Mystery surrounds the sinking of a boat five years ago that lost lives and sent a man to prison. Dory comes back with a secret daughter and a search for the truth. She begins finding her life in peril more than once. Chad, her long ago boyfriend, joins her in searching out the mystery and the attempts on their lives. Who could possibly want them to stop their “digging”?
Sometimes it seems jealousy can go just a little bit too far. This was a quick read for me. It held my interest and kept me searching for the truth along with Chad and Dory. And what an ending!

Dana Mentink has penned another winner! Over the past year or so this author has become a favorite of mine, and Secrets Resurfaced did not disappoint! I have been looking forward to Chad’s story since the beginning of the series, and wow such a great read!
I loved Chad and Dory, and Ivy was absolutely adorable! It was so great to catch up with Mitch and Jane, Liam and Maggie, and Aunt Ginny and Uncle Gus, as well as loveable dog Jingles, along with the addition of an incredibly sweet puppy named Meatball the supporting cast was stellar as usual, though I would have really enjoyed it if Helen and Sergio had made an appearance.
Secrets Resurfaced is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end!
I love reunion romances and this one was so good, and the ending was totally sigh-worthy!
A perfect ending to a fabulous series!
I’m sad to see this series end but I can’t wait to read Dana’s next book!
I highly recommend Secrets Resurfaced!
(5 Stars!)

Interesting how secrets seem to create more problems than telling the truth would have. This story is full of secrets, some of which have created lost time that can never be regained. Others have created the need for lies to cover up that original information. One has to wonder how different the world would be if we lovingly shared the truth….
There is plenty of danger, suspense and mystery to keep you reading right up until that last word. As a PI, Dory Winslow has been involved in many different cases, but none that have affected her so personally. Along with all the mystery comes a whole host of squelched memories, many of which have been hidden by secrets. Is it possible that the truth will set these secrets free?

What a fabulous addition to the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series! This has been a great series, and each book can also be read as a stand alone novel, too, so don’t worry if you haven’t read the other books. Jump right in and enjoy this one.
Dory and Chad were great characters. They both made mistakes in the past, and said and did things that hurt each other. The way they treated each other five years earlier had some huge consequences then and now. The emotions between these two felt so real and I enjoyed watching them overcome all the angry feelings they had been carrying around for years.
The suspense and danger in Secrets Resurfaced was excellent. I enjoyed trying to figure out exactly what had happened in the past and who was causing such trouble in the present. Excellent story!

This author continues to amaze me with her ability to write a story that has intricate twists which heighten the plot. Each turn of the page draws me deeper into the lives of the main characters. I loved at the beginning when the action first started. Dory is one brave and determined woman. I’m not sure I would go traipsing after someone surrounded by steep hills and rocks barely hanging on to the sides. The first few chapters lay out what is in store for readers.
There is something not quite right with a tragedy that happened years before and Dory is about to find our how deep the betrayal was . I liked Chad and his desire to clear his father’s name. I found it ironic that Dory was trying to unravel a secret, when she had a secret of her own. I’m not sure I really liked Dory at times because she kept something very precious from someone. I loved the faith element in the story and how the characters soon realized that God was there protecting them.
Holy cow there was a lot of action going on during the story. I can’t remember how many times Dory was injured. The part that I liked was how willing Chad was to put his life on the line in order to keep Dory safe. There is a part in the story where they talk and I think it was a pivotal point where their relationship was healed. From that moment I understand Dory better. We all carry secrets that maybe we shouldn’t. In the Bible it says, “The truth will set you free.” This story is definitely an example of how the truth can heal wounds, forgive and be free from the lies of the enemy.
As I finished the book I kept thinking about the scripture, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” That very scripture is what sets off a chain of events that spread danger, lies, and greed. This is one of my favorite books the author has written. It captures your attention right away and delivers a look at what greed can do to a person.

Chad and Dory have a history, but it is a different history that comes to light and threatens to make them both just a footnote on a page in the history books. Can they solve the mystery before their lives are ended?
The fourth and final installment in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series is the most exciting, as it should be. You will be so engrossed in the story you won’t be able to put the book down. So don’t wait to start reading this one too late in the night. Keep them coming, Dana Mentink!

