Witness the miracle as treasures of darkness are brought to light. It seems to be a typical US Army post in 1878. But in the midst of the regimented daily routine … … a grieving sergeant harbors bitterness and guilt in his broken heart, … a desperate young woman struggles to recover from the trauma inflicted by unimaginable circumstances, … a new recruit with a changed identity seeks to escape … seeks to escape the mistakes of his past,
and among them, a woman feels called to embrace these people in need and the secrets that cripple them.

Enjoyed!
Nice twist
I liked this book but the ending was a little disappointing
At first, I didn’t not like the book but I kept on reading it. Later on I enjoyed it.
clean
Well drawn characters, strong inspirational content.
Been quite a few years since I read this one.
But all of Stephanie’s books are great
This is my first time with this writer, but not my last. I laughed a little and shed a tear or two. I felt I was right there with the people and I enjoy a clean read. Buy it. I think you’ll be glad you did. I rate it excellent.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!! I was kept guessing until the very end. A delightful pastime on a chilly afternoon, wrapped in a blanket by the fire!!
The message of salvation interspersed within a fascinating story. Thank you for this blessing!!!!
This story was long, boring, and disappointing. I love reading Christian romance, but this book was not a romance. It’s more like a history story. Just didn’t have any redeeming points in my opinion.
Even though you could tell where the story was going. It was a positive moral story.
Takes place in military life in 1800’s. Enjoyed ready
Totally unexpected story. Couldn’t wait to see what was going to happy next! Loved the way the characters had a hand in helping each other see good and encouraged them to look for the best.
Want to read more by this author.
Liked this book, except for the ending
A real unexpected ending.
The beginning of this book was surely an attention getter. The ending was not what I expected, which is refreshing! It was very good.
A wonderful story of redemption and the power of God’s love
I love Stephanie Grace Whitson. She is excellent with the historical aspect of her books. She has action, mystery, sometimes the characters and plot does not go the way you thought and she keeps you very entertained and always wanting to read what comes next. Above and beyond that, she writes her books with the salvation message in them clearly and is very Christ centered and glorifies the Lord Jesus. I would highly recommend Stephanie, especially if you love Christian Fiction with history, mystery, a little love story that is not overwhelming , a little tear jerker and Christian based all tied together in one story.
