing father.
Nate and Bethany’s relationship moved quickly, but it never felt like insta-love to me. I really appreciated that they seemed to get to know each other and develop a friendship before their feelings for each other turned romantic, though the attraction between them was there all along. Bethany and Nate really seemed to bring out the best in each other, with Bethany helping Nate open up about his past and Nate helping Bethany lighten up and develop the confidence she needed to stand up to her father.
In addition to Nate and Bethany’s relationship, I really enjoyed the book’s subplot involving the mysterious runaway Nate found living in the Lost Harbor fire station. I would like to know more about her; hopefully Nate’s best friend, police detective Maya, will continue the investigation in the next book. Speaking of Maya, I enjoyed getting to know her in this story and hope to see her featured in a future story of her own. Nate’s boss, Chief Boone, was also a very interesting character, and I couldn’t help but wonder if he might be a good love interest for Maya.
At any rate, I look forward to the next book in the Lost Harbor series and can’t wait to see what happens next for these characters.

Such a great series. I love getting glimpses into Alaska life. 🙂
While the story may have started off as more of a “fake boyfriend” trope, it’s really more of an opposites attract romance and Nate and Bethany end up making it work so well for them!
True to Jennifer Bernard’s writing, this book gives you laughs, tears, and some twists you didn’t think would happen. Bethany and Nate are set up on a non date. Well it started out as one but was down graded to a conversion. Bethany is the new doctor in town who loves her job. Nate is the firefighter who was raised in Lost Harbor. They couldn’t be more opposite. She comes from a family(well just her father) who believes in status. Not Bethany though. She wants to please her father but on her own terms. She is straight laced as they come. Nate’s family was well adjusted (well mostly). He is the good time guy. Never wanting to settle down, always up for fun. They form a friendship of sorts. He can’t seem to get her off his mind and she can’t see him as anything but fun.
I really loved how their relationship evolved. They went from someone who knows each other in passing to friends with a common goal to so much more. They both have things in their pasts that weren’t dealt with and they needed to do that. I love this town that Ms Bernard has created. Her descriptions of Alaska make me want to move there as well as the people that live there.
OK, I am not sure I would describe Firefighter Nate Prudhoe and Dr. Bethany Morrisey as having a “meet cute” – maybe more of a “meet moose?” Nothing much came from that incident right away, but when the very serious doctor is fixed up on a date with carefree, light-hearted Nate, some serious chemistry starts to flurry around these two. So when Bethany “creates” a boyfriend in a phone conversation with her father, it’s no coincidence said boyfriend resembles Nate!
Again, Lost Harbor works its magic on not only its inhabitants, but us lucky readers as well! Ms. Bernard has created brilliant world that manages to be both realistic and enchanting at the same time. Both Bethany and Nate hide some very deep wounds beneath their facades; who would suspect that under her unflappable manner, Bethany is scarred from a lifetime of not being enough. And Nate, the seemingly fun playboy, is crippled by a grief that he has buried so deep in order to survive. Wow – be prepared for all the feels in this one!
Of course, our favorite Lost Harbor denizens are popping up throughout the book, in addition to some new ones (Hello Gretel – Cannot wait to explore her story!) As always, this author manages to strike the perfect balance between sorrow and joy, sweet and sexy, witty and sober, to create a story that will seduce you long before the last page and make you long for more!
I loved Nate and Bethany’s love story in Seduced by Snowfall by Jennifer Bernard, book three in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. Firefighter Nate Purdhoe is the fun guy and tends to be there for anyone who needs assistance. That includes rescuing Dr. Bethany Morrison, new to Lost Harbor, taking her to dinner, and being her fake boyfriend when she needs one. Bethany is used to be the responsible one and doesn’t take Nate seriously. When Nate discovers a mysterious injured runaway hiding out in the firehouse and needs her help, Bethany is there. As fall turns into winter and these two spend more time together their fake relationship starts to feel more real. Nate swore that he would never love another person but Bethany has gotten under his skin and into his heart. Bethany finds that Nate’s laid-back fun matched her seriousness, encouraging her that it was okay to have fun. Getting caught up in a snowstorm is the impetus they need to see that it’s okay to let down the walls and go after the love they each need.
Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, sexy and magical story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Nate and Bethany a chance at opening their heart to a forever love. I highly recommend Seduced by Snowfall to other readers and can’t wait for the next story in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Amazing!! Seduced by Snowfall had me seduced in the first few minutes! Bethany was a wonderful doctor and sister, but was a bit down on herself mostly due to her dad. Nate was the good time guy and the head EMT firefighter. When their worlds collide, to help a girl and get her dad off her back, they faked it until faking it wasn’t an option anymore. I wonderfully told story with a great ending!
Seduced by Snowfall is a book that keeps you turning pages. You want to know what is going to happen next and you root for the main characters. This book is so easy to fall in love with and you can read it even if you haven’t read the last 2 (but you will want to) Get it quick and enjoy!
Bethany is a Doctor. Nate is a Firefighter/Paramedic. He responded to her call when she locked herself of her house in only a towel. Now they are on a date at the Nightly Catch, a seafood resturant in Lost Harbor. They were set up by her former patient. They see each other, pretend to date after she told her Dad she was dating someone. They start having sex, they help each other when Nate finds a girl sleeping/showering at the fire house. They have a fight while driving to help a patient that Bethany’s sister Gretel was helping. She’s pregnant with 3 kids, and Gretel helps her out. They stop talking and seeing each other, but then Nate tracks her down helping the girl they found, and they admit they love each other after he rescues her.
