A fun, humorous romantic suspense from USA Today bestselling author, Megan Matthews! When I moved to Pelican Bay to set up a new security company as a fugitive recovery specialist, I didn’t expect to find my next-door neighbor trying to break into her aunt’s house. I also didn’t expect her to have random henchmen harassing her for diamonds she insists she doesn’t have. Tabitha Thompson is running … insists she doesn’t have.
Tabitha Thompson is running from an abusive ex-boyfriend, and I desperately want to help. As a former Navy SEAL, I have the skills necessary to deal with almost any idiot willing to give his girlfriend a black eye. The trouble is my desire to protect her goes way beyond casual. But Tabitha pulls back when I show her I’m interested. Is it just my bad luck with women, or did her ex’s abuse cause her to distrust all men?
Either way, when Tabitha’s lies, drama, and ex-boyfriend catch up with her, it may not be something I can handle on my own. I just hope if things turn violent, we both come out alive.

Loved this book! My first book by Megan Matthews and am searching now for my next. Can’t wait…
Little mystery and some action. Liked the new friends Tabitha found, really realistic for a small town. Easy and fun to read.
Even though Tabitha could have made better choices – she was not some dumb character you hate – I really liked her. Great story
Hard to reaf
My great aunt Girtie passed away and left me her house in Pelican Bay, Maine. I drove nearly 2000 miles from Westford, Oklahoma, found the house, but the key the lawyer left me doesn’t work on either door, while I’m trying to open a side window to crawl into the house someone calls out “Freeze” out of the darkness behind me. This is the VERY BASIC beginning to a GREAT story…I loved this….Suspenseful romantic mystery thriller that I could not put down. I was given this and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is an author with a poor vocabulary and her use use of the English language is limited. The plot is weak and the sex scenes are trashy. I do not recommend this book.
Poorly written. I felt as if the author was extremely young, and still in high school. I would not recommend this book.
first time I actually felt a book was boring and repetitive
This is an amazing story. It’s a perfect blend of humor, suspense, romance, action. It’s well written and I like its fabulous character interaction and banter. I loved the quirky secondary characters and the small town setting. It had me from the first page, and made me feel like I was there. I received this book as a gift and I really enjoyed reading it. This is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more of her work. I voluntarily give this review.
