This is another entertaining addition to the 1001 Dark Nights series and it takes place Ms. Stoker’s SEAL of Protection Legacy series. Jane is finding out what it means to be an empty nester and is crushing on a very handsome commander at her workplace. She has built a reputation which has earned her the respect of her colleagues and the managerial position of the mailroom. Commander Storm is waking up to the realization that he is getting older and wants more in his life. When a surprise wreaks havoc in Jane’s area, all bets are off as Commander Storm decides to make his move. This is not your typical romance as the main characters are older and I found it to be a nice change. The storyline itself was a bit predicable but if you enjoy a protective, alpha male who goes above and beyond, then this is one for you.
Plain” Jane Hamilton catches the eye of Admiral Storm North and he doesn’t think she’s plain at all. Although she’s been working in the mailroom for a long time and is in charge of it, he’s had this nose to the grindstone since he transferred to the building. Then one day, he just SEES her, and he likes what he sees.
Jane had crushed hard on the Admiral for a while but never thought that he’d ever notice her. Delivering his mail has been the highlight of her days and then one day, something shifts.
This is a lovely, mature, nuanced SEAL romance that keeps you turning the pages—I read through it in almost one sitting.
I loved everything about StormJane’s
story!! They’re perfect together.
Captivated from the very first page.
It’s a feel-good, sexy, moving
& intriguing romance.
A DIFINITE MUST READ!!
Absolutely LOVED it
Jane works in the mailroom on base and she runs a tight ship. Oh and she has a massive crush on Storm When Storm finally notices Jane and decides he wants to take things slow with her and eventually start dating, an incident in the mailroom quickly changes his mind
Storm and Jane together were just perfect and I loved all the extra suspense surrounding the mail incident and catching up briefly with some of my favourite SEAL teams
I love stories where the characters are just a little older and a lot more mature. Jane and Storm finally have a chance at love and there is no drama between them. They handle everything maturely, even in the face of danger. I loved seeing their relationship move forward and was on edge with the suspense.
‘How have I know you for so long without ever really seeing you?’
Aaaannnd that is the moment Storm steals your breath and your heart!
I love that Storm and Jane are slightly older, slightly awkward but brutally honest.
No spoilers, so no more to say other than we LOVE Ms Stokers SEALs.
Securing Jane is the romance of Jane Hamilton and Storm North. Jane is a divorced, single mother of an adult aged child who manages the Naval base’s mailroom. She’s crushed hard on Storm even though she knows he is way out of her league. Storm is a SEAL team commander. He’s never had a serious relationship of his own, but has watched the men on his teams fall in love. He’s also wondering how he has known Jane in passing for years, but never really saw her until now.
Securing Jane had so much drama and action, but I loved the downtimes between this couple most of all, especially how easy things felt between them from the start. I adored how they both appreciated the little things and gestures that can really show how someone pays attention and cares.
It was lovely to see them both find love at an age when they thought the chance had passed them by. their romance was sweet and tender but also hot and sexy. It was great to see a romance for a couple that wasn’t in their 20s. I loved catching up with both Rocco and Wolf’s SEAL teams as well.
Securing Jane was a really fun addition to Susan’s series since Storm has played a peripheral character in multiple books . . . it was nice to get to see him get the happy ever after the men on his teams did! 5 stars!
What a great book for February! Susan Stoker’s Securing Jane made me fall in love all over again with her amazing hero and equally amazing heroine!
Storm and Jane come together thanks to danger that comes calling and the sparks and passion and romance collide together wonderfully with the danger and suspense. It was easy to get lost in this book and after it ended, I felt content and excited. I really adore these older characters. They burn with a stronger passion in my opinion that I find sweet and awe-inspiring. I loved the action and slow burn romance and how this book made me feel. Such a great read!
Securing Jane gets a SWEET AND EXCITING FIVE AMAZING STARS!
Jane and Storm gave me a wonderful and natural feeling romance while dealing with an exciting mystery. They both work at the same base and Jane has had a crush on Storm for a while but Storm never seemed to notice her. An incident on the base brings them together in a new way. Storm is always so focused on the preparation and work needed before any of his teams are deployed and realized he never truly saw Jane. Being a SEAL, he never pursued a long-term relationship, never seeing it as fair to the woman he would leave behind but now, he has a desk job and maybe, he could find someone to share his life with. Getting to know Jane, he realizes that the right woman may have been right in front of him. I loved experiencing this journey. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I’m so happy to finally was able to read a book written by Susan Stoker. She’s been on my TBR list sometime now and boy oh boy did she live up to my expectations.
Jane was great female heroine and I want to be her when I grow up! She was hard working and funny and was a great leader. I love how Storm appreciated her and really saw her.
But I think what I loved the most was the fact that they were both mature adults that were not playing games with each other. They wanted to spend time together and enjoy each other and were clear about their wants and desires.
For my first book I can honestly say I’m a fan and will definitely be picking up another book by this author in the near future.

A quick paced, intense and suspenseful novella, Securing Jane will keep you turning pages until you get to the end. Storm North is an admiral, he oversees SEAL teams and is mentioned at various points throughout Susan Stoker’s books. Seeing him get his happily ever after is perfection! He and Jane are not your young hero and heroine. Their intimate and affectionate relationship is realistic and natural while being passionate. I loved everything about this story and could not put it down from the moment I picked it up!

