Is it circumstance…or murder? It’s up to Serenity and her ex-Amish boyfriend, Daniel Bachman, to discover the truth about the new shaman-type medicine man who’s brought his dark secrets to Blood Rock.

The Amish are a secretive culture of people. Sometimes the secrets are carried to the grave. But sheriff Serenity can unearth them with the help of her hunky ex Amish boyfriend.
Great Amish mystery. Keeps you guessing until the end
Great mystery set in the Amish community. Only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the way the chapters are driven – two main characters share the story from their personal points of view, each chapter being fully their own. Made it great to get both sides, but found myself confused several times having to scroll back to see who’s chapter it was. Fantastic plot though, and several characters that will keep you guessing. This book was stand-alone, though references to earlier books are frequently made. However, it was easy to read this one without them, and it had a satisfying wrap-up, while leaving a few things hanging to continue the series.
Second book i’ve read about the sherriff and the amish in Indiana. this one was even creepier than the 1st, women and girls dying in childbirth and laying on of hands. still enjoying the romance between daniel and serenity and her learning the amish ways.
I really enjoyed the myseries and yes there are basically two and enjoyed the characters. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is a descriptive sex scene. I recommend as long as you don’t mind skipping a few pages.
The entire Serenity Plain series has been gripping…can’t put them down. I’ve learned so much about the plain people (Amish), that I never knew before. Serenity finds herself in such puzzling cases and life…I highly recommend these. On the fourth one now and hope there are more…I don’t them to stop!
Great read
It dragged a little at times, but is well written. Great character development and plot.
Great read
It on the same line of other books I’ve read
Truly enjoyed it and didn’t want to put it down.
I realized I’ve read another in this series and enjoyed it also.
The book was hard to get into. Too much was assumed about the characters from other books. I constantly had to refer back to identify characters and their relationship to the plot.
Well written page turner that had you thinking.
Very good read. Enjoyed
Seemed a little slow
Interesting setting for a mystery, learned something about the Amish while enjoying a great murder-mystery.
An interesting book involving the Amish community. A bit of a surprise ending.
different type of mystery. I enjoyed reading about the Amish and setenoty and Daniel. lots of promise for future reads. characters are a bit hard to keep straight..
Loved it and would recommend it to all.
