From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Daughters of the Bride comes the charming tale about the problem with secrets, the power of love and the unbreakable bond between sistersKelly Murphy’s life as a tulip farmer is pretty routine—up at dawn, off to work, lather, rinse, repeat. But everything changes one sun-washed summer with two dramatic homecomings: Griffith Burnett—Tulpen … repeat. But everything changes one sun-washed summer with two dramatic homecomings: Griffith Burnett—Tulpen Crossing’s prodigal son, who’s set his sights on Kelly—and Olivia, her beautiful, wayward and, as far as Kelly is concerned, unwelcome sister. Tempted by Griffith, annoyed by Olivia, Kelly is overwhelmed by the secrets that were so easy to keep when she was alone.
But Olivia’s return isn’t as triumphant as she pretends. Her job has no future, and ever since her dad sent her away from the bad boy she loved, she has felt cut off from her past. She’s determined to reclaim her man and her place in the family…whether her sister likes it or not. For ten years, she and Kelly have been strangers. Olivia will get by without her approval now.
While Kelly and Olivia butt heads, their secrets tumble out in a big hot mess, revealing some truths that will change everything they thought they knew. Can they forgive each other—and themselves—and redefine what it means to be sisters?
Told with Mallery’s trademark heart and humor, the Tulip Sisters are in for the most colorful summer of their lives…

Sometimes you need an easy romance to read with a happy ending. This one fit the bill. Likable characters, a fairly predictable plot, and a love story that made you feel good after reading it. It kind of read like a Hallmark movie – (Hey, Hallmark bring it on!).
I enjoyed the book, but didn’t love it. I liked most of the characters but the main hero and heroine. Since the book bounced around between three women and their love lives it wasn’t as distracting as it could be, but the main heroine had a lot of issues, but most were self-made and not exactly reasonable ones. I much preferred the love stories of her friend and sister better, they seemed more real to me. It was an enjoyable read, just not great.
Good story of how sisters reconnect and also find love.
Secrets of the Tulip Sisters by Susan Mallery.
It is a great book. It has multiple romances going on at once.
Kelly and Griffin, Kelly’s Sister Olivia and Sven, and Kelly’s best friend Helen falls in love with her dad Jeff. Sisters Kelly and Olivia get to know each other after years apart. Kelly and Griffin relationship has ups and downs, but they fall in love and get married, Olivia and Sven are a great couple, and Helen falls in love with the much older Jeff who is Kelly and Olivia’s dad. There are secrets and stuff that come out that make the book so much fun to read. I really recommend this book. there are other characters that cause problems but the couples work through their problems. This book was very good and I recommend to others to read if you want a great romance.
Easy nice book to read.
Favorite Quotes:
Every year Delja visited her daughter for three weeks. The entire town wept as the supply of cinnamon rolls dried up. Tempers grew short and people counted the days until Delja’s return.
She was currently subscribing to the when-then philosophy— distant cousin to the if-then concept. When she lost weight, then she would be brave and throw herself at Jeff.
I don’t want to hate her because that means I’m devoting too much energy to her. I want to not care. I need to find my Zen center.
I’d invite you over, but my mother is there and I like you too much to subject you to that.
I know you could do better, but I hope you won’t try.
My Review:
I adore Susan Mallery’s work; I don’t think she could write a bad story even on a dare. I haven’t read all of her books but of the ones I have, I’ve noticed her characters tend to be complicated, complex, endearingly flawed, and much like real life people they are also frustrating at times yet they are always compelling and highly relatable. Secrets of the Tulip Sisters was an engrossing women’s fiction novel boasting an entertaining, well-balanced, and well-paced storyline with lots of family drama, several romances, clever humor, small town issues, and challenges to bonded friendships. The writing was colorfully amusing with clever banter and witty quips between characters, scalding hot sensual scenes, insightful observations, and a vile and conniving villain for everyone to despise.
Good story. Romantic, just a little graphic. Good family dynamic.
I’m a huge Susan Mallery fan, this is one of my favorites
I love Susan Mallery’s characters…
I enjoy reading Susan Mallory’s books.
I enjoyed reading about the various relationships. I was never bored and loved the characters.
Really liked this book. I enjoy all of her books. One good writer.
Loved it!
The Secrets of the Tulip Sisters actually had a wonderful story. One I could enjoy and think about. I do not care for books that could be condensed down to ten pages. Characters that talk continuously to themselves about how hot their love interest are is so boring. I love Susan Mallery’s books. She is an enjoyable author and you know you will enjoy any of her books.
Love this author – easy to read and follow.
Lots of great characters in this book. Most you love, some you will hate. Easy read in the sense that the story flows nicely, before you know it you’ve read it all.
I’m an avid Susan Mallery fan. I love all her books and this was no exception. It was a stand alone story of 3 women, friends, family and secrets. It was well written. Had me pulled in right away and keep me interested until the very end.
Very good book. Great characters, lots of secrets and interesting twists.
Another great one from Susan Mallery.
This is an interesting book. It is more of a romance than a women’s fiction. The novel is based on three love stories. Kelly and Griffith, who knew each other from growing up in Tulip Crossing and had a brief unhappy connection. Kelly’s sister, Olivia, who left the town when she sent to a boarding school at the age of 15, after her mother left home. Olivia returns home in this story and finds her other half, although it is not as simple as that is stated. Their father Jeff also finds love in this story with Kelly’s best friend Helen. Jeff’s ex-wife show up again also in this story and causes a lot of conflict.
I was drawn more to the Helen and Jeff plot line. I enjoyed reading about their friendship for years and then their romance. Kelly and Olivia’s stories are more of a modern romance, where they have sex, then find love. I do not necessary agree with that path, but it is fiction, and I am open to it because of that.
It was a bit hard for me to get into this book at first. I love Susan Mallery’s stories, so I pressed on and once I understood who the characters were, the story became very interesting and I was deeply involved.
As the title states, there are several secrets that has caused this family to become dysfunctional and separated. As the story unfolds, secrets are revealed and the family is healed, united by love by the end, as a romance story should end, happy.
