A gripping story of redemption, forgiveness and new beginnings“SECRETS AND SACRIFICE” is Book 4 in the highly acclaimed “Shadows Series” books, but can also be read as a stand-alone novel. When Grace O’Connor arrives in the Scottish Highlands, she’s hiding a secret and trailing more baggage than she cares to admit. Grace’s sister, Brianna, has a history linked to Grace’s secret. There, amongst the … linked to Grace’s secret.
There, amongst the rugged Scottish Highlands and a community of caring, loving Christians, Grace meets the handsome Ryan MacGregor, an ex-military Paratrooper with a history of his own.

A Christian romance including real-life challenges, and a storyline to touch reader’s hearts and draw them closer to God.
“You have done it again!! This book was absolutely perfect!! The story kept me interested, there was just enough romance in it. The story flowed flawlessly!!!” Jama C
The story is beautiful, everything flows well and the characters all come to life in their own way. Not once was I at a point that I felt I wanted to just scan a section as to get on with the book, I really wanted to read every word. As always, your story has romance that is beautiful and clean and yet everything is still exciting and one can connect with the characters and the setting. Deidre V
Loved the story a lot, kept me riveted, could not put it down until I finished in one sitting. Vickie R

Meeting Grace in Beyond the Shadows really piqued my interest in her. I was beyond thrilled to find out that this book is dedicated to her. There were wonderful times in this book, lots of learning, hard choices, and trusting in God.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Love it!
Really liked this book. It is always best to face those secrets, even if it is horrifying.
Difficult to “get into”. I’m at 65% (several days ago) and still haven’t had enthusiasm to finish reading.
She is a wonderful Christian author. I look forward to reading more of her books
I recommend this novel. I thought I would read a little at a time, but couldn’t put it down. Great story. Great words to help people struggling with trouble.
In the beginning of this book, sisters, Grace and Brianna, are portrayed as depressed and generally gloomy most of the time. As details are revealed about their childhood spent with an unloving aunt and cousins, it is easy to understand why the world to them would look dark and uncaring. In spite of the difficult childhood, Grace becomes a successful barrister in Ireland while younger sister Brianna became addicted to drugs. Details explain why the two move to the Highlands of Scotland where family members live a devoted Christian lifestyle. However, the two of them find it difficult to buy into a trusting faith. Grace finally has the courage to share the trauma and guilt from her youth with Ryan MacGregor who is also involved in the Christian community with her and Brianna’s family. The thread of story becomes focused on whether or not there will ever be an acceptance of the Christian faith and how can Grace’s past mistake be resolved and Brianna’s addiction and past injuries be healed. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I cannot say that I “could not put the book down” (as I always do with a Lynn Austin book), but I am glad that I read the book and will look for other books by this author.
this book is beautiful. it’s full of bad and nice events, like the life is.
with tears, laugh and think about important life things, I know you’ll read fast this book.
Grace and Brianna, the main charachters, are very strong ladies.
when you finish the book, you sure miss them!
One of the best books I read this year.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was entertaining and weaved the story of redemption through Jesus throughout! Any reader not knowing the plan of salvation would intriguingly learn of its power and yet simplicity simply by reading this powerful yet entertaining story.
Thank you so much. To God be the glory!!
This book with its realistic circumstances and flawed, normal, believable characters was an absolute joy to read. It presents the story of a family whose members have endured unbelievable hardship. Some have faced their circumstances with bitterness and others have worked through the struggles and found joy in spite of their difficulties. You must read this book all the way to the end to see the beauty of redemption. I so thoroughly enjoyed this book that I had to purchase the ones that came before it and have equally enjoyed the entire series. Well done!
Great read! A little of everything! Suspense, secrets, romance, spiritual!
This was an enjoyable read but it did take me a little to get into the storyline. A great read of the redemptive grace of God and the family dynamics involved with a family member who has an addiction. A beautiful story of a sister who wouldn’t give on her sister who had struggled with addiction for many years.
Well done
Beautiful
This is a wonderful story of overcoming bad things in their lives with the help of God and family. Brianna has to deal with her rape & loss of her child, Grace was her only support till her brothers came to assist, but they didn’t know about the rape. Their older brother runs a out reach program. Brianna finds peace, Grace finds forgiveness & new love.
very good
I enjoyed it.
This is great writing! It is about real healing GOD does in people’s lives. Christ really is the ultimate healer & the One that saves us from guilt as his cleansing is thorough & changes us from the inside out.
I loved this book. It was my first time reading a book by Juliette Duncan and I am hooked. The story was a beautiful romance yet it had so much more. The best part is that it is Christ centered and spreads the gospel. Love, love, loved it!
A little too preachy for me. I believe God can change us if we let him but I thought the characters were a little too goody goody
