JuneHow could I resist him?Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t.Those beautiful blue eyes, as clear as the sky, boring into mine.It had been eight years since I escaped my hometown.I’d turned my back on that part of my life.Tried to forget as best as I could. My career was my life and that’s how I wanted it to be.That was until life decided that it wasn’t done with me yet.It sent him to me.My high … with me yet.
It sent him to me.
My high school sweetheart.
The boy I’d left behind.
Only, he wasn’t a boy anymore.
He was a man now—and one of the richest men in America to boot.
And he just happened to walk into my law firm.
How was I going to survive when my past was coming back to haunt me?
Tyler
I didn’t realize I’d been searching for the girl who broke my heart.
Not until I found her, at least.
When I laid eyes on her, it was like my whole world shifted sideways.
She was still as stunning as the day she’d left me behind, all those years ago.
In an instant, everything changed.
The wind was knocked out of me.
Life had been going so smoothly for me.
I had more money than I knew what to do with.
I had women throwing themselves at me left and right.
I had property, cars, and plenty of time to do whatever I pleased.
And yet, the only thing I could think about was how perfect she was.
And how happy I was to have her back in my life.

This is a good story with good characters. This is a good story showing people do change after high school. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is a good read!

I liked Stella and Ty’s story. Stella had a lot to get through from her past and her present in order to get to the future with Ty. I was a bit disappointed in the sexy scenes as there was only one and it wasn’t a full scene as it was cut short. It’s hinted at that they were intimate. I liked how Ty helped Stella finally accept his help and in then accept him as well.

A sweet romantic love story
I have read many books by this author and given many five star reviews…while I thoroughly enjoyed this book there was something just a bit off for me. I have to admit that I enjoy stories that take us back to the most tumultuous time in our lives…high school. Why is it, we can’t Let that period of our lives go? So I totally loved that part of the story..it’s still a really good book, smart, super sexy with engaging characters but just fell short of for me.

We all need a bit of help from time to time.
June left home after being accepted to Miami Dade University, she wanted nothing more than to be as far away from her hometown as possible. She had been working for a law firm for a few years when she was told about a new, potential client that could make the company a lot of money. Little did she know her past was about to catch up to her and turn her life upside down rather quickly, whether she liked it or not.
Ty left his hometown after he became more successful in flipping houses. He had been great at what he did in multiple states especially L.A. but he had enough of it and decided to move to Miami. In search of a new law firm to handle his business he met with the partners of PPH, the biggest and best firms in Miami but he wasn’t expecting the shy girl, hiding in the corner, refusing to look anywhere but the floor to be the girl that drove off, leaving him behind 8 years ago.
Stella (June) and Ty were two adults who both needed to mature in order to have a relationship and hopefully find their HEA. Stella who was bullied and ostracized as a child blamed everything wrong in her life on someone else. Ty who is rich as an adult thought he could buy everything. However the two women who had been thrown out of his house weren’t even given bus fare! The characters were strong but not very likable in the beginning. Good read!

Where to begin? I was frustrated by the characters in this book. Why? Because I was emotionally into the book. It flowed quickly and I finished it in a couple of days because I couldn’t put it down. But OMG. Both June and Ty were so frustratingly immature and stubborn at times, it made me want to slap some sense into them. June and Ty were both high school sweethearts that wanted to run away from their small town as quickly as possible. June left for college and never looked back. She left everything and didn’t contact anyone. She protected herself from everyone and didn’t make any friends. She kept working hard after law school as a paralegal, but really didn’t make any meaningful connections. Ty also left home shortly afterwards and made a name for himself by flipping real estate. Suddenly, he shows up in Miami looking for a law firm to help him with his real estate contracts and walks right into June’s office and into her life. Ty is pretty shallow and June is stubborn. They are together but never really on the same page until the end of the book which wraps up very quickly after they suddenly come to their senses and admit they love each other.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.
