After her capture by rebels in the mountains of Timor-Leste, Kalee Solberg doesn’t think she’ll live to see her father, friends, or hometown again. What started as an adventure with the Peace Corps until she figured out what to do with her life has turned into a waking nightmare, every day a struggle to survive. Beaten into submission, Kalee guesses she’s been presumed dead by now. And she has … been…by everyone but one man.
A childhood filled with abuse and neglect has turned Forest “Phantom” Dalton into the kind of man who finishes what he starts. The failed mission to rescue Kalee Solberg is no exception. After discovering she’s still alive, that he and his SEAL team left her to a fate worse than death, Phantom will stop at nothing to bring her home, with or without permission…and no matter the cost to his career.
Neither Phantom nor Kalee could ever guess another, equally grave threat awaits them back home.
** Securing Kalee is the 6th book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Phantom
I felt for Kalee, I did. But, Phantom was the true star of this one. We’ve waited forever for Kalee to be saved, and like the blurb says, the rescue was just the beginning. The true test of character I think came at the end. To finally understand you’re not alone and you do matter, priceless. I truly loved this series and excited to see North save his woman.
hands down, the best book of the series!
Seal of Protection: Legacy series has been amazing, but I can’t tell you how I craved for this story! And it was so hard to read the series in order, but I’m so glad I did. This story was more than than I could have hoped for! I do NOT cry at any thing, but there was support of Phantom’s team mates and other support staff that nearly had me in tears! Kaley and Phantom were amazing in their journey to trust and grow. Wonderful characters and the best of all Epilogues!
This is included in the blurb of Securing Kalee:
** Securing Kalee is the 6th and final book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
But I say; suck it up and binge read the series in order. It just gives more strength, character, love and trust to this title! Well done Author Susan Stoker!
I’ve loved everyone of these books. They’re believable and loving. They truly make me proud of our Navy and the SEALs.
The trial scene was worth the whole series. 😉 And the series was so good! I’ve been waiting a long time for Phantom’s story, and it did not disappoint. Truly wonderful, sensitive, protective alpha heroes–and heroines who are strong enough to truly their match. A great ending to a great series!
Securing Kalee by Susan Stoker is the sixth and final book in her SEAL of Protection: Legacy series. While I’m sad that the series will end there’s more in the future with the Hawaii SEALs team as well as a epilogue ending.
Kalee is the one person who Phantom couldn’t forget because she was left behind when they rescued Piper. So when he remembers her foot moving he’ll ask Tex to see if she’s still alive. It will be easy decision to go rogue for Phantom but leaving his team out of the loop could cause a rift between them that may not heal. No one is left behind so off to Timor-Leste he’ll go to rescue Kalee finally. Knowing that she’ll need time to heal and reintegrate back into her old life they stop in Hawaii meeting the team there.
But at what cost will Phantom have to pay for not only going rogue but will it cost him his career and friendships? What will the Admiral’s Mast decide to do and can both Kalee and Phantom make a life together?
I’ve been waiting for Phantom’s story forever and Kalee’s since Ace and Piper’s book, it did not disappoint! It is emotional and heartbreaking. Just when you think there will be a hea, there’s more threats on the horizon. This book has a rescue, dealing with trauma, the threat of loosing a career, a stalker, really angry friends and growing love.
Loved it
phantom and Kalee
When the author ends a series she goes out with a bang loved the epilogue my favorite part was when all the members of the teams supported him and reminded all of us what being in the branches of military service are about
Great Finale!! Finally we have Phantom’s story and it was worth the wait. The passion Phantom has to rescue Kalee is riveting. The love he has for her is awesomely special. Some of my most favorite parts of this story were how tuned into Kalee Phantom was. How he knew just what to do to help her re-acclimate into society and be there for her when the terrors started to take over was absolutely beautiful. Perfect romantic suspense with all the feels.
“Securing Kalee” is the sixth and final book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy series and what a way to end a series.
Kalee Solberg has been kidnapped and held hostage by rebels in Timor Leste and she really doesn’t believe that she will ever be rescued, let alone see her friends and family again. Forest “Phantom” Dalton cannot believe that they left Kalee behind on their mission to save her, but he is determined to bring her back home, whether with his team or by himself.
Phantom ends up going after Kalee all on his own, and even though he saves her, it doesn’t sit well with some of his team and it also gets Phantom in big trouble. But he cannot feel bad about what he has done, and would do it the same way, all over again.
I knew this one would be emotional and action packed and I was not disappointed. In my opinion this was the best book in the series. Really need more stars for this one, five is not enough!!
If I want/need to read a military romance filled with strong, overprotective Alpha males and their equally strong, feisty, big hearted women, Susan Stoker is my go to author. I’ve never read one of her books that I didn’t love. Securing Kalee will touch your heart as a SEAL’s obsession with saving one woman. His unwavering resolve lifts that woman, when he rescues her, from the depths of hell when she had finally lost all hope. Forest ‘Phantom” Dalton and Kalee Solberg’s love story is remarkably heartwarming and powerful.
