First off, I just have to say that I think this might be one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense covers. I love the cabin back by tall mountains with that lightning dancing overhead, and OK, the horses are a nice touch, too.
As to the story, Terri Reed is up there on my list of favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors so I knew I was in for some good romantic suspense reading when I picked up Secret Mountain Hideout. I was not disappointed! Lots of danger, romance, and some pretty nice Colorado scenery.
I enjoyed my jaunt back to Bristle Township with Terri Reed’s characters and I sincerely hope there will be more adventures in that locale in the future. But for now I’ll just appreciate Secret Mountain Hideout and tell you to check it out for yourself.
(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)
I love Terri’s books, and this sure did not disappoint. The twists and turns of danger was just captivating. I read it in one evening, I couldn’t put it down. Then a couple of days later, I reread it. Anyone that reads it will be absolutely pleased. Draws you right in with the characters, and keeps you there.
This book was really a thriller for me! I hardly put it down from the moment I began reading it. One of the reasons is because it was so realistic. Sometimes, in Christian Fiction, lawmen have to shoot someone but they rarely take a life even though the circumstances are such that they have to. In this book, the author shows that Chase, a sheriff’s deputy is put in a situation where he has to take a life in order to save someone and then deal with the feelings afterwards and I really applaud that! There are Christian lawmen who have to do such things and I appreciated the sensitive way the author wrote it. It was realistic and important. Needless to say, the whole book was full of tons of action as Ashley is running from a mobster because she has seen something she shouldn’t have seen and she’s on the run but they keep finding her! Her feelings and actions are also very realistic. She can’t believe that Chase, and the other law enforcement people in the small town would do everything in their power to help her! She’s never been supported like that. These feelings of friendship and caring are another reason I liked the book. A definite high recommendation from me!
I really enjoyed this romantic suspense. There is a lot of action and this story pulled me in from the beginning. I read late into the morning several days. I voluntarily chose to review this and I’ve given it a 5* rating. The hero and the heroine both blamed themselves for not being able to stay safe. Horse lovers might enjoy this a little bit too.Lots to enjoy and be inspired by. A real nice surprise at the end. I really enjoy this author’s work.
A witness to a murder has gone into hiding, but is found and now must run for her life. A small town deputy wants to help her. Together they must stay ahead of those wanting her dead and her mouth closed.
Terri Reed is a new to me author, but I enjoy suspense, so I decided to try her writing out. Don’t miss this chance to get your heart racing as this book plays out.
*My thanks to the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion here is entirely my own.
She witnessed a murder and had to run for her life. The manager of the restaurant where she worked helped her escape. He gave her a fake ID and some money. She ran out of money in Bristle Township,Colorado. To make ends meet she got a job at the coffee shop, Java Bean in town. She knew she should be moving on but she just couldn’t make herself leave this town and the freiends she had made there. But somehow Maksim Sokolov, the owner of the restaurant where she worked and witnessed him murdering a man in the alley behind the restaurant when she was outside taking care of the garbage had found her location. Ashley knew that she couldn’t hesitate and the time to leave town and find a new place to hide was now but Deputy Sheriff Chase Fredrick prevented her from getting on the bus leaving town. Ashley was attracted to Chase and would have loved to get to know him better but she needed to leave town. Now! He didn’t understand the circumstances and yet he promised to protect her.
Chase has fallen for Jane Thompson, or as it turns out, Ashley Willis, her real name. He is sticking with her to protect her no matter what. As are all the members of the Bristle Township Sheriff’s Department determined to keep Ashley safe. Can they keep her safe so she can testify against Sokolov? What will it take to keep her safe?
Secret Mountain Hideout by Terri Reed follows the characters of Bristle Township who were introduced in Buried Mountain Secrets. This is a real page-turner of a suspense story complete with lots of action and gunfire. The plot rolls along at a great pace. Terri Reed has written a very satisfying suspense story. I like the unity of the sheriff’s department and the determination of all the officers, not just Chase, to keep Ashley safe. This author is a superb storyteller. Her readers are really going to love this book.
