Every heart holds a secret, but some are harder to reveal than others… think very non-routine thoughts.
Hamish Logan, captain in the Highland Wolves, has been given a mission to protect the man working on a coded list of traitors. If the Wolves are ever to have the same rights as ordinary men, he has to prove to those in power that a wolf can be civilised. The only problem is the fascinating secretary, who makes his wolf rise to the surface and makes him want to do very uncivilised things.
When the traitors strike, Aster flees with a wolf in pursuit. But can she determine who is behind the plot against England before she forfeits her heart and her life?

Took me a bit to get into this story; a little slow developing. But eventually the story came together and the challenge the characters faced took hold.
Nice easy read
Started out Interesting, but got a little goofy with the wolf men. Not my cup of tea.
Couldn’t get into it. I quit reading.
Leaves you wanting the next, and the next, and the next… addictive!
This is a re-write of “The Cryptographer” by Alice Wallis-Eton with a paranormal twist. The first 75% of the book was wonderful. Strong female heroine who is an expert at her job in a time when women didn’t have jobs. She’s been trained by her mentor to handle various dangerous circumstances whereas the hero isn’t quite as capable. Several surprises in the plot. The last 25% of the book was dull.
Good
I am not a fan of fantasy novels…but this one held my interest from the start. Great characters, clever plot, sweet romance. Loved it!
