“I’ll break you down. It may take time, but I will.”
“And if I don’t break?”
“You will.”
Taken from work one night, Thalia is thrust into the violent, controlling world of a man she thought had been the security guard for her building, but she quickly learns that this was only a cover to get to her, to take her. As her old life is erased, the guard pushes Thalia to recognize the darker sides … recognize the darker sides of herself, while Thalia endeavors to hold on to who she is.
Trapped alone with her abductor, can Thalia fight to retain her self, or will his small glimpses of kindness cause her to finally submit to him?
‘Security Binds Her’ is a brutal journey that leaves readers breathless and waiting to turn the page to find out if Thalia will break, or be lost forever to the darkness around her.
**WARNING: This book contains graphic punishments, disturbing situations, scenes of dubious consent, and very strong language. Intended for mature audiences.

Read this book in one sitting, I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters were well written. I’m ready to delve straight into the rest of the series.
Be warned that there is a rape trigger. However from my perspective, saying no whilst simultaneously grinding on his hand or crotch negates that. The victim was questioning her own actions and obviously was sexually frustrated or has a high sex drive.
It’s late, I’m tired and all I want to do is go home and relax, however…Thalia finds herself abducted. Her life is about to change forever, she is going to be forced into a world of domination. Thalia is very responsive, maybe this is what her life has been lacking all these years? Follow her journey into the darkness.
Well, I gave in and started the Thalia series.
I am happy I finally got to read this dark, dirty and very
thrilling story of abduction, restraint and training for her
position as an owned slave. The situations Thalia finds
herself in and her many reactions to her treatment are at
times frightening and other times oddly satisfying. The
unknown kept me reading so I could either cheer for her
or yell at her handler for causing Thalia such fear and pain.
I am now looking forward to reading the next part of the
life of Thalia and all the changes I expect to see.
This is book one of Thalia’s story. Thalia is going about her everyday life when she is targeted & captured by a man she refers to as “the guard” or Master for most of the story. We follow Thalia through her training, which includes torture & noncon/dubcon scenes. This is dark territory; you can feel Thalia’s anger, despair, fear, and pain. There are distorted BDSM elements but nothing safe, sane, or consensual here. It’s a bleak story of a woman painfully struggling for her life while her powerful, inconsistent captor has his own battles. This was a difficult story for me to read. The author has been both descriptive and graphic, not shying away from or glossing over events. I felt immersed in Thalia’s thoughts and feelings. I heaved a sigh of relief at the ending, and am ready to move on to the next book, Striking a Balance.
Wow ok I know this one come out awhile ago but my first read I had from Thalia series was Breaking Beth. And let me just say that for me reading that story was tough. And Thalia was not as I was expected to be it was much better then what I imagine but for some reason I’m hoping that Marcus finds his one that it will be for him. But since this is my first read of the series I don’t know what will happen next so I will continue to read and see what happens to Thalia and all the characters involved.
Security Binds Her is a dark read by Jennifer Bene. Ms. Bene has delivered a book that is well-written. This book is horrifying, but at the same time, like a train crash, you can’t look away. I had to keep reading. Thalia was kidnapped leaving work one night. Her kidnapper wants to train her to the BDSM lifestyle because she will be auctioned off. Basically, it’s a story of human trafficking. There’s plenty of drama, suspense and lots of sex in this book. There is also rape and torture in this story, so it’s not for everyone. This isn’t what I was expecting, and I found it disturbing. While I can’t rate this book at 5 stars, I also can’t rate it at 1 or 2 just because of my personal preference. Security Binds Her is book 1 of the Thalia Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger. Thalia’s story does continue in other books though, so it’s not her whole story.
Holy Wow! This is book one of the Thalia series and can be read as stand-alone with HFN, but boy does it draw you in and makes you want to continue the series. I was surprised by her choice at the auction, and look forward to reading the next book. Thalia having little family and no close friends is kidnapped and “trained” to be a slave. She only knows her captor as the security guard at her temp job’s office building. She finds him handsome and she responds to his training, but she doesn’t understand his punishments. Her guard has a job to do that doesn’t include getting attached and he is constantly watched on camera by his partner and potential buyers. Will he be able to let her go when her training is over and she is to be auctioned. This book is intense and keeps you glued, I could not put it down once I started reading until I had completed it.
This book was all kinds of dark and disturbing and I absolutely loved it. Thalia happens to works late and is kidnapped by the security guard at her job . What happens to her is to get her prepared to be sold at auction. So good! You will not be to stop reading.
Wow what amazing hot thriller full of steamy dark twisted sex that will have you wanting more. This story had amazing writing style that you feel like you are right there in the story.
Warning, this is a twisted story. Wonderfully written, it was my intro to Jennifer Bene & I’ve been a big fan ever since. The characters are so well written, I found myself personally involved & having visceral responses to the scenes. Not for the light of heart but totally worth the discomfort that occurred on occasion. Highly recommended!
