Top 100 Amazon Bestselling Series“I don’t care if it’s complicated. I want you, and when I want something, I fight for it…” – Jon AlcottI didn’t plan to fall in love with my new boss. He needed a date for his best friend’s wedding and I was so grateful for my new job that I agreed to it. Yeah, he was the hottest guy I had ever laid eyes on, and his dark, piercing stare made my knees weak, but … made my knees weak, but it wasn’t like we were really dating. It was just for pretend…
Until it wasn’t…
The lines got blurred.
I was in his arms, and we weren’t pretending.
His touch made my pulse race.
His kiss set my heart on fire.
And one secret indiscretion led to another…
It was a scandal waiting to happen, and we were in over our heads before we even realized it.
A full length emotional standalone with suspense, steam, and a HEA.

This thrilling story is engaging and will have you on the edge of your seat to see who the culprit is. Melanie and Jon meet when she is introduced to him by her friend Taylor who is getting married. Their relationship heats up when Jon ask her to Taylor’s wedding as his date. In the mean time someone has started up the Carnation Club to create a ploy that could be dangerous to the ones receiving the notes. Will Jon become a victim along with Melanie? I voluntarily agreed to receive an AERC of this book for an honest review.
Left Me Longing for Something More… After the action packed intrigue of “Forbidden Kiss” I was excited for Kelli Callahan’s second, Carson Cove Scandals, series installment. But sadly “Secret Indiscretions” did not even come close to the level of Dynasty laced, 007 machinations of the first book. In fact this book was sadly tame in comparison.
I grant you, with “Secret Indiscretions” Callahan does a MUCH better job fleshing out the characters and the overall progression of the two protagonists, Jon and Melanie. Who, unlike Bryant and Taylor from the first book, are afforded a more complete, more natural, and more relatable relationship progression. These two are allowed to explore themselves, what they want, and who they are, both to each other, and as individuals, in a way Bryant and Taylor weren’t. And it was glorious! However, despite singing for joy at the broadened character development I couldn’t help but feel it was at the cost of some of the nail biting emotions of the first.
Yes Jackson’s arrival and the potential consequences to Melanie and subsequent reaction by Jon is almost heart pounding, but it falls flat. Yes, the Devereaux connection twist has eye popping potential, but it stops short. And as with the first book, I was again left with a longing for something more.
To be honest it’s a bit maddening because I really do love these characters and the larger Carson Cove concept! However, here again I felt there were gaps in understanding and would have loved to see a more expansive view of the overall plot. Another chapter interweaving a bit more detail on the reactions to the Devereaux connection. A few more paragraphs throughout expanding Jon’s growing connection with Charley. A larger inclusion of details defining Jackson’s outcome. All of which would have lead to a much clearer understanding of Jon’s ending declarations to Melanie, and would have definitely made a more coherent ending to the Jackson dynamic.
It’s frustrating because I genuinely like these characters and the overall plot framework of the series. But the book feels rushed and incomplete. And it honestly really bugs me because with a few tweaks, expansions, and typo/word omission fixes, this book (as with the first) would go from a great concept but an ok read, to a great concept and a must read!
She needs a job and he needs a date……….but they end up with so much more!!!
Secret Indiscretions is the second book in the Carson Cove Scandals series by Kelli Callahan and she has done it again with this book. The story of Melanie and Jon was completely engaging and drew me in. These two have all sorts of things happening around them in their lives but yet they are drawn to each other, which makes their lives more complicated but yet they find something within each other that helps them. Plus there is a lot really hot and sizzling chemistry that results in some fantastic sex taking place!!!
This is a great second book in the Carson Cove Scandals series. I am looking forward to reading the next!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

The suspense, drama and scandals never seem to end in Carson Cove but then what would you expect from a place filled with the weathiest that cant seem to keep the skeletons falling out off their cupboards.
In Secret Indiscretions we meet Jon and Melanie who we met in Forbidden Kiss. This is a older man younger woman romance filled with steamy scenes and the chemistry is just woohooo.
Jon has been wallowing in pity and drinking since his wife left him which almost cost him losing his company. But one look at Melanie and he starts feeling things that he never even felt for his ex wife….but there is someone that wants Jon and has revived a game that was played in high school and she will not stop until Jon is hers…..ohh the suspense will have you sitting on the edge of your seats

Carson Cove is really heating up
Carson Cove is the place to be! There’s romance, love, lust, steam, intrigue, lies and underhanded deeds. This is better than TV. Melanie and Jon’s story pulled me in from the beginning. I couldn’t wait to see how it all played out. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Carson Cove.
Interesting romantic suspense and drama
—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 star – A lot is going on in this story of an older man and younger woman: Exes to avoid, children, loved ones who depend on them, and their attraction to each other to name a few. Jon makes Melanie a proposal for a job position at his company and also asks for her to accompany him to their mutual friends’ wedding. This kills two birds with one stone, but Jon is definitely not ready to let her go after that arrangement. Lots of past drama is dug up starting with Melanie’s ex, and the tests are yet to come as the Carnation Club resurfaces as well as suspense throughout as the culprit’s antics slowly escalate.
What an awesome suspenseful romance!!!
Melanie is just trying to find a job that will support her and her daughter when she graduates from college. Jon is CEO of Alcott Inc. and the instant he sees Melanie, he wants her. But he doesn’t think she feels the same way, which is definitely wrong because Melanie is feeling a certain chemistry as well. Unfortunately there is someone else vying for Jon’s heart and she is completely infatuated with him to the point of it being an unhealthy obsession. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

