A new novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series: Lt. Eve Dallas must separate rumors from reality when a woman who traffics in other people s secrets is silenced. The chic Manhattan nightspot Du Vin is not the kind of place Eve Dallas would usually patronize, and it s not the kind of bar where a lot of blood gets spilled. But that s exactly what happens one cold February evening. The … what happens one cold February evening.
The mortally wounded woman is Larinda Mars, a self-described social information reporter, or as most people would call it, a professional gossip. As it turns out, she was keeping the most shocking stories quiet, for profitable use in her side business as a blackmailer. Setting her sights on rich, prominent marks, she d find out what they most wanted to keep hidden and then bleed them dry. Now someone s done the same to her, literally with a knife to the brachial artery.
Eve didn t like Larinda Mars. But she likes murder even less. To find justice for this victim, she ll have to plunge into the dirty little secrets of all the people Larinda Mars victimized herself. But along the way, she may be exposed to some information she really didn t want to know

Couldn’t put it down. I’m always sad when I turn the last page. I can’t get enough of J. D. Robb.
Roarke and Eve always make for a dynamic read. I didn’t give my usual 5 star rating only because something just seemed a tad off when the killer was unmasked…just seemed a little rushed, but it was still a terrific read. Can’t wait for #46!!!
I always love J D Robb books. We
Loved it this is my favorite series
Recommend all In Death books
I can’t get enough of this series. I own them all (I think) . Though they are somewhat predictable by this time, I’ll still continue to buy them.
I like the whole series
Enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can’t wait for more from this author.
Another awesome book in a great series!
I am a fan of the in death series. Love the interaction with Rorak and Dallas. There love and devotion. The story lines are great.
Love this series!
I love the “In Death” series and how J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts) brings the 2060s to life. I’ve read every single one of these books, many more than once. I love how she brings the reader into this world, and her characters are well developed and really likable. I’ve already pre-ordered the next book in the series.
I love how her characters grow and develop. It really is like visiting old friends.
One of J.D. Robb’s less engaging books. It seemed to take forever to read and was slow reading. That is unfortunate because I really like her books.
I love Eve Dallas and Roarke! JD Robb weaves a spell that pulls you in.
I love this series. A little romance, but just a touch. Well developed characters, plots, and detail. I usually do not like stories set in the future, but these are well done. I have read every book in this series and eagerly await the next one.
Loved this book. Really like this JD Robb series.
J.D Robb never fails to make an interesting story with characters you love; and, in this case, characters you dislike. Eve stands for the dead even when the dead deserve it. Great read!
So so
I love that JD Robb writes this series in the fugue but not so on your face about. Just subtle things like communicators or tokens for Tubes of soda. The way the murders take place always has a futuristic twist.
I like the characters