There are 4 books in the series and I’ve read 3. It is a very dark compelling story of a woman who is abducted and trained by very brutal means and to be sold as a sexual slave. It is very disturbing to read but this actually happens every day somewhere in the world without the happy ending that is in this book. This was an incredible thought provoking story to read.
This is the first book I have read by and reviewed for Jennifer Bene, and it has hooked me bad. It is an intense, graphic, disturbing, riveting, and incredulously erotic roller coaster ride full of pleasure, pain and confusion.
Right from the first sentence in the prologue I was pulled into the terror, humiliation and turmoil endured by Thalia. This young woman has been stalked, trapped, punished and satisfied. She is being harshly trained to be a submissive, a slave, whatever her eventual master desires. She is allowed very few choices, and the wrong ones entail severe punishments. Although Thalia yearns for escape, her body somehow, surprisingly, responds sexually to her captor. It is a tense, exciting, terrifying voyage into strict BDSM training that kept me on the edge of my seat right up to the very end. We are led into the dark side of BDSM, but WOW what a journey it is!!!
Although this is the first of a four part series, Ms. Bene is able to weave our emotions into a more than satisfying conclusion. This can be read as a standalone, but OMG why would you want to. I have already purchased the complete set.
The first time I tried to read this it proved too dark and non-consensual for me. It was a DNF and whilst I appreciated the quality of writing the content proved too much. However since then I’ve been corrupted by the writings of Addison Cain and Cari Silverwood, who both write IMO excellent dub/non-con stories but in the Sci-Fi/fantasy genre. For some reason I find it easier to accept non-con in a ‘not-reality’ setting.
Since this series was repeatedly mentioned and recommended I entered a competition on FB and won an e-book copy of this story. This time, knowing about the story AND being fully prepared for the non-con elements, I not only read all the book but I enjoyed it. This is NOT and never will be an easy read. It has some very difficult and challenging scenes, but what makes the difference is Thalia’s strength through out.
You can’t help but like Thalia and hope she gets a HEA of some sort. Marcus/The Guard is a complex character, obviously twisted and evil (or mentally unbalanced) to think it is ok to snatch women off the street and force them to be sex slaves. However he shows real moments of tenderness and care for Thalia too. You would need to have lived under a rock, or not have Facebook, to not know the huge twist at the end of this book. Just in case you’ve missed it I won’t spoil things but I will say that I loved this unusual approach to resolving the story.
I read this in two sittings, and that was only because I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open last night to finish it then. Whilst in some ways you could read this as a stand alone, the story does continue in other books and once I’ve finished writing this review I will be purchasing them.
I don’t know why I’m surprised that I loved this book. This is the second book of Jennifer’s that I’ve read. The first, being Destruction. That book rocked my world. So naturally, I was worried that because I had such high standards of the last book, this would just come up short.
I. Was. Wrong.
And I’m a very petty person. I don’t like admitting that I’m wrong. Ever.
But I suppose for Jennifer, I’ll bite the bullet.
First of all, I loved that Jennifer immediately jumped right in to the book. When I start a new book it’s so hard for me to get into it right away because of usually how slow the beginning is. However Jennifer played by her own rules and started this sh** from the get go. The prologue was really what got me hooked.
“. . . did you already forget the lessons I gave you last night little wh***?”
“I am not a wh***!” Thalia screamed and slapped him. The crack of her palm connecting with his cheek seemed to echo in the room.
She immediately regretted it. “
I’ll admit, I have a dark soul. So, of course I loved it. I was like YES PLAY TIME.
I won’t reiterate the blurb, because if you wanted that you could just go back and read it.
Basically, Thalia is kidnapped from work and thrust into a world that she could never in her wildest dreams, have imagined. She is confused by her body’s response to this world, although she is terrified beyond belief, her body is excited. Her master shows her pleasure and pain.
Although Thalia has learned pleasure and pain, and her body’s response to it, her mind will not break. She doesn’t want to be held captive and tries to escape.
That proves to be a damning choice that comes with harsh consequences.
You’ll have to just read to find out what it is 😉
When Thalia’s master breaks her “trust”, she decides she doesn’t want him as a master anymore.
And that’s when the real fun begins.
The book ended with me wanting more feeling like I could never get enough.
This book was filled with hot sex, a filthy talking Master, and so much angst I thought I would need a sedative.
5 stars
First book in this series and it is pretty dark. I like Thalia as a characters and her struggles. Trying to deal with the betrayal of her body and her feelings of submission. I actually felt a bit sorry for the Guard too, because he wasn’t free to be himself either. Looking forward to reading the next part.
Outstanding book! I couldn’t put it down! It kept me interested from the very first page! Never slowed down! I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves dark erotic books. Recommend for adults only! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series to see what happens next. It does end with a soft cliffhanger but it also could be read by itself , but if you are like me , I need to see what the next adventure holds for Thalia!
