✓ Ages 7-12 ✓ Chapter Book ✓ Short Attention Spans ✓ Funny My name is Evie Everyday and I’m a witch. But all I’ve ever wanted is to be normal. So when I get the chance to go to a regular school and be a regular girl I’ll do anything to fit in. Anything! Fitting in is easy. All I have to do is:
Keep my magic a secret
Swap my favorite colorful clothes for boring black ones
Suck up to scary … secret
And stay away from Izzy. She’s all colorful and funny and awesome…. and not helpful for fitting in.

“Secret Magic (Evie Everyday Witch Book 1) by Elena Paige is a seriously good book for younger children. Not only is it a good story, but it is also written in very easy to understand language and is helped along by the addition of illustrations, useful in truly bringing the story to life.”

Cute story about a likeable if naive and slightly ditzy girl who had to learn the hard way that sometimes what you think you want isn’t really what you want at all. Strong positive message without being preachy. It did have the absentee/oblivious parents that seem so ubiquitous in this type of story.
The illustrations were adorable!
kids verdict – it was funny! The girls commented on the crazy fashion and cute pets, the boys talked about the monster and bits of potty humor. Everyone thought Izzy was a super way good friend to keep sticking around with how much of a pill Evie was being. We made bat glasses and kitty journals – some of the things the kids pretended they saw with their magic glasses was hysterical! Love a book that gets their imagination going.
Evie has always wanted to be normal but she is a witch. She gets the opportunity to go to a normal school and feels this is her opportunity to fit in. She changes her clothes, and does everything she can to fit in. Until one day she is needed to be the witch she is.
This is a chapter book for children. It is an amazing book that is sure to capture the imagination of school aged children and encourage reading. The illustrations are fun and interesting. The characters are chalked full of personality making them relatable. The situations they get into are humerus and creative drawing the reader into the story. It has a great message about being yourself and accepting who you are. It also shows strength of character and how being popular is not the most important thing. Using your skills and talents are far more important. This book has what it takes to be a great chapter book for children, interesting, creative, fun and with a great message.

Cute story about a young witch who just wants to be normal. Simple, cute illustrations add charm to the chapters. Easy to read, flowing sentences to make this a great book for young readers.
I had so much fun reading this book. I love Middle Grade, Young Adult and Children’s books. I also love any book about magic and witches. I don’t want to give to much away so grab this book series and read it to your children and discuss it. I have a feeling children will absolutely love the book.

Cute quick read.

Have you ever been the only new kid in class and felt like you really didn’t fit in? To make matters worse, at your previous school everyone was super competitive, and you weren’t? Evie, the new girl, would do just about anything to blend in. Just be normal for once.
Is normal even possible for a sixth grader and a witch? We will find out as Evie makes her way through the school days and each one becomes weirder than the last.
A very enjoyable quick read, full of magic, and preteen angst. There is a happy ever after ending which brings with it some good advice by the kids for themselves.

Friendship is a powerful magic, but the most potent magic is being her own true self.
Evie the Everyday Witch has to go through a series of dark and dangerous adventures to recall that – and a fun adventure ensues, together with her new friend Izzy.
