A new novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series: Lt. Eve Dallas must separate rumors from reality when a woman who traffics in other people s secrets is silenced. The chic Manhattan nightspot Du Vin is not the kind of place Eve Dallas would usually patronize, and it s not the kind of bar where a lot of blood gets spilled. But that s exactly what happens one cold February evening. The … what happens one cold February evening.
The mortally wounded woman is Larinda Mars, a self-described social information reporter, or as most people would call it, a professional gossip. As it turns out, she was keeping the most shocking stories quiet, for profitable use in her side business as a blackmailer. Setting her sights on rich, prominent marks, she d find out what they most wanted to keep hidden and then bleed them dry. Now someone s done the same to her, literally with a knife to the brachial artery.
Eve didn t like Larinda Mars. But she likes murder even less. To find justice for this victim, she ll have to plunge into the dirty little secrets of all the people Larinda Mars victimized herself. But along the way, she may be exposed to some information she really didn t want to know

Another great story from I D Robb. She really knows how to paint a picture with words!
Love eve and Roarke. Couldn’t put it down.
I’ve been reading this series from the beginning for years now and I’m never bored. Another winner by this author, it had me glued to my kindle.
I rarely work out whodunnit as the author often throws in a red herring. I think this time I was actually in sync with Eve.
Eve Dallas along with her husband Roarke (just stop to sigh here lol) are on a murder case, even when the victim was a bitch justice needed to be served. Once again this author put these characters through the wringer. There was so much going on and I was lapping it up. This author’s mind fascinates me the way she works Eve and Roarke. The case gradually evolved and layers were pulled back. If only our police has this technology now.
Great story, fantastic characters. I highly recommend it.
Always a good read
One of my favorite JD Robb books!
I love all JD Robb books
This book is not fast paced or full of twists and turns like some others prior but I found this a good solid read that I couldn’t put down.
This book was calmer and flowed at a good pace due to the fact Eve and Peabody were not chasing a serial killer. This gives us a story that is a pleasure to read but gives us more interaction and private time with Eve and Roarke.
Funny how some secrets closer to home are revealed as there has been an awful lot of discussion on her fan page about things that get revealed in this book.
For one of the few times in this series, I wasn’t sure who the killer was until nearly the end.
Larinda Mars was a parasite and no loss to the living but poor Kellie.
I would have liked to know how things ended for some of the people being blackmailed but we are given nothing along those lines.
Great interaction with the usual characters, nice to touch base with nearly everyone in Eves life.
As always love the 2 main characters Dallas & Roarke’s relationship and how, no matter what they find strength in their live for each other. Enjoy the reparte between Dallas & Peabody.
Riveting. JD Robb does it again
I love them all!
A great read
J D Robb is one I have all her books and loved them all. I get it as fast as I can when they are out.
J. D. Robb is my favorite O love all her books and have read all her in death series and anxiously awaiting for the next. I love her characters
I’ve read the entire series and love the characters. It is like a great television cop drama series. But can go in different directions because it is set in the future.
The In Death series by J.D. Robb is a favorite. You should just binge on them, read them all in order. Or re read them in order.
Love the series
JD Robb books are always a good read. The continuing characters are well developed and it is interesting to see how they have progressed.
Love this series.
LOVE this series, read them all. Can’t wait for the next.
As always JD Robb doesn’t let you down.
