The second stand-alone romantic suspense in the Triggerman Inc. series featuring sexy assassins, a baby, and a devious bad guy from New York Times bestseller Marie Harte. An assassin with a baby? Inconceivable…
Deacon’s life could be better. Deacon–the Shadow–kills people for a living. He’s a choosy assassin, and he makes no bones about his life choices. But a baby… That’s something he … about his life choices. But a baby… That’s something he knows he’d never conceive of–pun intended.

Secrets Unsealed is the second book in Marie Harte’s Triggerman, Inc. series and it is just as good as the first. We get the continued laughs, fun times, danger, mystery, and action in this captivating romantic suspense. More information is revealed on who is behind the attacks on the group, the intensity level is amped up with some newly uncovered information that provides a new direction for the team and some twists and turns with an unforeseen shocking betrayal. This installment focuses on Deacon (Shadow) and Solene (Abby’s best friend) at the forefront but the rest of the gang is also included. We get to learn about Deacon’s past, why he became a contractor, and see a new side to his personality aside from the fun jokester he always portrays as well as get a more in-depth look at Solene and her background as an ex-supermodel who now owns/runs a daycare and understand why she has shut herself off from men. Both Deacon and Solene share similar insecurities and are afraid to open themselves up and be vulnerable but together they bring out the best in each other and when they go all in it is for keeps. They make a charming duo and their romance is passionate and explosive; they have great chemistry from the start. I love the ending for this couple. As good as the first two books have been, I am really looking forward to Hammer’s story and finding out what the happy ending will be concerning Noel, Jr./Baby Dee.
I received an advanced copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
I loved these Characters! Solene is not a whiner, has a witty personality and rolls with the waves. Deacon is hot and funny. A great story!
Good read
Great series.
I enjoyed this book and now I want to read #1 and #3 books to complete the series
I don’t find a book I don’t I love to read
This is Deacon and Solene’s story. They are very independent and strong characters with similar pasts that have made each of them build walls around their hearts. Their passion is intense, sexy and all consuming but, it also hides their vulnerabilities. It is the human side of their characters that makes you believe that they will find a way to have a future together.
Even though at the center of this book is Deacon and Solene’s romance, the drama that begins in the first book of this series, ‘Contract Signed’ carries over into this one. So, I do think it is best to read this series in order because as soon as some of the mystery comes into focus questions and concerns pop up. It keeps you glued to the action and help figure out who has a vendetta against Noel, Deacon and Hammer. The action continues with Hammer’s story. A definite recommendation for Triggerman Inc.
a real page turner
Great story, well written, good characters, I really enjoyed it. I recommend it.
Thoroughly enjoyable second book in this trilogy.
Great second book in this trilogy, as the author has paired a couple totally different from book one, giving us diversity whilst keeping the background story flowing at a great pace.
A lot happening with the overall plot that kept me reading to see what was going to happen next.
Action, intrigue, betrayal and surprise abound in this story.
Whilst all of the great backstory is unravelling, we get a relationship blooming between Deacon and Solene.
These two are so alike and complement each other so well even though they both try to make light of what they are feeling.
I loved that Solene was such a strong female lead, having been a model since 11 years of age she knew how to spot fakes. Solene had her own money and definitive ideas of what she wanted.
Deacon shows more depth than we saw in book one. Whilst the charming joker is still there, we get so much more from him.
To get the best from this book I recommend reading book one first but you could read this without doing so.
Cannot wait to see what is happening with Vi. Something really interesting going on there.
This is my honest review of this book.
It was an easy read. The characters were likable but not necessarily believable. It was billed as a stand alone story – not so. After reading over 200 pages, the reason for the trouble or the solution was not much clearer than it was on page 1. The reader witnesses a lot of sex and crude language. I don’t mind sex and rough talk if serves a purpose but this didn’t add to the storyline – it was the storyline.
Interesting.
Very quickly the “plot” turned into sex and the rest took a back seat. “Angry sex” and that much detail ruined it…..
Page turner
