I have enjoyed the Lavender Tides series, but have to say that Secrets at Cedar Cabin is definitely my favorite book of the series! I highly recommend reading the books in order. There is an ongoing mystery and situation that does not get resolved until this book and its conclusion will be more meaningful and understandable if you have read The View from Rainshadow Bay and The House at Saltwater Point. There is also a novella in the series, but I have not read it and did not have any trouble following the story without it.
I love the way the author concluded this series, the way the former characters have a good bit of page time in this story, as well, and I really enjoyed the romance that developed between Lance and Bailey. Many twists and turns made this a book that I had a hard time setting down!
We return to Lavender Tides to finish up the story of the last of three siblings being reunited. Bailey Fleming is fleeing for her life after her mother is found murdered and she finds a note from her mother to run. Bailey runs to Lavender Tides where unknown to Bailey her siblings are searching for her from this town. The sobering storyline of human trafficking joins well with Bailey’s search for truth and finding the perfect place to call home. Meeting and working with FBI agent Lance Phoenix may bring both Bailey’s searches to a happy ending if it is in God’s plan. Wonderful inspirational suspense with a dash of romance.
couldn’t put it down
With the third full-length novel to the intriguing series, the author untangles the web of lies, crimes, secrets, and consequences of choices made, delivering a story that allured the mind, and was difficult put down until the destiny of the cast of characters were revealed.
With several subplots going on simultaneously, and all the characters, from the heroes to the culprits, getting their chance to tell their side of the story, it took an effort to keep all the lines untwined. As some of the points of the plot have been following the series from the beginning and for the number of people introduced in the tale, I would highly recommend reading the previous books before starting this one. Yes, it is mentioned in the blurb that this is a stand-alone novel, but I dare to disagree with that after reading the three books.
Even though some twist of the plot left me wondering and questioning the relatability, human trafficking comes across as very realistic, the way they hunt the prey, the way they treat them, and how they sell them, it is cruel, horrid, and brutal, giving me chills as I read through the experience of Ava and the other victims of the traffickers.
Bailey Fleming and Lance Phoenix were likable characters, who I grew to care for and cheer for as the story progress. Some of the past and current events in Bailey’s life were on the edge of my imagination and understanding and even after finished reading the book I was left wondering with some questions. But the growing attraction between Lance and Bailey was not one of the questions in my mind, it seemed authentic and tangible, something that had future potential as well. The romance between them doesn’t have a major part in the tale, but it clear that the feelings in their hearts taking root were more than just friendship.
There is so much going on in the book, both on the human interest aspect and on the criminal, suspense aspect, that the only way for me to read the story was completely immersing into it, and get lost in the pages of the tale of forgiveness, family loyalty, and finding your true self and staying true to it. The folks at Lavender Tides will solve another tangled web of crimes while trying to move on with their own lives.
With thrilling suspense and piquant lives, loves, and destinies of the protagonists the author tell an arresting and alluring tale, part of a series, that I can highly recommend.

Love all her books! I want more lol
Secrets at Cedar Cabin was the first book I have read by Colleen Coble but it won’t be the last! It is a thrilling, fast-paced novel that fans of romantic suspense will enjoy. It kept me guessing throughout the novel, and the mastermind behind everything was not who I had expected. The novel deals with the issue of human trafficking and the dangers of young women meeting men online who seem charismatic but are actually very dangerous. I would recommend readers to read the first two books in the series prior to reading Secrets at Cedar Cabin to get a better idea of the backstories of several of the secondary characters in this book. Very enjoyable novel!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
If possible start with book one and read them in order. I picked this one up not having read the first two and I feel I might have enjoyed it more had I have read the first two books of the series. I like how CC does not sugar coat the sex trafficking business or how someone with dementia acts. Both are horrible, but real issues and she describes them realistically. The romance in this story was lacking, the chemistry just wasn’t felt, but the mystery and suspense was pretty good. Over all Secrets At Cedar Cabin was an okay read for me. It was not great, but it wasn’t awful, just the middle of the road 3 star novel. I received a complimentary digital copy from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley.
I am a long time fan of Colleen Coble and loved this book as much as her others I have read!
This one is book 3 in the Lavender Tides series. Got to meet back up with characters from the previous two books. Fast paced suspense story with romance thrown in. Gotta have romance, right? Yes!
Bailey Fleming has moved around her entire life and never really knew why. Raised by her mother, she never knew her dad, or even who he was. She had no family other than her mom. After her mother is murdered and an attempt made on Bailey’s own life, she escaped with her Savannah cat. I loved learning about the Savannah! Bailey runs to a cabin in Lavender Tides. You’ll have to read this book to discover how she came to live in the cabin.
Lance pretends to be a friendly neighbor who wants to help with repairs to Bailey’s cabin, but he is really a FBI agent watching her. Of course, that secret is short lived and romance buds.
Killers are still after Bailey, and who to better guard her but a FBI agent?
There is sex trafficking in the story, and Lance suspects his sister who disappeared several years earlier after an argument with their parents has been taken and is in the trade. Somehow, it all is connected with the cabin and previous owner of the cabin Bailey is living in.
I was not able to figure out who the ‘kingpin’ was of the operation, and when revealed, it was a huge surprise to me. Love that about Colleen Coble.
I also liked that the story was all wrapped up by the end of the novel. No loose ends. Kudos to Colleen Coble!