Secrets Resurfaced is the fourth and in my opinion, best installment, in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboys series. This novel tells Chad’s story. Chad happens upon Dory, his ex and also the woman who sent his father to prison. When Chad finds Dory, she is investigating the return of Blaze who was presumed dead five years ago after a tragic boating accident involving Chad’s father who was held responsible for the death of Blaze and his mother. From the very beginning, it is apparent that someone does not want Dory to find the truth of what happened on that day. But just who is it? I know as a reader I kept going back and forth throughout the story and was still surprised at the end just all that was going on and who was involved! Oh and did I mention that Dory and Chad have a little girl that Chad knows NOTHING about? Will Chad and Dory be able to rekindle what they once had and become a family? You’ll have to read to find out the answers to these questions and more.
As I have come to expect in a Dana Mentink novel, the story is action packed from the beginning, full of nail-biting suspense, relationships dealing with forgiveness and reconciliation, and just the right amount of romance.
This story could definitely be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and read the entire series so you get to know all the men of Roughwater Ranch and you will be able to appreciate the character updates in this story.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author and Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

Dana Mentink has done it again! This story is excellent! In fact, this entire series is wonderful and I’m sad that this is the last book! Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone, but each story adds to the enjoyment of the next one in the series.
I have to admit, I was kind of worried after finding out that Dory kept such a huge secret from Chad. Normally, this is something that would make me really struggle with the heroine. But, Dana Mentink handled this situation perfectly! I loved how Chad and Dory worked together to solve an old accident that put Chad’s father in jail. And I was totally shocked by the twist at the end. Didn’t see it coming at all! I also loved catching up with all of the characters from the previous stories.
Dana Mentink is a great suspense writer and I cannot wait for her next series!

I’m sad that this series has ended. Like all books that Ms. Mentink writes, this was another fantastic story! She always has a lot of great character development, wonderful plotting and a lot of action that keeps me turning the pages quickly! Chad and Dory were high school sweethearts but then one day something went terribly wrong when Chad’s father was accused of murder in a boating accident, sent to prison (with a little help from Dory’s testimony) and they split up. Five years have gone by and new information has come to light. Dory is now a PI and she’s determined to get the truth of what happened so her conscience will be clear. However, she doesn’t plan on running into Chad again! Oops! Well, she’s certainly not going to tell him about his secret daughter! However, as someone is determined to silence her before she finds out the truth, Chad is just as determined to save her from certain death! A great story of faith, forgiveness and staying alive!!!

Dana Mentik has written another fabulous fast paced novel that will have you holding your breath at every twist and turn!
Some scenes will even make the hairs on the back of your neck.
A great suspense story!
I’ve been a fan of Mentik’s for a long time and her works never disappoints me.
Sometimes though I want to shake her characters into their common sense because there are times that I feel it flies right through the window.
I think Dory’s name is cute. Just like the author describes her in the story. But she’s also stubborn and bull headed refusing help.
Parents tend to get on my nerves a lot! Especially in this book.
Chad is just like Dirt. Bull headed and stubborn to see what is right in front of him.
But you know what!? I really grew to love them both by the time this book was finished.
And a certain little girl stole my heart when I met her. I think her name suits her too.
I feel that God orchestrates things for a reason especially if it’s in His plans.
So if it’s a second chance what is there to lose? Will Dory and Chad give it a go despite the odds?
Well, you’ll just have to read this awesome story by Dana Mentik to find out!
My thanks to Netgalley and the author for a complimentary copy. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

‘He had to find out the truth. Lives hung in the balance. Lives that were beyond precious.’
Dana Mentink takes us back to the Roughwater Ranch for this fourth book in the series, featuring Chad and Dory. Chad Jaggert is the father of Dory’s child, but he doesn’t know that. Now Dory, a private investigator is back in the small town of Driftwood looking into a case that put Chad’s father in jail for five years. But someone doesn’t want the truth to get out and soon Dory’s life is in danger.
Dana Mentink again proves she is very talented at her suspenseful novels. In my opinion, this is the best in the series. I read it in less than a day. I loved every minute. Recommended
*My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. The opinions here are entirely my own.
