It was late on Friday afternoon, but was that any excuse?Property Manager Maddie’s heart sinks when she realises that she has given Alex Isherwood the wrong keys to his rental cottage. It’s already dark and the weather is foul and promising to get worse. There’s no other option – she has to drive out to Seaspray Cottage and sort out this mess.Give him the keys – that was all she had to do. So … had to do. So how was it that an hour later, she was sitting in front of an open fire, minus her own clothes, and sharing a meal with a man who didn’t take ‘No’ for an answer? The tempest outside was nothing to the storm that was stirred up inside the cottage.
With a shared history in the town, they had a few things in common, but didn’t know how much. It’s amazing how tightly held some secrets can be, even in a small town where everyone knows everything. Can it really be that they are related?
Maddie’s world disintegrates as the secrets of her past are revealed.
An intriguing novella.

Secrets at Sandy Bay
by Emily Hussey
Secrets at Sandy Bay; packs a lot in a tiny package, to interest and intrigue the reader. A captivating story, with a touch of mystery that is well worth reading. An intricate storyline of a chance meeting that will captivate the readers the heart, grabbing the reader’s interest from the very first page, with a couple of twists added that are out of sight.
Wonderful love story that written with characters that have an instant attraction and a chemistry that ignites, as they strike up a friendship; which quickly turns into more. An enjoyable sweet plot; where our hero continually aids our leading lady, with a touch of mystery and issues that make this book more interesting to read.
Ms. Emily Hussey has done an excellent job at writing a good book; where she shows her flourish of controlling the guarded secrets, until just the right moment.
Well done, a sweet love story that catches the reader’s attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I love how Ms. Emily Hussey was able to write the chemistry between the characters, that has a feel of how it would be in real life; not just in a book. Although it reads like a preview to a full story, as it ends far too soon; which may mean there could be more to this story. This is the first book by Ms. Hussey, and I am looking forward to reading other work. I receive a free copy of this book and willingly chose to review it; but I liked it so much I just bought it. Therefore, I feel that the author and her book merit a 4.5-star rating.

This is the first book by this Author that I have read a well written story that grabbed my interest from the very first page. I will be looking for more books by her. I received a copy of this book and liked it so much I also bought it.
I absolutely loved this book! It’s the first I’ve read by this author and it’s a wonderfully sweet romance. Despite being a short book it’s a great read and just enough info to allow you to really enjoy it. The 2 main characters are both adorable and neither one was really looking for a romance, but they didn’t fight it too much and allowed it to happen. There is also enough information in the book that I would love to read more about these 2 characters, along with their relations that the main characters talked about. I have signed up for this authors emails as this shall definitely not be the last book, I choose to read by her! This may have been a very short story but there are a couple of twists that are out of sight. Super good story but cannot say too much or it will give the story away. Just pick it up it is so worth the time reading. Now I am looking forward to reading other work by Ms. Hussey. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Secrets at Sandy Bay packs more than a little drama in such a tiny package. Hussey thrives on keeping the truth a guarded secret until just the right moment. Alex is a stranger in a small town. Maggie is the woman who could change all his plans. A chance meeting. A long hidden reveal and a strong sense of doubt are all that stand in their way. Will theirs be a match made in heaven or a heartache built on lies? An intricate tale that captivates the heart, but ends far too soon.
Alex and Maddie meets when he signs in to occupy a cottage he rented. Maddie accidentally gives him the keys to the wrong cottage and to rectify it she drives out to give him the correct keys. A storm erupts trapping Maddie with Alex and a relationship develops. But concern arises when her father explains to her that he is not the father and another man is. In the mean time Alex and Maddie are caught in the middle. Will it bring an end to a beautiful relationship?

Firstly I’m not a fan of novellas & I’m not sure I could even call this that with only 3 chapters. It is disappointing as I think if this was extended to make it into more this would make a good story. There’s actually quite a bit going on as well as a few good twists. Maybe the author should consider that. The tale was just so condensed for me.
I also don’t like the promotion of other books.
