A great entertaining read, based on Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’. It us so clever how the author has incorporated the characters and the story into today’s Hollywood! Very witty. Cherming characters. And a sweet, fulfilling HEA.
I’ve been waiting patiently for Emma & Jaxson’s story since Ms. Blume’s debut novel – let me just say, it was worth the wait! Jaxson is one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends, hands down. That “practice kiss”?? OFF THE CHARTS dreamy making me reread the entire scene again. I love Emma, but she frustrated me on more than one occasion, and I found myself yelling at my Kindle for her to open her eyes! AHHH! I was totally invested in these characters – that is one of the things I love best about Ms. Blume’s amazing writing-style. The characters she creates are like-able and you are rooting for their happily-ever-after from the get-go. The banter is clever, and laugh-out-loud funny – but beware, your emotions will catch you off guard at times. Get lost in this wonderful romance that will leave you swooning! BRAVO!
Sometimes a story starts off in a great way and has you laughing from the start to the finish. This is definitely one of those stories. It’s enjoyable, clean, a bit of romance, sweet and classy and a great romantic comedy. Highly highly recommend.

This turned out to be a good story with a lot of activity happening and a build up to the HEA ending. It took a bit for the story to grab me but when it did I could not put the story down. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

This is Jaxson and Emma’s book and it does not disappoint. Funny and emotional –my only complaint is that the book ended. If you enjoy sweet romantic comedy this is a must read.
Loved Jaxson, director and Emma, actress and the spark that they had. Emma is a wanna be matchmaker following in her Aunt Stella’s matchmaking and acting footsteps. This is a slight comedy of misunderstandings between Emma and the person she is trying to hook-up.

This is a clean and sweet story with engaging characters that have great chemistry. It pulls you in from the beginning, has a nice flow, and wonderful storyline. This is definitely a fun read with laugh out loud moments and great banter.
I received a free copy of this book and have chosen to give my honest opinion.
I loved the story of Emma and Jax. The Brit and the Aussie. Their friendship that grows into something more! Such a fun read can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Secrets of a Hollywood matchmaker is a sweet, fun and entertaining read. Its wonderful written and enjoyable storyline. Its easy to read and a page turner. I thought Emma and Jaxson are wonderful characters and enjoyable to read about. This story kept my interest through out the story.
I read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book All thoughts and opinions are of my own. Thank you Gigi Blume for letting me read this story.
So many reasons I loved this book. Where do I begin? I love this series and I love Gigi Blume’s writing. This is a Jane Austen retelling and the author did well keeping the spirit of Emma while making the story uniquely her own. Jaxson and Emma were just wonderful. Emma was just as good & infuriating at the same time. Jaxson was steady and handsome for his Emma. I enjoyed the wit, dry humor and sarcasam sprinkled in the book. The characters were written well and with depth. Nice story line, dialogue and imagry. I stayed up too late to finish the book. Captured and held my interest from page 1.
Gigi Blume takes the reader on a sweet journey to a happily ever after ending.
By sweet journey, don’t get me wrong, there is lots of angst to engage the reader’s brain. There are lots of laughs to make the journey a positive experience. Lots of times the reader may, or may not, want to slap a character in the back of their head so they just ‘get it’. The reader is never sure that there will be a good ending. Until the end.
But the read is worth the time the reader puts into the story. The only problem I personally had with the story was the lingo. It wasn’t familiar to me. I think that was just me though.
A modern update of Jane Austen’s Emma. This book is cleverly written with interesting characters and a modern story line. I’m going to admit it took me a minute or two to get into the writing pattern but once I did I didn’t want to put the book down. Get and enjoy.
Secrets of a Hollywood Matchmaker is a very well done adaptation of Austen’s Emma. It manages to stay true to the innocence of the original while bringing the story into the 21st century. Jaxson’s care of Emma is swoon worthy; he even reads to hear over the phone to help her fall asleep. Emma spends more than half of the book completely clueless about the objects of her matchmaking and her feelings for Jaxson. This is a sweet romance that should hold you attention.
I rated this book 4.5. If you like lots of witty banter, interesting characters, and swoon-worthy kisses then you will probably love this adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma. Oh, that all men loved their women like Jaxson loves Emma! Why the minor deductions? The book was full of phraseology that is unique to England and Australia which made it a little harder for me to understand and there was some mild profanity which may be offensive to some readers.
Another amazingly awesomely funny book by Gigi Blume! Just the right of romance with huge doses of hilarity! A DEFINITE MUST ADD TO YOUR TBR LIST!
Do you ever begin a story and think, “Don’t do it, character. Just walk away.” Only a little while later to think, “No! That is exactly what I said not to do!” Oh, Emma.
I loved this modern adaption of Jane Austen’s Emma. It was done in loving homage to the original work with a modern-day way to make it all work and be fun.
Emma has always been a story I loved and hated because I have a hard time with awkward moments. This book was no exception, but I loved Confessions of a Matchmaker and find their characters so fun and loveable that I absolutely enjoyed their story.
Sweet, classy, clean, a touch of heat, no bad language, and funny moments. Definitely will read again. Love this author, she writes in fun ways that I absolutely enjoy.
I received an ARC copy, but all opinions are my own.
Having read the prequel to this book I’ve been in eager anticipation of the full story for eight months now. I was not disappointed. I do love Jane Austen’s books, especially Emma and this is a fabulous version of it. It’s modern and yet somehow it was able to keep the main elements to the story that make it uniquely “Emma”. Of course the chemistry between Emma and Jaxson is kicked up several notches from the original 1800’s storyline (deliciously done). This is a longer story than what I normally read but the storyline kept a good pace and I didn’t find myself getting bored or distracted at all. I can see myself re-reading the whole book again in the next few months. Okay, total honesty I’ve already re-read a few of my favorite chapters. I just love Jaxson and Emma: their mind reading abilities, Emma’s love for food (real food and junk food alike), the sweet things Jaxson would do like reading a book to her over the phone to help her sleep! How did these people take so long to see they were made for each other!?
The story was written from 2 different points of view, Jaxson who is an Aussie and Emma who is a Brit. I liked that the author used vocabulary and spelling from each of these two distinct backgrounds. I have family in Oz and to read the phrase ragbag just made me feel all warm inside!
I received an advance copy of this book to from the author. The review is my own honest opinion and completely voluntary.
This is a clean romance.
Rating: PG/PG-13 because there was a lot of ‘longing’ at a distance.

Secrets of a Hollywood Matchmaker
Rockin’
This book is rockingly funny. It’s hold-onto-your-seats fast-paced and smouldering sexy and swoony (but no sex scenes). The extreme flirting and sexual tension nearly caused my hair to catch on fire. These two are H-O-T HOT!!! I may have fallen a little in love with Jaxson (again!) and I loved the chemistry between him and Emma.
I loved the first book in the series and was anxiously awaiting the release of this one and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Well worth the wait. I was completely satisfied with the ending – no cliffhangers!