Colleen Coble’s newest novel, Secrets at Cedar Cabin, was so infused with intrigue and suspense, that I found it very much unputdownable.
While I’m not normally a huge fan of multiple points of view, but I thought that Coble executed the POV’s with much skill and I was able to see that they all connected somehow. Along that same line, I also don’t normally enjoy seeing things from the “bad guy’s” perspective, but once again, Coble made it work and I didn’t know what was behind it all until the last chapters.
I’ve often found that, in suspense stories, even if they are Christian, there really isn’t much of a mention of faith. That was different in this book. While it wasn’t overflowing with mentions of God and faith, I enjoyed seeing how the characters learned to rely on God in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Last, but not least, I loved the theme of truth woven throughout the story. I loved seeing how Bailey slowly learned to trust people again and it all really reminded me that, while we may not think our actions have consequences, even the smallest of lies can affect someone.
All in all, this was a wonderful story and I definitely recommend it to anyone.

As always Colleen writes a great book. Her books are fun. She does a wonderful job of inviting you into the lives of her characters, so they almost become friends.
Once again Colleen Coble has delivered a page-turning, can’t-put-down suspense thriller with Secrets at Cedar Cabin! I vowed I’d read it slowly over several nights before going to bed. The story wouldn’t wait — I HAD to finish it!
3.5 Stars
In the third and final Lavender Tides novel, Colleen Coble brings a missing person back to town. Of course, she doesn’t realize she’s missing. I admit, I was skeptical at first about the odds of this particular person ending up in the small town where people happen to be looking for her, but Coble manages to tie all of the connections together as the story progresses.
There’s a ton happening in Secrets at Cedar Cabin—missing persons, Bailey’s connection to the residents, dead bodies, and an FBI investigation into a sex trafficking ring. With all of the story lines, there are multiple points of view which, at times, are a big convoluted. If you haven’t read the first two books, I imagine this would be even more confusing. I highly suggest starting with The View from Rainshadow Bay and The House at Saltwater Point, so you have a feel for everyone.
That said, Bailey is a great character that I cheered for. Despite her circumstances, she’s ready and willing to assist her new neighbors, she’s industrious and brave when she’s put on the spot, and open to exploring the truths she uncovers in Lavender Tides. How could FBI agent Lance Phoenix not be drawn to her?
The story climbs steadily to the climax that pays off with the intrigue, action, and answers you’ve been waiting for.

Colleen Coble is a highly acclaimed romantic suspense author. With Secrets at Cedar Cabin, Coble dives back into the world of the missing siblings. This time, I received the story of Bailey, the baby of the family. I learn just at the same time as Bailey does about what happened to her at the beginning of the story. This story touched and dived into the world of human trafficking. This is a horrible topic, but a harsh, disgusting reality in our world today. The story does move pretty fast. It does have moments of rush and calm to it. In my personal opinion, I believe there is more calm than the rush of a typical suspense novel. The story was well-written and kept my attention because I wanted to see how the story ended, but I wish for more suspense. Overall, Secrets at Cedar Cabin does explain the final clues to the missing siblings, and the human trafficking was interesting, but the story didn’t flow like a suspense novel with non-stop action. I believe fans of Coble’s previous writings, Lynette Eason, and DiAnn Mills would enjoy this novel.
I received a complimentary copy of Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble from Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
SECRETS AT CEDAR CABIN Colleen Coble
Bailey being a nurse for the elderly were a family of her heart. A love she had given to a man that turned out he was a bigamist. Then the sheriff coming and telling her, her mother had been shot. Olivia had been a love of King, but he would not leave his wife and the empire he ran was in her name. The daughter Bailey now must be eliminated, secrets had to be keep hidden.
A note left from her mother, telling her to go into hiding, trust no one, is this why they moved so much. The deed Kyle had given her, but why was it in her mother’s home town of Lavender Tide. She had like Kyle and was happy to see Bailey married. The cabin had bulky furniture in it, and dusty, neighbor said iit was owned by a holding company. Was Kyle also into something illegal. Questions are many, why was a killer after her, a mother murdered.
An unexpected tip leds them to this cabin, and Bailey one can tell is scared
Lance has spent five years looking for his sister Ava.kidnapped into human trafficking .Was this the cabin they had been using . Can be read as a stand alone, the others in the series do tie it all together.
Given ARC by Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Secrets at Cedar Cabin is the third novel in Colleen Coble’s Lavendar Tides series. Bailey Fleming is an RN working with geriatric patients. Her mother, Olivia, has spent her life working as a paramedic when she wasn’t on the run. But it seems her past has caught up with her when she is found murdered gangster style. The message she leaves Bailey is to run, and when an unknown assailant starts shooting, she grabs what she can and is herself on the run.
After a brief false marriage to rock star Kyle Bearcroft he gave her the deed to a property on the other side of the continent from her home in Rock Harbor, Michigan. As she flees she makes this her destination with the hopes she will be able to start over safely. Upon arrival, Bailey is able to make new acquaintances and find part time employment. But when FBI agents Lance Phoenix and Daniel Atkinson find her at a cabin that had been a focus of their underworld investigation, they devise a plan to discover who she is and what she knows.
The primary focus of Lance and Daniel’s investigation is a female trafficking ring. Every time they get close to the kingpin an obstacle is presented. With Lance’s vested interest in finding his missing sister Ava, he becomes more desperate to close the ring and rescue Ava. However, they have no idea of the depth of the ring’s scope and how many people will be affected by the investigation.
As with each book in this series, indeed each novel by Ms. Coble that I have read, this book is a masterfully designed thriller that will not give up its secrets until almost the end. The interwoven stories that tie into the first two books bring the deeper plot full circle. This page turner is another special mystery by Colleen Coble and I do recommend it!

Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble is a wonderful follow-up in the Lavender Tides Series. Oh MY! It is such a good suspenseful thriller! If you have not read the previous books in the Lavender Tides series, The View from Rainshadow Bay and The House at Saltwater Point you may feel a bit adrift with so many wonderful characters interacting and revealing previous secrets and mysteries. As I read Secrets at Cedar Cabin, it was as if I was meeting with a familiar community of friends as the stories unfold. The theme of family, friends, secrets, and the harrowing crime of human trafficking comes together to break your heart and unleash your faith. I won’t post spoilers, but I just could not stop reading once I started the book.
Bailey Fleming has had many disappointments in her life. She gives her love and care to geriatric nursing and makes a connection with her memory impaired patients. One day her mother is murdered execution style. When she goes into her mother’s house to look for answers or clues, she finds much more than she could ever believe. A letter from her mother, a large sum of money and a warning for her to escape immediately are waiting for her to find. This puts Bailey on the run with many questions about her mother. Who could be after her now and want her dead? What did her mother do?
An extremely good story to bring all the people of Lavender Tides together.!
Publication Date: January 22, 2019; Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Colleen Coble’s 3rd book in the Lavender Tides series drew me in from the very first pages. Bailey’s story was full of mystery and suspense, of course, but it also tugged at my heart as I watched her struggle to figure out why she never felt like she belonged. Mrs. Coble connects Bailey’s story seamlessly with the first two and includes plenty of action, drama and that touch of romance I enjoy. Highly recommend both this book and the series!
This third novel in Coble’s ‘Lavender Tides’ series is so good! She picks up on a thread in the first two books and continues it here. Bailey Fleming finds herself running for her life after very suspicious circumstances descend on her life. Her mother has lied about her identity and her husband was definitely not who she thought he was. Bailey is afraid to trust anyone. She goes to a cabin whose deed she’s been given, not knowing a thing about the area. Bodies are discovered there soon afterwards and the cabin has been used in a dangerous human trafficking ring.
FBI agent Lance Phoenix is investigating the crimes and soon decides to protect Bailey from whoever is trying to kill her. He is also determined to rescue his sister who has been abducted after running away from home as a teen. He suspects she has been lured into the human trafficking ring.
Coble hits the ground running here, with enough mystery and suspense to satisfy every reader. I was completely captivated from the beginning. I love Coble’s Rock Harbor series and this one starts out there, but quickly moves to Lavender Tides. In my opinion, this is some of Colleen Coble’s very best work! I enjoyed every single bit of this one. Highly recommended.

In an unlikely partnership with FBI agent Lance Phoenix, Bailey races to understand the mystery surrounding her life and circumstances before the murderer tracks her down.

An unexpected lead brings him to the remote cabin, and he wonders if Bailey—with her suspicious past and strange connections to his sister’s case—is really who she claims to be and if she can somehow lead him to Ava.
This is the third book in the A Lavender Tides series. It’s not necessary to read the first two books to read this book. But they are great books and tell the background for this story. This is a great conclusion to the series. In great Ms. Coble style there is lots of suspense clear to the end of the book. I highly recommend that you read all three books in this series.
I was given this book by Thomas Nelson via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