I love Susan’s action and adventure novels, and this novella certainly contained heart racing moments, but what I loved even more than that was the comfortable moments in between. This relationship was about connecting on a deeper level beyond just the hot times. I really, really enjoyed this book!
Storm North and Jane Hamilton are both seasoned. While Storm had never been married, aside married to his job, Jane is once divorced and has a grown daughter. They both love their jobs and aren’t really looking to settle down, but when Storm finally notices Jane, like really notices her beyond just as another woman on base and as the mail carrier who delivers his mail, he is certainly interested.
It doesn’t take long for Storm to decide he would like to take Jane on a date, again, he’s older and I like that he doesn’t play games. I also respect that even though Jane has had a crush on Storm for quite a while, she doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to letting him know that she is interested.
I don’t want to give away the suspense leading up to their date, but once these two get together, I absolutely loved that Stoker included having them spend time snuggling, deeply respecting that not only were they just a bit older, but that they both had high pressure jobs and might be a little tired at the end of the day. I totally understood that. Yes, Susan had seriously smexy times included, but I LOVED the realism in this book too!
I love that Susan Stoker not only writes amazing stories about active Seals, she also takes the time to give their superiors their happily ever afters. Storm and Jane’s book is hopping from the get go, with lots of danger and suspense. This isn’t you’re typical romance because it’s about an older couple, but that’s what makes it believable and endearing. 5
Securing Jane is the last book in the SEAL of Protection series and has everything that I have come to expect from a Susan Story! It is the perfect balance of action and romance with characters that you can easily fall in love with.
Jane and Storm have worked in the same building for years but when Jane ends up in danger, Storm steps up to protect her but he also decides to act on the attraction he has for her. They are both mature characters and both know what they want in a partner and are not going to waste time playing games and putting off an opportunity for a happily ever after!
5 Star Review of Securing Jane (Seal of Protection: Legacy #6.5) by Susan Stoker
I have read and enjoyed numerous books by Susan Stoker and I couldn’t wait to read the last book in the Seal of Protection series and in my opinion Ms.Stoker has saved the best till last.
From the first to the last chapter I was fully invested in Storm North and Jane Hamilton’s story. There was danger, mystery, suspense, with twists and turns that held me riveted. The fact that the main characters are more mature, just added to my enjoyment.
When a bomb explodes in the mail room which Joan overseers on the naval base, she catches the eye of the man she has had her eye on, Storm. Determined to protect Jane their friendship develops which was interesting to watch.
Jane has baggage from her past to deal with and I loved how supportive and protective Storm was. This book was a delight to read and I was sad when it ended but thrilled that Storm and Jane got the happily ever after that they both deserved.
I absolutely loved that this story had a mature hero and heroine! Jane and Storm moved from acquaintances to dating, and moved along at their pace. They handled everything as the adults they were, and while some things from Jane’s past were brought up as comparison, she had long ago dealt with the baggage of her previous marriage. We also got some suspense, and that was underlying after the initial moment until it couldn’t be contained at the ending. This was a great story with great characters and I loved it!

Jane is a civilian working in the mail room at the Navy base. She’s a divorced mother of a twenty six year old daughter. Storm was a SEAL now he is a commander of two teams. He researches and plans the mission. Jane has been crushing on Storm for awhile. He finally notices her and plans to take things slow but when a package explodes and Jane is holding it, Storm rushes to her and helps her to get to the decontamination room. He can’t believe he has never noticed Jane before. NCIS tries to figure out who sent the bomb and they tell Jane she may be targeted next. Storm will do anything to keep her safe.
Suspense. New love. And a crazy bomber. Loved this story and Storm is the best. He’s handsome and protective. Jane is a little shy and can’t believe Storm is interested in her. I love the part where they go to a barbecue and she asks Storm not to leave her by herself because she doesn’t do well in crowds. I know exactly how she feels.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for the author *
I love it when those reoccurring characters from a series suddenly get their own novellas, and SS has done this with a few now.
Storm North (swoon!!!) has appeared in a few books now and it was about time he got his own hea
A fun read with a dose of intrigue, danger and alpha protectiveness, this book absolutely hits the spot
I am so in love with this series. They say that when the right person comes along…you just know it. If he believed in that sort of thing, he’d think they were meant to be together. This story has a little bit of action, but a whole lot of romance.
Jane worked in the mailroom on base. The highlight of her day was when she saw Storm. She has been crushing on him for years. Then one day, her world was turned upside down. Now she finds herself practically naked in front of her crush.
Admiral Storm North was in charge of three Navy SEAL teams. A former SEAL himself, he now sat in an office doing intel to keep his teams safe. Jane brought him his mail and gave him that big friendly smile she always wore. But something was different today. He seemed to notice, really notice her and all her curves. How had he not noticed that before? Now he’s rushing to the mailroom because something is happening that has shut down the base. His only concern is getting to Jane before it’s too late.
Jane had a crush on Storm North for years. The best moments of her day were when she gets to hand him his mail and get him to smile.
One day a bomb was sent to the base and Jane had to send everyone out of the room as protocol and locked herself in until the decontamination team came. On that same day, Storm noticed Jane, really noticed her and decided that he wanted to try going out with her. When Storm heard that there was a code black in the mailroom he didn’t stop to think. He knew Jane was there.
After that day, they got closer.
It was cute and heartwarming. A story of hope that love will find its way to you no matter when. A smart woman and a kick-ass man found their way to each other after years of feeling like they will never find the one.
