If Lord Donovan Trent had his way, he would spend his days carelessly wooing the women of London society. Instead, he found himself banished to the English countryside of Cornwall, forced by the decrees of his father’s will to run his family’s tin mines and find a country bride. The last thing the handsome lord needed was a local lass sticking her nose into his affairs, but that seemed to be … exactly what the parson’s daughter Corisande Easton had in mind.

If you like this genre, you’ll like this well-written story. The characters are both strong and nuanced, and the plot and the setting well developed.
Love the chemistry between the two. A bit of unexpected twists, which kept me interested. Strong, protective male and strong smart female.
The book was a page turner. Couldn’t put it down. Good Read
Characters are strong(especially women), plot lines are credible and writing is first rate. Minger creates plausible stories set in places that can be easily envisioned by the reader. Tales wind out smoothly and finish completely. I like that.
I loved this book!! Good understandable characters.
Fun to read, great characters. The humor was quite nice.
Courageously heroine who put her village needs before her own. Loved the characters in this book.
He needs a wife she wants better for the ppl that live around her.they make an agreement. His father is a tyrant but he changes everything for the better let’s her believe it was her idea. She’s a smuggler someone tries to kill her
A Good Read.
Not that great, too predictable
The main female character is too strong. She’s overbearing & mean. She says & does things that are hurtful before she finds out all of the details. I was emotionally involved due to the main male character but was upset at how much of a brat the female was.
Well the story starts out ok. But there’s just to many sub plots that get in the way of the storyline. They treat each other quite horrible yet fall in love? Hard to believe it. And she was hard to like through out the whole book. Ends well though.
Book was predictable from start to finish.
Well written, typical historical romance. Predictable, so it’s a good book to read when you don’t have time to finish it right away.
I liked this book. What almost made me put it down and throw up my hands was the sheer vitriol the main character would aim at her love interest. I know she had emotional baggage, but after a certain point in the novel I really wanted her to stop spitting ridiculous and angry accusations at the man! She would accuse him of the most horrible and violent acts, against her! It began to stretch my credulity after a while and I began to actively dislike her. Resisting tender feelings to protect from potential pain is fine, but damn. I would have liked the author to couch this differently.
Not a realistic poryrayal of the heroine or other characters.