Poor Kalee, I felt so bad for her when the team had to leave her behind, even though they all thought she was dead. The months since have been filled with fear and abuse of one sort or other. It was obvious at some point that Phantom would go back, that it couldn’t be a sanctioned rescue was hard for him but no way was he not going. I loved both these characters especially as Kalee as she got to know him stood side by side against any threat, she put him first and no one had ever done that for him. It was hard waiting to find out what would happen. Mona however was really not a well woman. Suspenseful at times but I felt this was really a love story from almost the start, these characters were strong and independent but both needed each other and their strengths to help the others vulnerability and understanding of each ones needs. I was worried about the teams reaction. Wonderful story and definitely worth reading and reccomending.
Is it possible to gush about an author, book, series too much? Or does it just let the reader know how good the author, book series is? I’m not sure of the answer but I am sure that Susan Stoker has yet again given us a masterpiece. If you’ve read previous reviews by me about this author, one of her books or series, then you are aware that I am a fan. Let me say that again. I. AM. A. FAN. So with that in mind, let me get on with my review for Securing Kalee.
This is the last book in the Seal of Protection: Legacy series. Yep, you read that right, the LAST BOOK. So that means it’s Phantom’s book. And I don’t know about you all but I’ve been WAITING for this book. So first let’s get some things out of the way…last book. No more Rocco, Ace, Gumby, Rex, Bubba, or Phantom. No more Caite, Avery, Sidney, Piper, Zoey, or Kalee. Kinda… Maybe… Ms. Stoker DOES have a habit of having some of our favorite characters pop back up in other books/series, so you really shouldn’t despair.
Finally, my review:
Securing Kalee brings the SOP: Legacy series to a close. Not with a bang but with a soft sigh. Learning about Phantom’s past and why he is the man he is and how that affects his actions is heartwarming and a bit sad. Seeing Kalee overcome the horrors and trauma of her time with her captors is uplifting and empowering. But these are traits of Ms. Stoker’s characters: integrity, honor, loyalty. Not only in her heroes but also in her heroines. She wants the reader to remember that everyone should be treated with kindness. That cruelty and abuse should not be an everyday occurrence and that we each hold the capability to love and forgive. This is something we should all strive for.
With a fantastic storyline and wonderful characters, Ms. Stoker gives the reader another gem in her already large cache of beauty. Be aware that the feels are here but softened. The pain and sadness are balanced with the joy of Kalee’s rescue and Phantom realizing the people he has touched are true friends and family. As always, I will finish with if you have NOT read a Susan Stoker book, I ask WHY? Dive into her goodness. Dive into her world. Dive into just pure LOVE. I promise you won’t be sorry.
Small PSA: While this may be the last FULL book in this series, that doesn’t mean that someone else we have come to know and love throughout won’t get his HEA…
This is another great read by Susan Stoker. I have read each and every one of her books and she never disappoints us readers.
Phantom is a guy that you would never think he would be one to fall in love based on his horrific childhood. He is injured on the last op and after recovery knows there is something he missed, but can’t remember.
As time goes on he does remember something and enlists Tex to do some recon for him.
His team reviewed what Tex brought forward and decided at this time not to go back to Temor-Leste to see if they could rescue Kaylee Solberg, the girl that was left behind, thought to be dead.
He just can’t stand by and not go back to Temor-leste to see rescue Kaylee so he goes rogue and heads for Hawaii first, then puts his plan together.
This storyline brought me to tears at times, Phantom and Kaylee’s story is incredible.
Kaylee is a strong heroine, even though she is experiencing PSTD systems, Phantom makes it his mission to help her overcome her horrific time in Temor-Leste.
The epilogue also wraps up the series. I’m going miss my Seal of Protection series, but now looking to the next series, with Mustang and his group.
I’ve waited so long for this book. I was not disappointed. As usual, this author knocked it out of the park. Can’t wait for the next book.
I have been waiting a bit impatiently for Phantom and Kalee’s story and Susan Stoker did not disappoint. I love the strength and determination of the main characters as they fight their demons on their path to happiness. Catching up with all the secondary characters is a bonus that keeps me coming back to Susan’s books. Awesome read and happily ever after. Can’t say enough good things!
I love Susan Stoker!! “Securing Kalee” is now one of my favorite of Ms. Stoker’s books. Phantom’s determination to save Kalee, and her strength after being in the hands of the rebels. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but there are a couple of scenes that just grab my heart in so many ways. Brilliantly written!
This book is everything I thought it would be. Danger, survival, determination and finish what you start. Phantom knew Kaylee was alive, he just knew it. He was bound and determined to bring her back, whether it hurt his career or not. Kaylee has lived thru hell and abuse for months. When she was at her most low and wanted to end it all, her Phantom showed up and stole her away from her captors. He had suffered abuse from those who were supposed to protect him and he wasn’t about to leave her there. I will say towards the end I was emotional myself. Excellent read.
I always one-click Susan Stoker because I know I will not be disappointed. She always leaves the most intriguing alpha male for last, and Phantom…I have been waiting for his and Kalee’s story. Ms. Stoker showed us the interworking of Phantom’s mind, and the struggle has had to belong, and his fear of being able to have more. Although, he has been catching feelings for Kalee since he realized she was alive, and he made the choice that no matter what, he was going to find her and bring her home. The trust she showed him instantly, even with everything that she went through while captured and stuck in Timor-Leste. Although, once they get back home, their safety is still in jeopardy because of someone in Phantom’s passed. Read this book, read this series….you will NOT be disappointed.