Melanie is about to graduate from college and still hasn’t found a job that utilizes her degree. Her friend Taylor is having her engagement party and wants to introduce Melanie around so she can network. All Melanie wants to do is go home. When she is introduce to Jon Alcott sparks fly between them but Melanie feels weird talking about work during the party. Jon is intrigued by her and doesn’t mind interviewing her right then. They both end up going home on their own but exchanged numbers. When Melanie shows up to meet Jon again he offers her a job but he also asks that she be his date for the wedding. He doesn’t want to go alone when his ex is coming with someone. Jon keeps getting weird messages that he is investigating and Melanie’s ex is back and wants to get custody of their daughter. Will they be able to have something together with all the secrets between them? Can Jon find out who is sending the messages?
This is a great story and it will draw you in from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was the perfect romance and suspense novel. Jon and Melanie had super hot chemistry! Kelli Callahan outdone herself with this one! Melanie is a college student getting ready to graduate soon. She meets Jon Alcott at a party to celebrate her friend’s engagement. Jon was at the bar and down and out because he has had a streak of bad luck lately. First, his wife filed for divorce and took custody of their kids then someone tried to sabotage his company. Melanie was star struck when she laid eyes on Jon. She needed a job after college and she discussed with him the fact that she had applied a few months ago and no one had gotten back with her. Jon took her number and said he would get back to her, but made no promises. What turned out to be a job offer and a date turned into so much more. But scandal was waiting just around the corner.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Melanie Monroe and Jon Alcott. Melanie had dreams that would take her place. But she fell for her high school boyfriend and while he went off to play college football she was left with a piece of him that no one wanted to come to light. Melanie knows working as a waitress will get not only her and her daughter but her mother as well a roof over their heads she needs college. The only one she could afford after life kicked her was Carson Cove University. She was going to be an art major until she realized that also wouldn’t take her where she needed to go in life but did meet a person who would become a close friend Taylor who we met in Forbidden Kiss. All she needs is a break now and at Taylor’s engagement party she might just have gotten one but will it be the one she wants? Jon is sick of how his life is going. He is not happy that he had to have his friend buy his company just so there was a chance he could get it back after his divorce. He is not happy that his daughters don’t want much to do with him, and he is really not happy his ex is bringing a date to he friends wedding but the woman he was hoping to ask just dumped him. So while sitting at the bar during said friend’s engagement party he didn’t think he would see and meet a gorgeous woman who just might be able to help him out with some of his issues. Will they become the answer to each other’s needs or are they headed down a path of disaster that has outside forces pushing to make sure it never happens?
Wowza this series just keeps getting better and better. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you all about. However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you on the edge of your seat till the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Jon, the CEO of Alcott Industries, is divorced and needs a date to his best friends wedding. Melanie needs a job after graduation and puts an application in at Alcott Industries after graduating. He needs a date and she needs a job so they find a way to make both happen. Loved the connection between Melanie and Jon and how they how after everything they go through and their age difference they are perfect together. An ex-wife, an ex-boyfriend, secrets, mystery, suspense, passion and twists that had me reading nonstop to the perfect ending make this a great read.
I like the Carson Cove Scandals series so far, and they’ve been a pleasure to read. It took me a while to finish this book, but I liked it enough. It was nice to see some overlap from the first book into this one, and see how the characters are playing out. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Please note that I did receive and ARC, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Carson Cove is full of secrets!! And most involve a older, successful man and a younger, feisty woman. This story is about Jon and Melanie, how she goes to work for him, how they try to fight their attraction to each other, how they try to keep it a secret, and what happened when those secrets come out! Fast paced, sexy read, good addition to the Carson Cove series.

A second chance romance for them both!
by sewsummore
Melanie was a single mother about to graduate college and hoping to get a new job that will mean a better future for herself and her family. When she meets Jon, CEO of Alcott Inc, she mentions this in passing hoping that it would lead to a position with his company. To her surprise he contacts her for an interview and she gets hired. There was an attraction between them that grows the more they see each other and before long it becomes much more than an attraction. Melanie deserved a a happier future with Jon but side influences make this a problem. Jon sees a new and happier future ahead of him with Melanie but a demented woman is determined to destroy both their lives. This was an engaging and inspiring second chance romance I enjoyed reading and despite their difficulties has a happier ending.

This story is about Jon and Melanie. Melanie is Taylor best friends and as Taylor is getting married, she was invited to join them at an engagement party held at her fiancee’s home/manor… Melanie also work at a restaurant while going to college but is about to finish in less than a month and is looking for a real job as she needs to support her 4 year old daughter and help her mom out as she is on disability. Jon is the CEO of his own company that was bought by Bryant due to Jon’s ugly divorce. Jon has two daughters and doesn’t ever get to see them as much as they are teens. Taylor convinces Melanie to utilize the engagement party to mingle so that she may find a job with someone there as most of them own businesses. She introduces her to Jon, but Jon is just captivated the moment he lays eyes on her. Does he offer her a job? Does the carnation club come back to do more damage as they did with Taylor and Bryant? How is Melanie related to the Devereaux? Oh, my too much to figure out – you must get the book this was is GREAT! My next question is who is next?
