Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security Series. Much like the first book, this is filled with plenty of action to keep you turning the pages.
Dr. Elizabeth Reed is a trauma surgeon who will do anything and everything to keep her patients alive. When an officer shows up in the ER during her rotation essentially deceased she makes a bold decision that could possibly make her lose her license to practice.
Martin Bailey, a former Navy SEAL gets the call that his brother, Sergeant Austin Bailey, has been shot in the line of duty and he is needed back home in Iowa immediately. Once he arrives the last person he expects to see or hear from is his long lost love, Elizabeth Reed.
These two high school sweet hearts have a lot to discuss. First they need to figure out if the abused prisoners are related to the shooting of Martin’s brother. Elizabeth refuses to just drop it and let it go which could in turn put her in danger. Will they be able to overcome their past heartache and rekindle an old flame? Will they be able to bring Austin’s would be killer to justice? Everyone in the sleepy town of Silverton, Iowa seems to be holding some kind of secret and these two need to get to the bottom of it before anymore lives are lost.
Secure Again by R.L. Dunn is the second book in the Chase Security series. This book is a fast paced book that is full of twists and turns the whole way through. It has you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out what is going to happen.
The characters are such strong characters that for me they really carried this book. I loved the feisty and strong side you get to see of them and how well that worked with their connection. The story itself felt exciting and like the author really knew how to keep you guessing. It meant that I did struggle to put it down once I had started reading it and finished it in one sitting.
This is a great addition to the series I am looking forward to seeing what is next.
This the second book in the Chase Security Series and I have to say that it is better than the first. I recommend reading the first book to enjoy this installment. The story’s plotline has amazing details to describe what was going on. I felt as if I was right there with Chase Security. The characters are complex and complicated. The agency has former Navy Seal Martin, as the CEO of Chase Security and he is transiting into the role nicely. Martin’s brother, Austin was shot and his high school sweetheart Elizabeth was the surgeon for his brother. Will Martin and Elizabeth restart their high school fling? Will figure out what is going on in their town? I highly recommend this story to find out the answers to these and many more questions.
Secure Again was definitely a 5 star read for me. This book had everything one could possibly want in a book. Dr Elizabeth Reed and Martin Bailey are both such strong characters and I love them both. They both have amazing jobs and are both so good at what they do. Elizabeth Reed works in a hospital and is the best at what she does. I love some of her antics such as hip checking the bed to make the heart jump to show there is a heartbeat. When Elizabeth decided what she wanted to do in life she went all in. She will not save a cop over a prisoner. Everyone gets equal treatment in her care. When she starts noticing things that are not how they should be she asks questions. Such questions could be dangerous for her. Martin and Elizabeth have a history and when they come face to face some feelings come barreling back! There is so much going on in this book and I’m glad Martin went to Iowa when he did. Someone is out to get Elizabeth, will he be able to save her and her career? There were lots of characters….so many were evil some were good, it was hard to keep them straight but I did. This was a great read and I strongly recommend it to everyone.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2) by R.L. Dunn
The second book I’ve read and definitely not the last. This is the second book in the Chase Security Series, but it can be read as a stand alone. Dunn has a way of bringing you into the book.
Martin is the leading male in this book, but Ian makes an appearance. Going back to his hometown changes everything for him. Not expecting to rekindle the romance from his past. The quote I chose for Martin is: “Thank you, everyone. Those words are too few for all you are doing. I have some news for all of you. Today I made a life decision: I’ve adopted the infant injured in the trailer park fire. Lola Wyatt will be Lola Bailey by morning. In advance, I thank all her new aunts and uncles for being a part of her life. Second happy news: I plan to ask Elizabeth Reed to marry me the second she wakes up.”
Elizabeth, Beth, is a doctor who finds that guards are abusing the prisoners. When a cop is shot and she tends to him; she finds that it’s the younger brother of Martin. Not sure how things are going to go she faces the Bailey family. The quote I chose for Beth is: “That is a bleed. Eric, Patrick, recheck the CT. What vessel does it look like to you? There are multiple layers of collateral circulation from previous injuries. He follows his own book.”
This is a fantastic read and I can’t wait for the next book. Highly recommended for romance lovers.
Secure Again is the second book in the Chase Security series by R.L Dunn. I loved the first book in this series and this book did not disappoint! When the brother of Chase Security CEO Martin Bailey is critically injured in the line of duty, Martin has to return to his childhood home. Dr Elizabeth Reed, Martin’s former love, is tasks with saving his brothers life and the two are forced to reconnect.
It soon become apparent that Martin’s recent investigation is connected to his brothers injuries and Elizabeth has had suspicions in the past that everything in her small town is not as it should be, especially concerning the local prison. This book is brilliant, it is so exciting from start to finish and you never know what is going to happen next. I am definitely a fan of this series and cannot wait for book 3.
Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2)
By R.L. Dunn
4 stars
Secure Again was another great read from R.L. Dunn; the story was as engaging and exciting to read as the first one. There was great mix of mystery and suspense running throughout and I was engaged from beginning to end. I loved that the plot was predictable either; I loved having to guess what is going to happen!! There did seem to be quite a few different characters and it took me a little while to get used to them all but I loved the main characters! I loved Elizabeth! She was a really strong character and a pleasure to read about. I was definitely on the edge of my seat on a few occasions waiting to see if characters would survive and would Elizabeth be able to help them! There were a few twists in the story too which made it even better to read!
Secure Again was a great read, one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and one that I would highly recommend!
I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much if not more than the first one. If you have not read the first book, I highly suggest doing so. This is a well written story that has great details that made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I had no issues connecting with the characters as they brought the story to life. Chase security is back in this romance-mystery story that is full of action and steamy characters. There have been quite a few prisoner injuries and there seems to be some type of pattern. Will they solve this mystery before more lives are lost? We also have a little rekindling romance starting between Dr. Elizabeth and Marty. What will fate have in store for them? This story has such great supportive characters that I enjoyed reading their story. I highly recommend reading this book.
From the first page, the reader is pulled – yanked in fact – into Elizabeth Reed’s world, and the tension just keeps building. One of the things I like best about RL Dunn’s writing is that you’re kept on your toes (and the edge of your seat). Nothing is ever obvious or overstated; you travel with the characters to the end point (and to the solution), and this book is no exception to that. Elizabeth and Martin also have a chemistry that you can feel; it is never artificial. There is no superfluity in the writing; there is just a sense of being part of a frankly frightening situation. The world needs more ER doctors like Elizabeth – and more organizations like Chase Security (with men like Martin Bailey!). Before you read, be sure to have everything you’ll need for a few hours without interruption, and then revel in this book.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Loved the second book of this series! The story grips you right from the beginning and holds you all the way through. There are so many great characters and story lines that twist around each other that you don’t know what is coming next – but have to keep reading to find out! Cannot wait for the next book!!
There is a LOT going on in this story and there are a LOT of characters to keep track of. It took me a little bit to settle in to the story because I was trying to keep track of who is who. I think I was initially lost was because they were introduced with full name AND nickname. I had to get used to the cadence and once I did, I was able to go with the flow of the story.
This is a really well paced thriller that moves along rapidly and appropriately. The main female protagonist is a strong personality who stands up for what she believes in “would you say that to a male doctor?”. She holds true to her values and is willing to put personalities aside to find out the truth.
The story is clearly plotted from beginning to end and stays on point without straying to far into secondary story lines. I did not think there was a lot of filler as it has a very strong beginning, middle and end. I did not read this is one sitting, but if you have the time and attention span, I believe it could be tackled in one day.
What a brilliant introduction to R.L. Dunn this book has been. Secure Again: A Chase Group Story is an exciting, thrilling read that has danger, mystery, action, suspense and romance, to me some of the best genres a book can have. This book had me on the edge of my seat numerous times throughout and kept me wondering what could happen next. This was addictive read that had me turning the pages, and before I knew it I had finished it. It was a mentally visual read that felt as though you was there alongside the characters. R.L. Dunn not only created an epic storyline, but even better characters that brought this story to life, even more, Dr Elizabeth Reed & Martin Bailey. Elizabeth was a strong, smart & independent and Martin was the perfect male main character, they really did have some great interaction that made their journey in this read even more worthwhile.
I can’t wait to read more books of this series and enjoy more of what this author has to offer. I highly recommend this read!
Secure Again: A Chase Group Story by R. L. Dunn was a fast pace, action packed read that had me hooked from start to finish.
Not my first read from this author or in this series, so I was excited to get my hands on this read. Wow, this book hit the ground running, and like the other book in this series it was complex, action packed and super entertaining. I love all the characters, but the MC’s stole the show for me. Elizabeth, strong, sexy, smart. and kickass, she was a powerhouse with a heart of gold. That heart is what gets her into hot water, that could cause her life. Martin was great, not to alphsish, strong, sassy and just a joy to read about. I loved their interactions and the way their second chance romance got under way, even if it was due to unsavory circumstances. The plot was complex, solid and it gets your blood going, and the nerves on high alert. This book has a little bit of everything and it’s a hard must read form me.
To end this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval
Happy Reading

Secure Again (A Chase Group Story) by R. L. Dunn
5-stars
Secure Again is the second novel in this series and can be read as a standalone. It was an amazing novel from start to finish. The storyline was easy to follow and I loved the main characters. Martin and Elizabeth were wonderful to follow. I loved that Elizabeth was a strong female doctor who stood up for herself in her field. She was my favorite person in this novel. I felt the story was addicting and had an excellent climax and romance development. This is such an amazing series and I look forward to more from this author.
