Matt Morgan…. the baby of the Morgan men. Or should I say the youngest, because there’s nothing baby about Matt Morgan. He’s all Man. And like the other Morgan men, Matt has his own story to tell. He’s the actor in the family and needs a regular, non famous woman hanging on his arm. At least, that’s what his publicist tells him. So, we now have Matt looking for ‘normal’ to create a realistic, but fake, girlfriend to attract more visibility. He’s the lead actor in a movie role featuring his rock star bother, Axel ( of Secret Bridesmaid fame). And we all know how publicity can boost sales.
So we have Matt meeting Ashley, a normal girl who already knows Matt and has crushed on him for a long time. Problem is he doesn’t know her, let alone remember meeting her way back then, back when she was a maid at a home where he was a guest. How can Ashley resist? Fake or real, she wants to be with Matthew Morgan. After all, this just could be her Cinderella moment.
Victoria Pinder doesn’t disappoint with her newest House of Morgan story. She’s created a series built on love, romance and emotion. If you haven’t read Secret Bridesmaid, you’ll want to. After all, Matt will be starring as Axel in this book.
I have read several of Victoria Pinder books and was very appreciative when provided an ARC of this latest one. I’ve yet to read one of her House of Morgan books and not enjoyed it. It’s a great series.
This delightful adult tale of a maid pursuing her dream takes about a day to read. I received an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Secret Mistress is the story of Matt Morgan, a Hollywood star, and Ashley Romero, Jennifer’s cousin. Ashley has a complicated history with Matt’s brother Peter and his fiancee, as well as her cousin and moves to California to work for Jennifer on set.
Secret Mistress is a stand-alone book but I highly recommend reading the series in order. Each character appears in several books and it may be difficult to follow all the intricate plots if read out of order and spoilers could mar the reader’s enjoyment.
This novel is a clean romance and one I will enjoy re-reading sometime in the future. Victoria Pinder has an active imagination and her plots twists keep her readers interested as more House of Morgan books unfold.
Secret Mistress, my 48th read from prolific author Victoria Pinder, the fifteenth in The House of Morgan series. I’m hooked on the House of Morgan like a soap opera. Another good read I went through in a matter of hours. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Great characters. Great story. Thank you.
This author has the most wonderful books! They have it all I really enjoy the Morgan family no matter what branch, finding out you are someone else is hard. When you get a chance to maybe get your dreams come true you once again get thrown a curve ball. This story is about how you decide what is best for you. Thank you Ms. Pinder.
a very good story I was given a copy of ;the book but this is an honest reveiw if you have read any of the other books you will like this one
I liked this story of an ex maid and an actor. Matt Is part of the Morgan clan, Ashley was a maid for his sister then a surrogate mother for Peter and Belle. Ashley decides to fly to California and ask for Jennifer’s help, uh oh, so she can get to meet Matt. Ashley somehow gets caught in a tug of war between Morgan’s and Jennifer, she will need to draw on inner strength to get through it. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Another great read by Victoria Pinder who once again brings an entertaining story with strong well developed characters. The fifteenth book in the series brings Matt and Ashley’s story. She does a great job developing the story and pulling you in with a few twists,a bit of drama and a sweet romance. I enjoyed reading and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A great story
The characters were so great and the chemistry between the two main characters was scorching hot.
This book was filled with action, suspense, intrigue and twists and turns with a great ending.
I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.
I was given an Advanced Readers Copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
Ashley hopes. Matthew plans. But their dreams don’t seem to mess. Once again, Jennifer puts in a minor diabolical appearance. Emotions run high.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I jumped right into the series with this book, and I love that even though I haven’t read any of the other books, I didn’t feel lost or like I missed a huge part of what was going on. Many books in a series say they are stand alone, but there is still that feeling of missing out, and I didn’t get that here.
I want to say the book itself was like one of the greatest telenovelas come to life, but I guess it would actually be the greatest telenovela put on paper? I loved the drama, as if I were smack dab in the middle of a daytime soap. Can’t wait to get the rest of the series and start from the beginning.
I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another great story of the Morgan Series. This time the famous and handsome Matthew finds an ‘every-day’ girl in the breakroom on set minutes after his agent tells him he needs to be seen and photographed by a woman who is not fake, not a movie star or a model. That woman he proposes a fake relationship with turns out to have just flown from Miami to work for her movie star cousin on the same set in hopes of meeting Matthew who she has been in love with for a year. Ashley’s back story: her cousin convinced her to be a surrogate for her but was really impregnated with Peter Morgan and Belle’s fertilized egg while she worked as a maid for the Morgan sister Elizabeth and was invisible to Matt as she did his laundry, cooked his breakfast, etc. while he visited his sister. Meanwhile, her cousin, Jennifer, has had Anthony Morgan’s child and Morgan lawyers have everybody ensnarled under contract. But Ashley only wants Matt to love her. But Matt has never loved anyone because he has never been loved. Secret Mistress is a very good read, even better if you’ve read other Morgan stories!
The fifteenth book in The House of Morgan series a well written story that held my interest throughout. This is Matt Morgan a top movie star and Ashley Romero’s story a very good addition to this series. A very good storyline with the story flowing smoothly from page to page. I hope there is more to come in this series. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
A great addition to the House of Morgan series. Beware once you start reading you’ll find this book hard to put down. Ashley had been in love with Matthew for a long time and he didn’t even know she existed. Lots of drama, twists, and surprises to the story. A manipulative cousin, a surrogate, a baby dilemma, a custody battle, secrets galore, stolen DNA, a potential Oscar-winning actor, and lots of family dynamics on both sides. Their chemistry was off the charts and they were perfect for each other. Well-developed, likable characters and an entertaining story. No cliff hanger and a HEA. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
The wonderfully written storyline captivated me from the very beginning and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that I was totally engaged as I turned each and every page until the very end!
