After an unstable childhood, Zoey Knight landed in Juneau, Alaska, during high school, and has never left. Now in her early thirties, she lives a quiet life that includes part-time caretaker for a beloved father figure. Despite the stability, she occasionally wishes for more adventure. She gets more than she bargained for when a plane she’s in goes down in a remote stretch of wilderness—and the … the only other passenger is a man she’s crushed on for years.
Life as a SEAL doesn’t allow for much spare time, but Mark “Bubba” Wright still regrets not trying harder to visit his pop. Now it’s too late, and the guilt is heavy when he heads to Alaska for the reading of his father’s will. The only bright spot is finding a girl he knew in high school on the same tiny plane. The same woman, it turns out, who’s been taking care of his pop…a girl he crushed on in high school.
Struggling to survive in the Alaska back country isn’t the kind of second chance either envisioned, but relying on each other makes Zoey and Bubba’s rekindled attraction hotter than ever. Funny how puzzling out who might want them dead can bring a couple closer together…
** Securing Zoey is the 4th book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Another awesome book in this series by Ms Stoker…Mark & Zoey knew each other from high school and liked each other but lacked the confidence to let the other know…move forward several years when both are headed to a reading of a will of Mark’s father and that’s when things get heated…mysterious happenings, murder, mayhem, whodunnit and why….as only Susan can do you’ll find the twists and turns just keep on giving…as well as the hawt chemistry that Mark or Zoey know what to do with. Loved it!!
This is Zoey and Bubbas story.
This story has so many zigs and zags, that it WILL keep you on the edge of your seat! You will NOT be able to put it down until your finished. Then you will cry and moan because it is finished.
I’m this story not only is mark/Bubba a Navy Seal, but he also has a twin brother. They grew up in a small town in Alaska. That’s where he met Zoey, who as soon as she and her mom moved there, tried to get Mark to notice her by dating his brother.
There is a plane crash…
A jungle rescue…
A stalker/killer…
A HUGE zig zag that comes out of freaking NOWHERE…ok, you see it coming…kinda. You also think, nahhhhh, Susan Stoker would NEVER do that…oh yeah she did. Bwahahahahahaha
You so HAVE to read this book!!!

Securing Zoey by Susan Stoker was one great read, this has suspense, mystery, danger and plenty of chemistry. The characters are well written and I absolutely loved Zoey and Mark aka Bubba. I just loved this story, it hooked me from the very start. Bubba is on his way home to Alaska he knows he should have come home sooner, now all he has are regrets and guilt. Zoey lives a quiet life in Juneau Alaska deciding to go away and visit her mother she gets a call to head back home it is concerning the beloved father figure in her life. While waiting for the plane Mark and Zoey come face to face with each other, both are surprised to see one another after all high school was a few years ago. This is just where the adventure begins, there are some ups and downs with some very intriguing twists and turns that will definitely keep you intrigued.
Loves the series!
I couldn’t consume this story fast enough! I loved the description of the Alaskan wilderness, a place i had a glimpse of so many years ago! I love second chances and this had a unique storyline! Awesome, ready to consume the next in line, as this is a most interesting series!

Securing Zoey is one of my favorite book of this series. Author Susan Stoker always deliver a wonderful love story filled with love, friendship, action and suspense that sucks you in right from the start. Bubba and Zoey were a perfect match and worked well together getting out of their harrowing predicament in the Alaskan wilderness. Zoey was such a refreshing heroine and I loved her with Bubba so much. It was great to see more of Phantom and Rex and I cannot wait to read their stories.
Mark “Bubba” and Zoey were kick ass they saved each other. And were each others life line more than once while stranded in the Alaskan wild. Loved how he was all bad ass but could still be a softy towards her and her feelings. The only thing I didn’t like was the “selling for a buck” won’t go too in depth for spoilers but as an heir he has a right and that just seemed wasteful as well as a slight against his fathers legacy. But I get wanting to love on from the crazy and drama. I am seriously counting down until kaylees book. Ugh. So closeeeee. But being a nurse I’m super stoked about averys book next too.
Securing Zoey by Susan Stoker is the fourth book in her SEAL of Protection: Legacy series. This is Zoey and Bubba’s book set in Alaska.

