Talk about a rough first meeting. When Charlie literally saves Abby from certain death and goes with her to the hospital only to be treated badly by her father. Brendan Fitzgerald had the life scared out of him when he got the call that his precious daughter Abby had been in an accident. When he got to the hospital he was so distraught that he treated Charlie poorly before he realized she was the hero that saved his baby girl. The only thing that matters in life to Brendan is his precious twins. Their mother abandoned them at birth and they are all each other have. But the girls instantly love Charlie. It’s hard for Brendan because he doesn’t ever want to get married, but the girls start talking about not having a mom and his heart breaks thinking maybe he’s not done right by them. Just as he’s getting interested in a relationship his ex comes to take his girls, events come into play that mislead him and he decides he can’t He thinks Charlie was the one until she lied to him. It was a lie by omission but nonetheless still a lie. With both of their hearts broken will they find their way back to each other.
I loved reading Second Chances of the Windsor Falls series. I’ve read the first two books in the series I loved the story behind the main characters. Past events has made life difficult for both Brendan and Charlie. Before they both realize it they’ve fallen heels in love for each other. This book is an easy read and will keep you wanting more. I’m looking forward to heading the 4th book of this series.
Third book in the series and Just as good as the others! I loved Brendan already and was happy with the way Charlie was a perfect match for him and the twins! Just enough drama to keep it interesting. Looking forward to the next one!
This book was great, so much depth to it with all the issues it covered in this book. I loved Brenden the single dad with twin girls and trying to wait to date until they are older. But, finds himself attracted to Charlotte a doctor who comes to town after coming back from Africa. She has her own problems to deal with like PTSD and trying to be with someone who is fighting you at every move even though you are not sure you are ready for this next step.
This was a sweet story. I love how Charlie met the twins before she met Brendan and was their reluctant hero. I like how Brendan was able to read Charlie’s struggles and how he wanted to help her. I love their push and pull of their ‘not wanting a relationship’ relationship. I love the closeness of the Fitzgerald family. I am loving this series.
Second chances is part of Windsor Falls Series, the third in the series. The main characters Charlie and Brendan haven’t had it easy. There is an instant attraction but both try to pull away because of their past. As a reader I really enjoyed the build up to see how they finally put down their barriers and take a chance on love. The book is great at giving you insight to their backgrounds.
I enjoyed this read and read it with ease. I cannot wait for future stories from this series.
WOW!! SECOND CHANCES had me at the Very First chapter alone and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!! KIMBERLEY O’MALLEY did it Again!!! I LOVE an Suspenseful Romance of a Single Dad and then throw in Twin daughters into mix!! Charlotte aka Charlie and Brendan’s story is So Beautifully written and deals with sensitive subjects of PTSD. Charlie deals with her PTSD after experiencing things from Africa with some volunteering work there. Brendan deals with a bitter divorce and taking care of his beautiful twin daughters so dating is off the tables. But when a terrible tragedy happens to one of the twins, Brendan feels like the world is closing in on him. But when he collides with Charlie, well let’s say Sparks Fly into the Air but in the unexpected kind of way!
I don’t want you give too much away but this is a Book that you WILL NOT WANT TO PUT DOWN and Instantly wanna know what is going to happen next!!
I cannot say enough about this series. I love the town, the characters, everything! I want to be like Mrs. Fitzgerald. I adored this story. It brought out so much emotion. Any story that can give you the feels like this one makes it to the top of my list. I will be anxiously waiting for more books in this series.
Third book in this series. A great read with an emotional journey for the characters. A heartfelt story in which you may need tissues. Charlie and Brendan work, and with the added bonus of two adorable girls this is one book not to miss!! Highly recommend.
A nice read. There were some tear jerker moments and they had a lot to work through but at least they finally found their HEA.
Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Avery has just moved to Windsor Falls to be closer to her best friend, Dr. Elizabeth Bishop. She is dealing with PTSD from her time in Africa and is just trying to survive the best she can. When Charlie unexpectedly saves a young girl from getting hit by a car she becomes the new town hero.
Brendan Fitzgerald is a single father to twins Kerry and Abby. He has raised the girls from birth by himself and when Abby is almost hit by a car he meets Charlie.
As Brendan and Charlie begin to get close to each other they each have walls built up to protect themselves. Will they let them down for a chance at happiness? When Brendan’s past comes back how far he is willing to protect who he loves the most?
This was a great book with a few twists and turns to make you wonder what will happen next.
I really liked Charlie and knew she had experienced something awful in Africa. It was also evident that she had gone through her own issues with her parents as she chose a path that they did not approve of. I really liked her relationship with Elizabeth but I was sad that Charlie kept so much bottled up.
Brendan had his own issues from the past that kept him guarded and I knew from the beginning that they would come back to haunt him. I loved his relationship with his girls and how he raised them.
I knew some of the issues that were going to appear but I had no idea how everything was going to explode after the confrontation between Charlie and someone from Brendan’s past. I was shocked at how Brendan reacted.
The end was good and makes up for everything although I was super sad for what Charlie went through before that.
This is book 3 in the Windsor Falls Series. In book 2 we heard abbout a Charlie but never meet her. She was away in Africa when her best friend Elizabeth was getting married. She is now back and atarts off with her making it to Windsor Falls for an interview. She is on a run and saves a little girl from getting hit by a car. Thats how ahe meeta Brendan. He is Abbys dad. He is a single father of twin girls. These 2 have sparks. I loved reading about Charlie and Brendan.
This is the third book in the series and it was another great book that I didn’t want to put down. Charlotte decides to move to Windsor Falls and apply for a job at the hospital. She suffers from PTSD from being in Africa and keeps a secret from everyone. Brendan is a HOT, single dad who’s ex didn’t want anything to do with her kids. I loved the attraction between him and Charlotte and the way she loved his little girls. I definitely recommend this book.
This is the third book in this series and we get a great glimpse of the characters in the first two books, along with the main characters ..Brendon and Charlotte. charlotte has a lot going on…high maintenance society parents and PTSD from a horrible experience while she was volunteering overseas to help the less fortunate. She is strong, and seeks help for her PTSD, but she also lives with constant damage from that experience. Brendan concentrates on raising his girls and giving them the best life possible. But what if he isn’t enough? The characters meet in a most interesting way and eventually they can’t help but find their HEA. I love the characters that this small town has. And I did love Brendan and Charlotte. This is a great book. I gave it a four star rating because I will continue with the series. Each character at one point I want to slap sense into, but in the end the HEA is sweet. Rushed, but Sweet. I will forge on to Quinn’s book next….
Charlotte and Brendan did not want love but, fate had other ideas. This was a really good book. Could not put down.
Sweet easy to read novel although a bit predictable.
This book follows the same path as the previous 2 books. Characters have varying degrees of traumatic pasts, they don’t want romantic relationships, the sparks start to fly, something happens to drive them apart, they get back together and it’s happily ever after.
Love the world building that KM brings in this book. The Fitzgerald family is big and boisterous. Brendan is the quiet one in the family. Brendan has emotional scars from his ex-wife. Charlie the new ER Dr. has her own scars. She saves the life of one of Brendan’s girls. This book is full of humor and angst and it is a great story. It is the 3rd book in the series. I do recommend you read the other 2 first… Pam James