Next up is Married by Moonlight in the Spring of 2020.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Seduced by Snowfall is the third book in Jennifer Bernard’s Lost Harbor series. Bethany is a doctor who discovers a job half way around the world from her parents. She meets Nate Prudhoe after being locked out of her house. They decide to go on a ‘date’ but agree that they’re better off friends.
When Bethany’s sister arrives on the scene, she is closely followed by their controlling father and stepmother. What was once friendship turns into a fake boyfriend. Ms. Bernard has a way to weave her stories. I absolutely loved Bethany and Nate’s story. This is a standalone book but I suggest reading the other books in the series because they are fabulous reads. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I received an advance copy of Seduced by Snowfall which I chose to read and review.
Seduced by Snowfall was another great addition to the Lost Harbor, Alaska series! I have read all of the books in the series and I was so glad that Nate, Lost Harbor’s fun and flirty EMT finally got a story and Bethany was a perfect match for him. Bethany may appear like an uptight doctor but her patient Mrs. Bellini knew that Nate has been burying his pain beneath his happy go lucky exterior and Bethany’s caring nature is just what he needs even if he doesn’t want to acknowledge it. Seduced by Snowfall was full of witty banter, engaging supporting characters and the heartfelt message that I love about this series. The Alaskan settings and wildlife really add a unique dimension to this contemporary romance that makes me want to jump on a plane and find this fictional town so that I can see it for myself! It was told from dual POV and it has heat, heart and happiness!
I love pretend relationship romances and give me one from Jennifer Bernard and I am THERE for it!
Fake relationships are my most favorite book troupe and this new addition to the Lost Harbor series is amazing!
Bethany moved to Lost Harbor to start over. She wants a nice, stable guy to get into a serious relationship with. So that means she is not interested in the flirty fireman who makes her blood boil and her heart ache. Nate has always known he would never get into a serious relationship but that doesn’t mean he can’t pretend to he in one when the gorgeous new doctor needs help. Fake starts to feel all to real as they spend more time together!
I loved both Nate and Bethany! I stayed up very late because I could not put it down! I can’t wait to read more from this series!!
I loved this book, but I’m not gonna lie…I really wanted to slap a Bethany through half of it! She’s so busy thinking she knows what she wants in a man that she almost misses what she NEEDS in a man. And that man is Nate Prudhoe. She thought his jokes and lighthearted personality made him somehow less serious about life. But she soon learns that the jokes cover something far more serious.
Nate was simply awesome and very honest about the way he lived his life. Even more than his relationship with Bethany, I loved his interaction with SG! This told me everything I needed to know about the heart of Nate.
Gretel was a nice bit of fluff, and I bet she’s going to meet her match in a future book. I’d really love to see stories for Maya and Chief Boone, too, because although Seduced by Snowfall is Bethany and Nate’s love story, Jennifer Bernard has created such wonderful secondary characters that you can’t help but want to learn more about them, too.
While Seduced by Snowfall is book three in the Lost Harbor series, it can be read on its own. I loved this one the most…so far! I can’t wait to see what Bernard is cooking up for us next!
I laughed my way through this one! Nate is so wonderful, and Bethany is perfect for him. Add in Gretel, Bethany’s sister, and the dialogue in this book was hilarious.
Not all of the story was funny, though. Bethany has an obnoxious father who has to be dealt with. Nate has an old trauma to face. There is also a teenager who needs help. Those issues add dimension to the characters and move the story along at a realistic pace.
I have enjoyed each story in this series, but I think this one is going to be my favorite. I really connected with Nate and Bethany, and I hope we get to see more of them as we get more stories.
This was such a welcomed escape from real life. We are introduced to Bethany and Nate on a date, non-date which was the perfect way to see both of the character’s personalities. I immediately loved these two together–the very serious, always striving Bethany and the witty, laid-back Nate. Throw in a moose, a goofy sister, a demanding father, a misguided crush, a Spruce Grouse, a broken heart and, of course, snowfall and you have the sweetest HEA ride there could possibly be–enjoy!
Absolutely loved it! This series makes me want to go to Alaska just to witness all that snow. It seems so magical! I love these characters. Bethany, the forever responsible doctor and Nate, the fun, easy going, casual EMT have a shaky beginning but, when Bethany gets tripped up on a lie she tells her dad and stepmother, Nate is right there covering her back and just rolling with the situation. This forges their path in a totally different direction and they ignite into passion. Their chemistry sizzles even in a snowstorm. They both have some issues that pose as walls in their lives and Bethany and Nate must figure out what they truly want out of life so, that leads to an interesting relationship journey.
Gretel, Bethany’s sister is a whirlwind that brings a lightness Bethany’s serious life and their mutual sister worship is precious. The mysteriousness of S.G., the seemingly orphaned/runaway is an interesting twist to the dynamic between Bethany and Nate. The way that they both try to do right by S.G. goes above and beyond what a lot of people would do. Their care, tenderness and respect for the young girl speaks volumes about their characters.
I found this story to be bittersweet for many reasons as well as, charming, inspiring and a completely perfect romance. I continue to highly recommend this series.
