With the help of her newly acquired friend, she navigates the ins and outs of a close-nit community, making both friends and enemies.

What a great start to Secrets in Suburbia by Melody Calder (book 1). You quickly fall into this series and stand back wondering what the heck, with the twists and turns. We meet the fabulous Sam and Rich as they move into their dream home and quickly become involved within their new community. Relationships are tested, emotions run high and very real, normal events set a great pace. RH with mystery, nice and spicy and book 2 coming soon….I’m a fan.
Samantha & Rich just moved into a neighborhood where the homes are big & beautiful and the lawns are perfectly manicured. Although the welcome wagon from the female neighbors act & dress a little strange, they are both looking forward to creating happy memories. All it takes is for Samantha to overhear a late night conversation for a plan to be set in motion that will deliver unexpected decisions & consequences no one sees coming.
This book was a page turner with a great plot & intriguing characters. Even though Samantha makes some questionable choices you can’t help but to be on her side. I thought the author did an amazing job & I look forward to reading more from her!
I truly enjoyed this book with all its twists and secrets. Melody really knows how to put a story together. I reccomend this to anyone that enjoy the real housewives type of plot. I can’t wait to read the next book
I don’t even know where to start describing how much I loved this book and why. First of all, I’ve had this book for a while and for some reason I wanted and waited to start reading it. What a mistake! Once I started I could not stop, it was that good, that much fun, that engaging and absolutely overconsuming!
The author’s writing is beautiful, consistent, it has a great flow and it is so incredibly engaging, I could not stop! I know I said that already but not only that I could not stop reading this book, I could not stop until I read all of her books! The author is that good! And contemporary romance is not my thing at all! Or it wasn’t so much before. It is definitely now.
The story is based on a supercomplex plot full of intrigue, romace, hotness, and various side stories and subplots. The world is beautifully constructed and expands slowly and the characters are incredibly well developed and wonderful. The intercharacter relationships and groups dynamics are interesting and realistic. This book is mostly narrated from Sam’s point of view with some intermissions from other characters, which adds so much to the story.
Sam is a wife from suburbia, just moved to the new house and starting new life with the love of her life, her husband Rich, meeting new neighbours, Elena and Robert, Victoria and Jake, Rachel and Stuart, and all is seemingly perfect, until little things start popping up out of order. And all kinds of forbidden things happen.
I did not expect so much to happen in this book, and it is all incredibly exciting! I had no idea how the author is going to tie all the loose ends and answer all the questions, but she managed to do that brilliantly, and left some for the next books. I loved this book so much and I absolutely love this series!
Books are best read in order: Secrets in Suburbia (Suburbia Book 1), Men in Suburbia (Suburbia Book 2), A Very Suburbia Christmas (Suburbia Book 3), and Escape to Suburbia (Suburbia Book 4 Prequel).
SECRETS IN SUBURBIA
When Samantha and Rich Sharpe move to a small suburb of Atlanta, the story immediately takes off with a strong Desperate Housewives vibe. Everything looks pretty ordinary but Samantha slowly finds out that behind the scenes things are not as neat and tidy as they appear. Everyone has secrets but worse of all, her husband cheats on her. Planning her revenge she isn’t shy of starting her own posse of lovers. The story has some great, unexpected twists and turns. Adding Mario to her collection of lovers toward the end feels a bit rushed, but the cliffhanger at the very end stirs the anticipation for book #2