When the planes has engine trouble and the pilot leaves them they will have to survive in the wilds of Alaska until Bubba’s SEAL Team and Tex find them. But will they find them in time?
Mark “Bubba” hasn’t been home since he joined the Navy and became a SEAL now he’s coming home because his Dad has passed away suddenly. But when he and Zoey are left stranded by a remote Alaska lake it will take everything he’s learned as a SEAL to get them to a safe rescue place. Tex of course comes to the rescue again and finds them in time. Once they finally get back to Juneau, Bubba is surprised when things don’t add up between his twin brother and the families plastic factory but when they are taken hostage again will they be able to survive?
Love how he found her equal and not a weak woman
“Securing Zoey” is the fourth book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy series and it is the story of Zoey Knight and Mark “Bubba” Wright. They both had a crush on each other back in high school in Juneau, Alaska, although nothing ever came of it. Thirteen long years later and Bubba is going back home for the first time to the funeral of his Pop and the reading of his will. A private plane has been set up to take him from Anchorage to his small town of Juneau and Zoey will be on the same flight. She lives in Juneau and been helping Bubba’s pop with things he needed help with but had been to visit her mom in Anchorage when the man had died. Being that she was also named in the will she had to get back. But their short plane flight turns into a disaster and soon Bubba and Zoey find themselves struggling to survive in the wilds of Alaska, with the knowledge that someone wanted one or both of them dead.
Bubba knows how to survive in the wild, but he is surprised at how Zoey adapts and tries not to complain. You will have to read this one to find out how they survive and who wanted them out of the picture. Five “show me the way home” stars for this one!!
This is an edge of your seat type of book!!
Bubba was a wonderful character. Not only was he featured in this book as a Navy Seal but you really got to know his as a man, son and brother. We got to learn what kind of man he was in high school and his reason for wanting to leave and join the service. I liked this. It made you want to root for him even more.
Zoey is an inspiration. I loved that the author wrote her in a way that most of us could relate to her. She wasn’t athletic, or outdoorsy. She was just a regular woman who happened to get stuck in the wilderness. I loved that she didn’t complain but yet was comfortable to let Bubba know that his was outside her comfort zone. She had a internal strength that I don’t think she even knew about. She was stuck with a man she hardly knew, in the wilderness where they come to realize someone wanted them dead.
I liked the even though we got to see Bubba and Zoey grow as a couple, the danger was always there. I liked that Bubba’s faith that his team would have his back and they did.
I cannot imagine being lost in the wilderness, but if I had an ALPHA like Bubba it might just be survivable. I did not see this ending coming and I have to admit it was tough to read, but I’m glad I finished because it was so worth it.
A very intense story that will have you keep your device in hand, because you just have to know what’s going to happen next, or whether they’ll make it out of the Alaska Wilderness, who’s responsible and so many other things you just need to know. And the small hints to the last books in the series are a major bonus.
One thing I always love when I get my hands on a Susan Stoker book is that I KNOW I will be in for a great read. With down to earth characters, an engaging storyline, suspense, mystery, and danger, along with the sizzling romance and a guaranteed HEA, Securing Zoey is another winner! I was wrapped up in this book from the first page to the last.
I really enjoyed these two characters. Mark “Bubba” and Zoey both crushed on each other in high school, but each was none the wiser of the others’ attraction. Life goes on and then years later they meet again by unfortunate circumstances and get a second chance when Mark’s father passes away and he returns home. Little did they know that they had a common enemy as well and that person was determined to keep them from making it to the reading of the will. And what better way to do that than to hire a pilot to get rid of them permanently in the Alaskan wilderness?! The tension definitely ramped up while reading this section of the story. The fear and anger of the characters seeped off the pages and the anticipation and curiosity of how they would survive were ever-present. The survival part of this read is where these characters really make an impact. Their communication, awareness, friendship, and the rekindled bond they formed was a strong part of the storyline and really helped to connect with them. The entire book, like the others in the series, was emotional and impactful.
Securing Zoey will draw you in with the suspenseful plot, unfolding mystery, intense wilderness survival, the help of Bubba’s team and TEX, Bubba’s outspoken, funny neighbor, danger and betrayal, emotional family ties and drama, and a sexy, rekindled romance with a happy ending. I enjoyed everything about this book.
If you are going to be abandoned and left to die in the middle of an Alaskan wilderness having a Navy SEAL by your side certainly increases your odds of survival. I really was captivated by Mark and Zoey’s perilous adventures. Their dynamic was so interesting as they learned to rely on one another, build each other up when situations dragged them down and realize just how much they cared for each other. What waits for them once they are rescued by Mark’s team is far more dangerous and heartbreaking. There is an upside though because they fell in love.
This is another fantastic book by Susan Stoker. This one features Bubba aka Mark. He has to return to his hometown of Juneau, Alaska for his father’s funeral and the reading of the will. His father has chartered a plane to fly from Anchorage to Juneau. Also on the flight is his high school crush Zoey. He finds out she has been helping his dad for the last 10 years with things around the house and is also included in the will. The flight is interrupted when the pilot fakes engine problems and strands Mark and Zoey in the Alaska wilderness with nothing but what they are wearing and what Mark has in his cargo pants. The two hike for days and get to know each other again. Zoey has had a crush on Mark since high school too and this togetherness is sparking some flames for both parties. Mark is sure his brothers from his Seal team will find them and then they will find who wants then dead. The list is short and includes his brother, his dad’s business partner and his dad’s lawyer. This is an action packed and suspense filled book and also has some steamy scenes. You will enjoy this one!
Zoey follows the typical Susan Stoker model of alpha hero falls for a heroine who is willing to what is necessary to get out of trouble. In this case Zoey is out of her element but fully willing to do what she can to help Bubba get them to safety. This book is a bit refreshing in the series because so far the girls have been put through some amazingly tough situations, it feels like Zoey got off a bit easy (and that’s a good thing). Piper, Sydney, and Caite had a really tough time of it and it looks like Avery and Kalee will also have a tough time, it’s a bit nice as a reader to get an emotional break. You feel awful for Bubba and the emotional turmoil he has to endure, but the novel doesn’t have you gripping the edge of your seat and wondering how they’ll ever get through it (my first Susan Stoker novel was Caroline and it seemed like she couldn’t catch a break). As a reader, when going through the entire series it’s nice to have an easy-going break in the middle. I was actually able to start one night and finish the next night because I was completely keyed up the entire time (again, a good thing).
And as always every Stoker male is the perfect book boyfriend, Bubba is no different.
Great reading!!
